The transformation room was quiet except for the low hum of the machinery as Melanie adjusted a few dials on the console. Shannon leaned against the wall, her arms folded, tapping her foot as she scanned the day's file. She was taller than Melanie, her blonde ponytail swishing as she read, a skeptical look on her face.
"Alright," she muttered, her eyes narrowing. "Today’s special is a real piece of work. This comedian guy—Brad something. Known for picking on everyone and everything he deems weak. Justifies it as ‘pushing boundaries,’ but really, he’s just a bully."
Melanie sighed, glancing over. "Yeah, I’ve seen his stuff. Mocking homeless people, making jokes about survivors… he’s got a real talent for punching down. But I guess it’s our turn to see if he’s still laughing when it’s his life on the line."
The door opened, and Anna wheeled in their client. Brad was strapped down, stark naked, and in no mood to be polite about it. He glared at them, a smirk plastered on his face, his dark eyes gleaming with a mixture of bravado and disdain.
"Well, well," he sneered, his voice a rough, mocking drawl. "So this is the big bad machine that’s supposed to teach me a lesson, huh? Let me guess, you’re gonna turn me into some little princess, make me a damsel in distress, right? I hope you ladies realize that no matter what you do, it’s just gonna make me more famous."
Shannon rolled her eyes, crossing her arms as she looked down at him. "You seem pretty proud of yourself, Brad. You think mocking people and making a living off others’ pain is some kind of talent? You ever wonder if there's more to life than just spewing hate for laughs?"
Brad snorted. "Oh, so that’s what this is? Some social justice warrior revenge? Look, honey, I say what other people are too scared to say. I give people a reason to laugh at all the stuff they’re secretly thinking. If that offends you, maybe you need to loosen up."
Melanie tapped a few buttons, setting up the first stage of his transformation. "You’re right about one thing, Brad: we are here to teach you a lesson. But not because we’re offended. We’re here because you’ve been hurting people, and it’s time for you to get a taste of your own medicine."
He laughed, a deep, mocking sound. "Oh, please. I’m a comedian, sweetheart. You should be thanking me for making the world a less sensitive place. All this is just proof that people like you can’t handle the truth."
Shannon felt a pang of frustration, but she kept her expression neutral. "Let’s see how you handle a bit of transformation, shall we?"
Melanie flicked a switch, and a low buzzing sound filled the room. The machine began its work, a faint pink glow surrounding Brad. His smirk faltered for a moment, and he raised an eyebrow.
"What's that supposed to do?" he asked, trying to keep his tone steady.
Shannon leaned in, her voice soft and taunting. "You’ll find out soon enough."
Brad’s eyes widened as the first change took hold. He gasped, his body tensing as he felt an unfamiliar sensation between his legs. His eyes darted down, a look of panic crossing his face. His manhood was shrinking, softening, disappearing entirely. In its place, new feminine features emerged, foreign and undeniably permanent.
"What the hell?" he choked out, his voice trembling with a hint of fear. "You can’t...you can’t just take that away!"
Shannon smirked, crossing her arms. "Oh, but we can. And that’s just the start. You’re going to get a full makeover, Brad. You’re going to experience what it’s like to be vulnerable, to be self-conscious about everything you say and do."
He struggled against the restraints, his bravado slipping. "This is insane! You don’t get to play God! You’re just a couple of insecure women taking out your own issues on me because you can’t handle the fact that the world isn’t all sunshine and rainbows!"
Melanie and Shannon exchanged a glance, his words cutting deeper than they expected. But Melanie shook her head, determined. "You talk a lot about the world being tough, Brad. Let’s see how you handle it when you’re the one being laughed at."
The machine whirred again, and Brad’s muscles began to soften, his frame shrinking as his shoulders narrowed and his waist curved inward. His skin took on a smoother texture, his facial features softening into a delicate, almost doll-like appearance. His chest expanded, growing into a full, feminine shape, and his waist cinched in, giving him an exaggerated hourglass figure.
He looked down at himself, horror plain on his face. "No! You can’t...this isn’t...I’m not some Barbie doll! I’m a man, damn it!"
Shannon arched an eyebrow, her voice cold. "Not anymore."
Brad’s breathing grew shallow, his bravado now completely shattered. He glanced between them, desperation in his eyes. "What gives you the right to do this to me? You think this makes you heroes? You’re just a bunch of twisted freaks, using this machine to feel powerful!"
Melanie hesitated, a flicker of doubt crossing her face. Brad’s words hit close to home, and she glanced at Shannon, searching for reassurance.
But Shannon’s gaze remained steady. "We’re here to make sure people like you don’t get away with hurting others anymore. You think you’re some kind of hero for tearing people down? Well, now it’s your turn to feel small."
The machine continued, and Brad’s body changed further. His hands and feet shrank, becoming dainty and delicate. His face softened even more, taking on a distinctly feminine cast. His lips plumped up, and his eyes widened, giving him an almost innocent appearance. His once deep, mocking voice had risen in pitch, taking on a higher, softer tone.
But the changes didn’t stop there. His voice faltered, and a faint lisp crept in as he spoke, his words slurring together.
"Wh-what did you do to my v-voith?" he stammered, a note of panic lacing his words. "I thound like a—like a thtupid little girl!"
Melanie folded her arms, watching him with a hint of satisfaction. "Oh, it’s more than just your voice, Brad. You’re going to be feeling shy, nervous. Speaking up will be the hardest thing in the world for you, even though you’ll have to."
Brad’s eyes narrowed, his tone venomous even through the lisp. "You’re nothing but bullies with a fancy machine. You’re no better than the people you claim to be protecting! You’re just hiding behind some twisted sense of justice to justify what you’re doing."
Shannon’s expression wavered for a moment, his words hitting harder than she expected. She clenched her fists, struggling to maintain her composure. Was he right? Were they really just using this machine to get back at people they didn’t like?
Melanie shook her head, trying to shake off the doubts creeping in. "We’re doing this because people like you don’t get to keep spreading hate and hurting others. You’ve left a trail of broken people behind you, Brad. Now you get to feel what it’s like to be the one who’s broken."
Brad’s body continued to transform, his hips widening further, his thighs thickening, and his frame shrinking until he stood at barely five feet tall. His once imposing presence had been completely stripped away, replaced by a petite, busty, almost delicate young woman. His face was a mask of horror as he took in his new form, his once sharp tongue now a stuttering mess of slurred words.
"Th-thith ithn’t fair," he whimpered, his voice barely a whisper. "Y-you can’t juth—thith ithn’t juth-tice."
Shannon’s resolve cracked, and she exchanged a glance with Melanie. For the first time, they felt a pang of doubt, a whisper of uncertainty that gnawed at them. Were they really making the world a better place, or were they just enforcing their own twisted sense of justice on people they didn’t agree with?
Melanie’s voice wavered as she spoke. "Maybe you’re right, Brad. Maybe we’re not heroes. But people like you… you leave so much damage behind. We’re just trying to balance the scales."
Brad’s new form trembled, his face a mixture of anger and fear. He looked up at them, his once arrogant gaze now filled with a hollow sense of betrayal. "You think you’re better than me?" he whispered, his voice cracking. "You think you’re doing something noble? You’re just as twisted as I am."
Shannon’s face fell, his words cutting deep. She looked down at him, at the new life they had forced upon him, and for the first time, she
felt a pang of doubt that she couldn’t shake.
"We’re done here," she muttered, her voice barely audible. "Let’s get out of here."
As they left the room, Melanie glanced back at the fragile figure they had created, a pang of guilt twisting in her stomach. For the first time, she wondered if they had crossed a line, if they had become the very thing they sought to destroy.
