I'm sure there are raccoons at our little place in the country, but the wild animals around here tend to avoid humans. In a place that is frequented by humans and their food, the animals who don't shy away get the most food. That's why you see more critters in the city and at crowded campgrounds.

This little guy didn't approach us, but neither did he hide. He just waited patiently for us to go to bed so that he could try to raid our cooler. Fortunately, we are experienced campers and know better than to leave raccoon bait around.
