Upon falling asleep, the world swirled around Laura. She passed through a chasm of fog and fragmented memories before returning to reality. She sat with her old friends at a table as they ate food and chatted.

'Where am I?...' Laura mused, scanning the room around her. She was at some restaurant, but everything was hazy and out of focus. After looking at her friends' faces, she noticed they were blurry and lacking the usual features. Instead of finding this odd, Laura hesitantly accepted the oddity as a regular part of life.

What were they talking about? She focused on their words, but her brain struggled to comprehend them. 'What am I doing?' She thought to herself, fidgeting as she pushed her legs together. The food plated before her smelled of meaty, umami flavor but evoked no sense of hunger. Now frowning, she leaned in and sniffed the food, her face scrunching into a grimace. She couldn't make out they were eating, but it didn't appeal to her in any way, regardless.

How did she get here? She recalled a desperate, internal struggle she fought with herself. The details eluded her, but she was sure she had been fighting for her very humanity. Shouldn't she feel triumphant joy if she had fought so valiantly to retrain her humanity? She wiggled her fingers before her face and glanced down at her chest, noting the shape of her breasts beneath the fabric. She was a human spending time with her human friends; wasn't that the life she fought for?

"This is what I wanted," she whispered as her lips curled into a weak smile. She just had to relax and enjoy her life as a human. A savory, meaty fragrance assaulted her nostrils, causing her stomach to churn. 'What the heck is wrong with me?' She needed to eat her food and enjoy the fact she had the required taste buds to enjoy the feat laid before her.

She gritted her teeth and let out a low sigh before stabbing her fork into the nondescript food and raising it to her lips. She broke into a cold sweat as her hand started to tremble.

'This is what you wanted. This is the life you said was worth fighting for.'

Laura wasn't sure if the voice in her head was hers, but the words stood out as significant. Was this what she wanted? The food hovered below her nostrils before she finally opened her mouth in defiance and chomped down.

When the food matter hit her tongue, she gagged and was disgusted. Whatever her meal was, it tasted rancid and rotten. Now gagging, she spat the food onto a napkin and wiped her mouth before chugging down some ice water to get rid of the taste.

'Maybe this isn't what you wanted. What are you fighting for?'

Laura froze, staring at her plate as her whole body trembled. What was she fighting for? She hated all of this. Sitting around with friends who rambled about nothing and abandoned her at the drop of a hat. Wearing constricting clothes and eating disgusting, overly-complex food that lacked any kind of nuance or purity. Was this what she had been fighting for? Was all of this worth it?

'You have a new life now. Do you remember?'

Laura's mind raced as a torrent of memories cascaded through her. She remembered the sensation and fragrance of fresh grass as she chewed the greenery in a rhythmic motion. Without warning, she began to salivate as her whole body tingled.

The room suddenly turned dark, with light only illuminating the table she was at and a door at the end of the room. A leafy, verdant scent crept in from under the door, urging Laura to get up and abandon her human friends. She bit her lip and looked between her friends, still unable to make out any delicate details. They abandoned her before, right? So, what was she waiting for?

Unable to resist her mourning primal urges, Laura walked toward the door, quickly leaving the humans behind. With every step, her body grew heavier, her steps becoming labored. Real food was behind that door; not only that but her real life. There was nothing left behind her to look back at; she could only keep her eyes forward and focused on true happiness.

The only human who meant anything to her was her sister; everyone else was self-serving and manipulative. Animals were self-serving, sure, but they were pure. They didn't lie, hide their emotions, or betray one another. She always knew what her cows wanted-- when they were happy or distressed, sleepy or energized. They were gentle, loving beings who lived lives worthy of envy.

"Ugh…" As she closed in on the door, her body swelled up, her ass and tits bursting through her clothes while tufts of white fur spread over her body. Her initial thought was to cry out in concern, but she felt nothing but elation. If she opened the door, she could let this new form consume her; it would overtake her life and make her whole.

By now, she couldn't stop drooling. She felt an insatiable hunger that couldn't be contained by any human means. "My- my life…  I need it back…" She pleaded. It took long enough to transform and shed her human suit; she had finally transitioned to cow-hood just to get stuck in this awful purgatory with her human ex-friends.

“Just-- just a little farther…”  She begged, reaching over as she grabbed the doorknob and turned.

She stumbled into a grassy pasture and collapsed, releasing a low guttural moan. Her body expanded while her hands and feet quivered, becoming a well-manicured set of hooves. Her mouth jutted outward as her skull reshaped atop her neck. Waves of euphoria overtook Laura as she released a low moo of pleasure.

Her tits and ass disappeared into the growing shape of her bovine body while her hair fell to the ground in clumps. "Moooooo!" She cried out as her tongue thickened and her udder took shape. She had never felt so excited before; all her anxiety over being stuck as a human completely melted away as she stumbled forward in her increasingly cow-like body.

Before she knew it, she was entirely a cow surrounded by her kind. A gleeful moo uttered forth from her lips as she leaned over and started to graze while swishing her tail happily. She almost forgot how good life had become.

Laura suddenly jerked away as her eyes shot open. The dim light of the morning sun shined into the stable, illuminating the hay and wooden walls around her. Had all of that just been a dream?

She realized she was sitting and instinctively stood to her feet-- or, rather, her hooves. The immense weight of her body was immediately apparent as she looked down at her limbs.

A wave of overwhelming relief crashed over her when she felt her tail and her swollen udder. That dream was just that-- a dream. She wasn't human, and she would get to enjoy the rest of her life as a cow.

The conflict swirling within her gradually subsided as a warm, tingly sensation enveloped her body. Giddiness welled up within her as she opened her mouth. "Mooooo…."

She truly was a cow, a great, herbivorous beast who was allowed a life of luxury on the farm. Was there any reason to fight her fate? She remembered struggling against the allure of cowhood just one day prior, but now she felt almost entirely natural. A nagging at the back of her head still made her uneasy, but the prospect of becoming human made her completely sick.

Laura flicked her tail as she sauntered around her stable, getting used to how her body moved. Her udder hurt just slightly, but she ignored it for now. This was the first day of the rest of her life, so there was no hurry for her to immediately adjust. After walking and stretching her legs for a few minutes, she realized the stable door was open. A sense of pride swelled within her; ordinary cows weren't allowed free reign, having to rely on farm hands for tasks as basic as leaving their stables.

'I'm a queen here, aren't I?' She mused before walking across the dirt and hay strewn about. Upon stepping outside, she squinted and turned her head in response to the morning sun's great radiance. "Mooo!" She walked into the pasture, smelling the fresh earthiness all around her. Taill patches of grass dotted the landscape around her, urging that she give in to her insatiable appetite.

Just as she was about to learn over and start grazing, she heard mooing from behind her.

"Moooo!" A brown cow lazily walked over and knelt, gluttonously devouring the grass near Laura.

Excitement consumed Laura as her heart rate picked up. She had fantasized about eating with her cow friends for a while now; it was hard to believe she was actually getting the opportunity to live her dream. A quick glance was enough for her to see the other cows coming to join her.

In a matter of minutes, Laura was surrounded by her kin. They happily ate while letting out content sounds mixed with the birds chirping in the distance. 'They won't judge me…  I can live my life however I want now,' Laura contemplated as saliva dripped from her mouth. She couldn't resist any longer; without further delay, she opened her mouth and took in the green, fibrous strands.

Her eyes immediately lit up as a cacophony of decadent flavor coated her tastebuds. As a human, she never realized how complex and nuanced foliage could taste. She couldn't help but feel a sense of triumphant superiority as she devoured the buffet spread before her. Humans couldn't appreciate these subtle yet intricate flavors. They had such a dull sense of taste that they had to heap complex spices and gallons of sugar into their food just to stomach any of it. Cows were different; they were pure beings who could appreciate food in its natural, correct state.

"Moooo!" Laura bellowed, falling into a trance as she spent the next hour eating. As a human, she would have been bored out of her mind. She would have been browsing her phone while eating before dividing her time between back-breaking labor and finding ways to amuse herself. For some reason, boredom wasn't an issue yet. She simply lost track of time and got swept up in the flow of cow-hood. Her thoughts transitioned from complex human matters into something much more palatable for a dairy cow.

She basked in nature's glory, listening to the peaceful sounds as the gentle morning breeze caressed her. Her mind simply transitioned from one pure thought to another, admiring the lovely song of the birds, fawning over how the warm sun felt comfortable, and feeling grateful for such excellent food-- all ideas that required little brain power or worry.

Just as Laura's stomach started to feel comfortably full, a feminine voice suddenly sounded through her head. "Laura!!! You look amazing!"

Laura turned and was immediately overcome with happiness as she saw a ruddy brown German Shepherd trotting to her side. She immediately recognized Brittney and felt elated that they could communicate as Rynn promised. "You really think so? It's good to see you."

Brittney happily panted and wagged her tail. "Of course! You look so beautiful and happy!" She cheered.

Laura couldn't help but feel mildly self-conscious. She was, of course, cheerful and optimistic regarding her future as a cow. However, she had still been human before changing. Remnants of vanity still lingered and made her doubt whether she had made the right choice by giving in. "You don't think cows are fat and bloated?" However, Brittney had such glossy fur and raw canine beauty. "You're such a gorgeous dog now, Brittney."

Brittney let out a bark, her tail swishing animatedly. "Cows are amazing! From my point of view, you're basically a perfect being," she insisted, walking over as she gently nuzzled her head against Laura's back leg.

Laura felt great relief; she was lucky to have made such a good friend that she would see daily. "I'm glad you think so."

"Do you want to go look at birds with me?" Brittney cheered.

"I just ate; a walk sounds good," Laura replied as she began to walk through the grass with Brittney at her side. It was strange to think she didn't need Netflix, video games, or girls' nights to feel fulfilled. The prospect of lazily walking and watching birds with Brittney was far sweeter than any human temptation she could recall in recent memory.

As they walked, Laura felt a dull throb within her udder. The pink sack felt heavier than it had the night before, and it would occasionally ache when her teets chafed against the grass and other obstacles. What was going on? Was she sick? A rash? She briefly recalled the principle of Occam's Razor. The most straightforward answer was likely correct- that she was due for a good milking.

"Is everything okay?" Brittney asked curiously, looking up at her friend.

"Yeah-- I think I need to be milked…  This will take some getting used to," Laura sighed. Despite her mild complaints, she couldn't stop thinking about how it would feel to have her milk drained. "Maybe I should try to reach Cass."

Brittney froze, staring at Laura like a deer in headlights before shifting her gaze toward the swollen udder. "Do you need some help? I promise I'll be gentle," Brittney suggested.

A wave of embarrassment overtook Laura. Was Brittney really offering to help her with this issue, of all things? They had been human until recently; wouldn't performing such an act be humiliating for them? "We were human the other day-- wouldn't that be kind of weird?" She sheepishly asked, her ears folding against her head.

"We're not, though! I'm a dog, and you're a cow," Brittney simply responded. "I could use a few calories…  Maybe this should seem weird, but it doesn't. I promise to be gentle; I'll watch my teeth," she promised.

Laura took a slow breath and nodded. Her body shook in anticipation, so she couldn't say no. "Y-- Yes; I think I could use your help." This could be the start of a lovely new friendship dynamic.

Meanwhile, a large truck hauling a livestock trailer pulled into the farmhouse's driveway. The bus driver from the day prior stepped out with a strange smile and greeted Cass. "I have him right here!" He happily stated.

"Perfect!" Cassie smiled, following the man to the trailer's backside.

She anxiously watched as the back opened, and a massive, well-muscled black bull walked down the ramp. He was a huge beast with glossy fur and a massive cock between his legs.

The bull flared his nostrils and looked around while sniffing the air. "My mate…  I smell her-- I smell Laura…”

Cass heard Brock's thoughts in her head. "You will see her soon. Thank you for joining us," she said with a warm smile.
