Lake Of the Clouds is one of the jewels of Michigan's Porcupine Mountains. While it has always been accessible to the young and healthy, it became much more accessible when the state park system connected the overlook to the parking lot with a short trail. Some time in the past twenty years or so, a boardwalk was installed. Now, even those confined to a wheel chair can enjoy the rugged beauty of this placid lake.<br /><br />This photo was taken from the boardwalk. The original overlook is on the escarpment on the left side of the photo. It is still used, and still accessible to anyone who can walk over moderately rough terrain.
