This Black Australorp cross hen decided to plop her feathery butt upon a bunch of eggs. The result is what we call 'barnyard cross' chicks.<br /><br />Mother hens are very protective, and like to walk around all puffed up and clucking. The chicks respond to the clucking by following the hen and and burrowing under her feathers when cold.
