This picture was taken from the overlook at Straits State Park near Saint Ignace, Michigan. I did a lot of experimenting with cropping and exposure. I had some problems with camera motion, but a few pictures came out well. I like the way the reflections silhouette the evergreen trees.<br /><br />The Mackinac (MACK-in-naw) Bridge connects Michigan's lower and upper peninsulas. It goes from Mackinaw City to Saint Ignace, It is five miles long and spans the Straits of Mackinac.<br /><br />(And yes, the city name is spelled differently.)<br /><br />It was built in the late fifties, and is one of the few big projects that came in on time and under budget. It's a beautiful structure, and a favorite of photographers.
