Belle’s heart stopped as she made eye contact with Sophia, who looked at her with obvious pity and sadness.  Adrenaline surged through her as she took a few shaky steps back and shook her head.  She didn’t want to see her; not now.

“H-- Hey…  It’s good to see you, Belle,” Sophia said quietly as she stood on the opposite side of the fence.  “How are you holding out?”  She shakily asked, her words ringing with an anxious edge.

Belle fumed and trembled, feeling nothing but disdain when looking upon her old friend.  Sophia had such a nice shape, with flawless, lightly tanned skin, and hips that nicely filled out the feminine set of overalls she wore.  On the other hand, Belle was a bloated, half-bovine monstrosity with no hands and an almost total inability to speak like a human.  The world around her appeared in a strange mix of greens, yellows, and blues, signaling to her that her eyes likely didn’t look particularly human any more.

Why did Sophia get to be this perfect, adorable human girl?  She had delicate, feminine hands that she could use to manipulate a plethora of objects and complete a myriad of varied tasks.  A quick glance toward the ground allowed Belle a good look at her front hooves; clumsy appendages, which were good for little more than moving her bulky form from one spot in the pasture to another. “Y-- Yoo- yeeuuugh…  Y-- M… Mooooo…”  Belle stammered in response, her sentence trailing into the mournful lowing of a cow.

Sophia winced as she scanned Belle.  Deep brown hair still stuck out atop her head, but it was falling out, with clumps stuck to her neck and shoulders.  Belle’s body was large, squared, and round like a cow, with her muscular neck sticking forward from her hunched shoulders-- a posture befitting a quadruped, but not a human.  Her head and face looked mostly bovine, with an elongated muzzle, a flat nose, and dark bestial eyes.  On top of that, white fur with dark splotches covered the entirety of her body.  Only her hair combined with a bit of plumpness in her ass and hips and the shriveling breasts hanging from her chest hinted that she once walked amongst homosapiens.

“You don’t need to say anything,” Sophia said sympathetically, trying to keep herself from or showing her profound sadness.  “I just-- well…”  She hesitated and averted her gaze, unable to stare at what had become of her friend much longer.  “I’m sorry for how things went.  I should have thought more of your feelings when I was texting with Bret and all that,” she said softly.  She knew she was more in the right than Belle, but she wasn’t the one dealing with an ongoing cow transformation; kicking Belle while she was down would do no good.  “I really did everything I could to stop this. I-- I promise I’ll visit you here as much as I can.  You’ll be taken care of; your life here will be easy,” Sophia insisted, forcing a weak smile as she looked at her friend.

Belle stared hard, her massive frame trembling.  Were those words supposed to comfort her?  To make her feel better? NOTHING Sophia said would make her human again.  Her hollow words and promises wouldn’t stop Belle from turning into a hideous beast that spent all day, eating, shitting and pissing while waiting for the next breeding or milking opportunity.  Life would go on without her for Sophia, Bret, Daniela, and her father, who was already busy enough with the children who lived up to his expectations.  She wanted to scream and verbally tear Sophia apart while cursing her terrible fate, but couldn’t.  Any attempt at speech would come across as incomprehensible, bestial nonsense.  Belle didn’t want to be a fucking cow; she didn’t want to be milked day in and out, and she certainly didn’t want to birth calves. ‘Hesat-- why? Say what you want, but you’re an absolutely evil fucking goddess-- you’re a fucking devil. FUCK you.  Fuck you and damn you, you piece of shit,’ she internally screamed.  While Sopha would remain unable to understand her words, maybe the goddess could hear her thoughts.  She was desperate for a way to vent her rage.

Sophia felt unbridled anger emanating from Belle and instinctively took a step back despite the fence separating them.  “I know-- I…  I know,” Sophia said weakly, putting a hand on her arm as she shook her head.  “Nothing I say can change things.  How can I expect to comfort you when you’re going through something so traumatic?”  She stared into Belle’s eyes with a determined look, taking a slow breath while elenching her hands.  “There’s so much anger within you; so much seething rage.  Please try to let it go, Belle,” she begged.  “You’re changing forms, but your life isn’t over.  It’s not too late to accept the hand fate dealt you and let go of all this fury,” she insisted.  “You still have a long life ahead of you; try to focus on the ways you can be happy and at peace within your new form.  Lamenting all that happened for the rest of yoru days will only make you more miserable.”

“M-- MOOOO!” Belle moaned as her anger saturated every inch of her swollen, inhuman frame.  Where did Sophia get off lecturing her like this?  A long life existing as a cow?  What was the point?  She’d be better off dead than having to live in a perpetual nightmare of humiliation.  It sure must have been nice to be the one standing on the opposite side of the fence-- to be the one with the moral high ground who could spout off nonsense without worry of repercussions.  It wasn’t like Sophia had to worry about Belle screaming or arguing since she was incapable of speaking clearly enough to get any singular point across.  How could she be happy?  How could she let go of her anger and live as a damned animal?  Was this some kind of sick joke?  Would she ever wake up from this nightmare?

“M-- M-- ooooh…”  Belle whined as her udder suddenly ached and her pussy spasmed.  A pang of arousal rose up within her as she briefly recalled how amazing getting fucked by Grant had felt.  She stamped a hoof and found herself longing for her mate before she blinked and snapped back to reality.  Where did that thought come from?  Why on earth would she fantasize about a god damn fucking bull in the middle of her confrontation?

Sophia couldn’t keep the look of sadness from her face as she slowly shook her head. ‘Is this even Belle any more?’ From what she understood, Belle’s human thoughts were still intact and her human ego would always remain.  However, it was immensely difficult to see her that way.  The creature before her seemed so primal and bestial; her protests and lowing came across as the whining of an unhappy dairy cow.  It didn’t help that Belle’s eyes had darkened, no longer resembling the piercing blue orbs they once were.  ‘We can’t even converse,’ she lamented.  It struck her that she’d never again have a normal conversation with Belle-- never again laugh or smile with her.

Something about that prospect struck her profoundly and she started to tremble, tears welling.  “I’m sorry, Belle,” she said again, unsure of what else she could say at a time like this.  “Please-- please just try to live a better life from now on,” she pleaded.  “Maybe if you do, things can change in the future.  Maybe Hesat will change you back one day, or maybe you’ll find peace in your new existence.”

“M-- Mooooo!”  Belle wailed, stomping her front hooves and flaring her nostrils.  She wished the fence wasn’t there; how she’d love to knock that bitch off her feet and onto her ass.

She thought back through the years as instances of Belle’s selfishness and narcissism sprung to mind, her visage growing more determined.  “No more being selfish.  No more thinking of yourself and no one else,” she said sternly.  “You weren’t just punished for desecrating a statue…  There’s years of callousness and selfishness behind you.  Hesat gave you the chance to change and prove yourself, but even now I can tell you’d be screaming at me if you could.  Calling me a bitch-- an awful person.  Right?”  She shook her head as tears streamed down her cheeks and plopped onto the grass.  “Be a good cow.  Give up your milk without complaint and follow Roger’s lead.  This is your chance to be part of something bigger than yourself; put your heart and soul into making Roger’s farm flourish by playing your role without putting up a fight.”

A small part of Belle knew Sophia was right.  She had been selfish and callous, just as accused.  She didn’t want to be bad-- to be a narcissist who only cared for herself.  She froze and momentarily stopped her angry lowing and thrashing, making eye contact with Sophia as a look of despair spread on her bovine face.  Still, though.  Sophia got to be human, and how many far worse people than Belle got to continue their human lives unpunished?  There were sociopaths, murderers, and awful narcissists living their best lives while Belle, who considered herself a saint by comparison, was dealt the worst punishment imaginable.

“M-- MRROOOO!”  A haze of seething hatred shrouded Belle’s mind.  Why doubt herself now?  Sophia was her enemy-- so was Hesat and everyone else.  The woman before her was supposed to be her best friend, and instead, she was lecturing her, effectively kicking her while she was down and rubbing salt in her wound.  Wasn’t her current condition enough?  She lowered her head and stomped forward, ramming her thick skull against the fence a few feet from Sophia.

As the fence reverberated, Sophia gasped and took a couple of steps back.  She looked at Belle with disappointment and shook her head while trembling.  If the fence wasn’t there, would Belle have knocked her onto the ground?  Would she have attacked or potentially killed her?  Was this beast before her really Belle?  She clenched her hands and grimaced, fighting back the tears.  “I’ll leave you alone now.  Just think about what I said…  I will always remember you as my best friend, cherishing the good times we had together.”

Sophia’s face contorted into a strained smile.  “Good luck.  If you ever want to see me again, I’ll come visit.” She turned and walked toward the farm house, not wanting Belle to see her quivering lip and state of near mental breakdown.  She heard angry and mournful mooing behind her as she kept her gaze forward and refused to look back, each step bringing her a peculiar mix of relief and sorrow.

When she got inside, Roger got up from his chair and gently walked over to her.  “Are you okay, hon?  I can’t imagine how hard that must have been for you,” he said sympathetically, placing a hand on the young woman’s shoulder.

Sophia trembled, closing her eyes tightly while shaking her head.  “I-- I’m not…  I’m not okay,” she choked.  “I wanted her to beat this…  I-- I wanted her to grow and be a better person.  I thought we could be friends again,” she sniffed, confident she must have looked like a wreck.e

Roger leaned close and pulled Sophia into a gentle hug, brushing his fingers through her hair.  He saw her as a daughter figure and had become protective over the hard-working young woman’s wellbeing.  “You did nothing wrong…  I know it’s hard.  I know Belle is anguishing over her fate, but I promise I’ll take good care of her.  Belle’s actions and Hesat’s decisions are not something you can control,” he promised.

“I know-- I know…”  She replied, gripping Roger’s shirt as she gladly accepted his comfort.  “I just-- what if I could have done more?  What if I could have pushed her to be a better person before any of this happened?”

“People won’t change unless they want to.  The only person you truly have that much control over is yourself, dear,” Roger assured.  “I’ll make you some dinner; alright?”  He offered.

Sophia hesitated before nodding after a few seconds, feeling a deep rumbling within her stomach.  She hadn’t eaten much over the last few days.  “Thank you, Roger,” she muttered.  “Y-- Yeah.  Food would be great,” she conceded.

As Belle lowed and whined in the pasture, a sudden and powerful throbbing racked her breasts and spread through her body.  She stumbled and nearly toppled over as her vision started to shift further away from the human spectrum.  Despite the sensation in her chest and backside, she was too wrapped up in her confusion and rage to understand what was happening.

‘It-- it hurts-- what is this?  Fuck-- fuck everything-- fuck my life, fuck Hesat-- FUCK FUCK FUCK!!!’ Any who saw Belle right now would be witness to a strange sight as her withered breasts further shrunk, and her ass gradually disappeared into the rectangular and decidedly not-feminine shape of a cow’s backside.
