I strode into "Java Jive," feeling the usual irritation brewing inside me like cheap diner coffee. Late for work already, my phone buzzing constantly with messages from my assistant, and now I was stuck behind some hipster ordering what sounded like a chemistry experiment.

Finally reaching the counter, I shot an impatient glare at the barista—young, wide-eyed, perky, with brightly dyed pastel-pink hair tied back in a bouncy ponytail. Her nametag cheerily read: **"Kylie <3"**.

Ugh. Great. Another overly perky type.

"Good morning, sir! What can I get started for you today?" Kylie asked, her voice chirpier than the annoying birds outside my office window every morning.

"Large Americano. Black," I replied shortly, already reaching into my pocket for money.

"Sure thing!" she beamed. "Would you like—"

"Look, Kylie," I cut her off, noticing the hurt flicker in her eyes. Good. Maybe she'd be quicker now. "Did I say I wanted small talk? Americano. Large. Black. You think you can manage that, sweetheart?"

The smile on her face froze and turned stiff. Her cheerful eyes darkened ever-so-slightly, the edge of her mouth twitching into a controlled little frown. "Of course," she said, voice icy. "Name?"

"What do you need a name for? I'm the only one here." I made an exaggerated show of looking around the empty café. "Or do you need it spelled out?"

Kylie took a deep breath, plastering a smile that was clearly forced. "Company policy," she said coolly. "Name?"

I groaned, checking my watch. "It's James. Spelled exactly how it sounds."

She nodded stiffly, scribbled something hastily onto the cup, and turned away to prepare the drink. I couldn't help but smirk. Maybe tomorrow I'd swing by corporate headquarters and put in a complaint about their hiring standards.

After a couple of minutes, the café door chimed as more customers shuffled in. I impatiently checked emails until a sing-song voice pierced my irritated bubble.

"Order for... Jamie!" Kylie called out sweetly.

I glanced around. Nobody moved. The café had filled up pretty quickly. "Jamie?" Kylie repeated, louder, holding a cup out, eyes deliberately avoiding me.

"Unbelievable," I muttered, stepping closer. "You seriously can't even get my name right?"

Kylie turned to me, tilting her head innocently, her ponytail bobbing mockingly. "Oh? Are you Jamie?" she asked brightly.

"No, I'm James," I snapped.

"Close enough," Kylie chirped, thrusting the cup into my hand and turning her back to me, already serving the next customer.

Fuming, I glared down at the cup. "Jamie" was written in a big, looping, girly cursive script, with a small heart dotting the 'i'.

"Are you kidding me?" I growled. Around me, a few customers shot amused glances my way.

Sighing, I lifted the lid and took a sip, eager to storm out and end this nonsense.

My mouth flooded instantly with a sweet, sugary rush. I almost gagged—this was the opposite of an Americano. It tasted like caramel, vanilla, whipped cream, and enough sugar to power a kindergarten class.

"What the—" I coughed, startled at how high and musical my voice sounded. Clearing my throat awkwardly, I glared accusingly at Kylie. "This isn't what I ordered!" I squeaked, voice stubbornly feminine.

She gave a syrupy-sweet smile. "I made exactly what suits you, Jamie."

Something in the back of my head twitched at the name again, my heart skipping oddly. I shook myself angrily and stared down at the drink. My mouth tingled strangely; every nerve screamed at me to take another sip. I resisted stubbornly for about three seconds.

Another sip. My lips felt oddly soft against the edge of the cup, warmth trickling down my throat. With every swallow, I felt lighter, strangely relaxed.

"This is...actually not awful," I whispered softly, surprised at my breathy voice. "Weirdly good..."

And then it began. The strangest feeling—a spreading warmth, bubbly and fizzy like sparkling champagne—poured through my chest. I glanced down, confused, then quickly back up, cheeks flushed. My shirt suddenly felt too tight, buttons strained. Wait, was I... swelling?

"What...?" I whispered, voice rising further into a bright, feminine chirp. My fingers shook slightly, nails suddenly shiny, neatly manicured in pale pink.

I needed another sip. Now.

As I drank more, each sugary mouthful deepened the tingling sensations. A pleasurable hum surged through my hips, my slacks tightening as they became snug around curvy thighs, hips rounding deliciously beneath the tailored fabric.

"Oh my god," I breathed, feeling a sudden weight tickle my shoulders as soft, glossy curls cascaded down, brushing against suddenly dainty shoulders. I ran a trembling hand through silky hair, gasping.

"This can't be real..." I murmured, voice delicate and breathy.

I blinked, startled as makeup fluttered delicately across my vision—lashes thick and heavy, lips plumped and glossed. My outfit shifted smoothly: boring corporate suit becoming fitted jeans hugging my rounded hips, a snug blouse accentuating a narrow waist and curving figure, and a cute Java Jive apron appearing wrapped neatly around my petite frame.

"What am I—what's happening?" I stammered, voice utterly feminine, eyes wide and startled. I felt confused, dizzy, yet strangely... happy?

I finished the drink greedily, licking whipped cream from my plump lips. "Mmm, so good," I cooed, smiling. Wait, no! Snap out of it!

Kylie appeared next to me suddenly, smiling gently. "Jamie! Oh, good, you're here!" She glanced at a confused coworker behind the counter. "See, I told you we'd find a great replacement."

Replacement? Wait... me?

I opened my mouth to object but found myself smiling sweetly instead. "Um...right. I mean, yay?" I giggled lightly, fingers tightening nervously around my empty cup. "Is there...maybe more coffee?" I whispered shyly, blushing at how eager my voice sounded.

Kylie smirked knowingly. "Of course, Jamie. Welcome aboard."

My stomach twisted anxiously, but when I looked around the café, something strange happened. It felt... comfortable. Familiar. My memories blurred—hadn't I always loved this place? Working here sounded fun, especially with Kylie.

"Oh my gosh," I gasped softly, realization dawning. "Wait, no. I'm... I'm supposed to be someone else—"

Kylie winked, handing me another sugary cup, this one labeled "Jamie <3".

"Drink up, hun. It'll help," she assured me sweetly.

I hesitated, but the craving burned too strongly. After another sip, my doubts melted deliciously away, leaving only bubbly excitement.

"Mmm," I sighed, the sugary sweetness sparking warm happiness. "So yummy."

Kylie led me gently behind the counter. "Come on, newbie," she teased playfully. "We've got customers waiting."

I stepped into place, tying my apron tighter, curvy hips gently brushing hers. My mind buzzed happily, confusion dimming under a warm glow of sugary bliss.

"Next customer!" I chirped cheerfully, tossing shiny curls back. "Welcome to Java Jive! I'm Jamie. How can I help you?"

Kylie leaned in close, whispering conspiratorially, "See? You're a natural."

I giggled, blushing brightly. My old memories faded to gray—distant, irrelevant. All I wanted now was to be here, surrounded by coffee and smiles, each sip a sugary step toward something sweeter, softer, happier.

I glanced at the customers lining up, warmth blossoming in my chest. Kylie nudged me playfully, whispering softly, "You look so much better smiling, Jamie."

"Thanks!" I beamed, voice bright and girlish. "I'm really excited to work here!"

And with that, the café door chimed open once more, and my first day officially began—ready to spread sweetness, cheer, and plenty of coffee magic.

After all, every Java Jive drink came with a smile—whether you ordered it or not.
