The Mackinac (MACK-in-naw) Bridge connects Michigan's lower and upper peninsulas. It goes from Mackinaw City to Saint Ignace, It is five miles long and spans the Straits of Mackinac.<br /><br />(And yes, the city name is spelled differently.)<br /><br />It was built in the late fifties, and is one of the few big projects that came in on time and under budget. It's a beautiful structure, and a favorite of photographers.
