So this was the story that caused that big week long delay. While I'm upset that this was a whole week late, I'm also somewhat pleased with it. As I was writing it, it kept getting longer and longer (the whole thing is 23,000 words) and I realized at some point it would need to be split in two. Rather than just breaking the other half off at that point though I kept working on it because I didn't quite like the direction it was going and I wanted to modify it while I had the liberty to still change this half as well.

The result was that this took several extra days to write and edit, but I am happy to say that I ended up with a lot of extra writing done, which I have been trying to leveraging to get ahead of schedule.

But then, we'll see what fate has in store, haha.
