Phineas had put his robot aside. The only parts that needed to be done now could only be done by hand. The robot had become too large now. He and Ferb were now the only one working since Jeremy and Jenny had had enough as well at this point. His phone rang.
"Phineas here" he said upon picking up the phone.
"Phineas... are you done?" Gretchen asked.
"Oh Gretchen, you guys managed to get the crystal then?" Phineas asked.
"Yes and Isabella is ready to come to your house now."
"Give us a little bit more time. We're almost done but we can't get the rest done so soon. Give us about 15 more minutes."
"Isabella can't wait that long, Phineas." Gretchen said. She wanted to add "and we can't think of anything anymore to keep her busy for 15 more minutes" but she didn't.
Phineas knew she couldn't wait. He somehow knew that Isabella just couldn't wait to get involved in one of their projects every day, whether it was all for her or not. He couldn't explain why because it was just a feeling. "Ok... just 5 more minutes then. I know we can do it!"
"Ok, I think we can manage that. See you soon!" Gretchen said and she hung up the phone.
Phineas just couldn't wait for Isabella to get here but the last bits had to be done. He had to ask the others to help out once more.
"Ferb, can you get the others? Isabella will be here in 5 mi-" Phineas said but the green-haired boy was already on it. "Now that's what I call efficiency" Phineas said.
"Come on, Dinner-bell. You said we were done." Buford said.
"We're almost done Buford. There's no time for questions or complaining, this last part has to be done fast!" Phineas couldn't wait any longer.
"Okay!" the others agreed and even Buford (reluctantly) helped out on the last part. It had to be done fast!
"Oh, there you are Perry" Phineas said upon seeing the platypus again.
"Isabella, aren't you walking a little too fast?" Ginger asked.
"Yes, yes I am" Isabella replied. She wanted to go down to Phineas's as soon as possible now.
"But chief, we've walked through the desert... I can't see how you're able to keep this pace" Gretchen said. They were obviously slacking to give Phineas more time but Isabella luckily didn't see this.
"I'm sorry, girls but I just want to get this to Phineas as soon as possible" Isabella replied.
"Yes, we understand but at least give us a chance to keep up" Milly said.
The girls laughed and even Isabella smiled. She's been dragging the girls into an adventure the entire day, not knowing THEY had been dragging HER into an adventure.
"Well can we at least slow down a bit. Oh, and while you're at it, carry me" Holly said hopeful.
"Nice try, Holly" Katie said, causing the rest to laugh with her.
Sure enough, the girls started to slow down. Isabella knew that she had to walk slower for the others but she just couldn't wait. All day, she had no idea what Phineas had been doing. Was it a crystallized version of yet another roller-coaster? Were they creating the most expensive necklace? She came up with the weirdest possibilities but she just couldn't think of a use for a crystal with 200 sides.
"Psst, Gretchen. What did Phineas say?" Adyson asked sneakily.
"He said 5 more minutes but we just have to stall for as much time as possible." Gretchen replied.
"And the sore feet are the best we can come up with?" Adyson replied sarcastically.
"Well do you have a better idea? Anything different and Isabella will freak out for not seeing Phineas for so long" Gretchen grinned.
"True. Okay you didn't hear that then" Adyson grinned back.
Sure enough, the girls came closer to Maple drive. Isabella could see something that looked like a massive structure and knew that it had to have been made by Phineas and Ferb. This made her even more curious. What was it for? Was the crystal needed on top?
"Wow, Isabella look!" Katie said.
"Yes, I've seen it! Oh what have they made this time! I really wanna know" Isabella nearly jumped in excitement.
"Well hold your horses. We don't share your determination to see Phineas" Milly laughed.
"I agree that I have determination to see Baljeet but my feet get top priority at the moment." Ginger said causing the rest to giggle.
"Well thanks for letting me sleep... pass out here dad. I'm going home again." Vanessa waved her father goodbye.
"Goodbye Vanessa" Doofenschmirtz said and waved his daughter goodbye. After all that happened, he had regained his lust for evil. He had even gotten a new idea for using the marbles. Why make them grow if they're far more annoying when they're just small and littered all over the ground? He just had to make some adjustments to the marble-inator to just shoot them in crowded places. It's a lot more fun to see people slip over them he thought. He just had to be done before Perry arrived again. When was Perry going to arrive anyway? For all he knew, Perry could be waiting just outside his very own door and spy on his work! The doctor became a little anxious and made a little mistake causing the marble-inator to explode.
"Oh come on! Why does this always happen to me. Curse you, bad luck! Oh ok, I'll start over" Doofenschmirtz told himself out loud.
"Maybe you can just throw them." Norm had been in sleep-mode all day and he somehow found a way to turn himself on again. He didn't want to get involved with the scenes that happened during the day and he didn't want to trip on a set of marbles at all so he didn't activate until now.
"Norm, one of these days you'll understand the true meaning of being an evil inventor... but not if you go on like that..." Doofenschmirtz said sarcastically.
At last Phineas was done with his project and everyone cheered. At last he could thank Isabella in one of the best ways he could think of.
At last, Isabella had arrived at the Flynn-Fletcher residence. At last she was going to see what Phineas and Ferb had been doing all day.
Phineas told everyone to gather on the top plateau. He himself was going down to pick up Isabella. He couldn't wait to see her anymore. He eagerly pressed the button down.
The fireside girls had agreed to bring Pinky home so that Isabella would be alone for at least a little while with Phineas. Isabella couldn't wait to see him anymore. She eagerly hopped into the yard.
She looked around but saw no-one. Were they all up there? She was just about to step to the elevator when the doors opened.
"Hey there, Izzy!" Phineas said excitedly upon seeing his best friend already standing in the yard.
"Phineas!" Isabella said in excitement.
"Good to see you!" Phineas said, smiling. He walked out of the elevator door towards her.
"Phineas I... I mean, what'cha doin'?" Isabella stuttered a bit.
"Waiting for you to arrive" Phineas said with a smile.
"You've really been waiting for me?" Isabella lightened up but then realized "Oh wait, your crystal... you've been waiting for the crystal, haven't you."
"Well, that as well, but mainly for you!" Phineas replied.
"What?" Isabella felt her heart pounding. All this time he had been waiting for her! She couldn't believe it. Was she in Phineas-land again? No, he wasn't a centaur which was a good sign.
"You heard me. Ferb will go down to pick up the rest of the girls in a moment" Phineas said.
"Wait, you know they're here as well?" Isabella asked confused.
"Of course! Who else could I have asked to keep you busy" Phineas said.
"Keep me busy?" Isabella looked at him confused. What was he talking about?
"Yes! Now, are you ready for your surprise?" Phineas said eagerly and he stretched out his hand.
