The complaints about the commercialism of Disney have barely left your lips when a sudden, firm grip on your arm stops you. You whirl around to see a wide, grinning face – a face you know all too well. Olaf. He's larger than you remember from the movie, his plush costume almost dwarfing you.
"Hey there!" Olaf cheerfully chimes, his tone as sunny as a summer day. "You look like you could use a bit of Disney magic!"
Before you can even formulate a reply, you're spirited away across the park, dodging happy families and excited children, until the towering icy facade of Elsa's castle looms in front of you. Elsa, every inch the queen with her platinum hair and shimmering blue gown, confronts you with a cold stare. She's had enough of your negative attitude, she proclaims. You're ruining the magic for everyone else. She decides to teach you a lesson. You’re going to understand the joy and responsibility of being a princess.
Elsa raises her hands high, casting a shower of glittering magic over you. Her voice swells in the frosty air, the melody of "Let It Go" but with a new set of lyrics.
"The past is in the past, let it go, let it go,
Feel the change within you start to grow.
Your former self now out of sight,
Embrace your princess heart tonight.
Let it go, let it go,
Watch your form soften and flow.
Gentle curves, petite and light,
Reveal Anna in the moonlight.
Let it go, let it go,
Auburn braids around you blow.
Eyes so blue, lips cherry bright,
Underneath the castle's light.
Let it go, let it go,
In royal garb, you start to glow.
Soft satin against your skin,
The transformation now begins.
Let it go, let it go,
As dainty as the fresh fallen snow.
Your voice so sweet, pure delight,
Princess Anna is in sight.
Let it go, let it go,
In your heart, a warm glow.
Caring, brave, forever kind,
A new persona, you shall find.
Let it go, let it go,
Your old self, no one will know.
Be the princess, be the light,
Say goodbye to the man you were tonight."
Her song fills the night, each word resonating with a powerful magic that reshapes you. From head to toe, inside and out, you are no longer yourself. You are Princess Anna of Arendelle, and your transformation is complete.
Your body condenses, your height diminishing significantly until you're standing at a petite 5'3". Your broad shoulders narrow, losing their masculine strength as they shift into delicate, dainty ones. A sensation wraps around your waist, like a belt being tightened, drawing you inward until you're cinched in the middle, a classic hourglass figure. You glance down to see two modest, firm breasts straining against the fabric of a vibrant green bodice, a sight that makes your heart pound in your new, smaller chest.
The magic doesn't stop there. Your hips broaden, your backside rounding out the skirt of your gown in an alluring curve. Your thighs fill out, becoming softer, smoother. Your calves reduce, tightening into toned feminine curves and your feet shrink, squeezed into a pair of dainty heeled boots.
Your hair tingles as if millions of tiny ants are crawling over your scalp. You reach up to scratch, but your fingers come in contact with thick, silky braids. Your hair has lightened to a strawberry blonde, cascading down your back in two hefty plaits.
Your face feels tight, almost as if you've applied a face mask that's started to dry. Your features shift under your fingertips, your nose shrinking, cheeks becoming rosy, and lips swelling into a plump, girly pout. Your eyelashes brush against your cheeks, extended into a dramatic fringe that any woman would envy.
You stare at your hands, your fingers are slim, tapered, with manicured nails painted a pale pink. Your whole body feels different, more delicate, more graceful, more feminine.
The reality of your transformation sinks in as you catch sight of your reflection in a polished ice sculpture. A beautiful woman with wide blue eyes and high, rosy cheeks stares back at you, the spitting image of Princess Anna.
You want to yell at Elsa, to demand your old self back, but when you open your mouth, the voice that slips out is not your own. It's a sugary sweet soprano, echoing Anna's lines from the movie. "Why, hello there! It's so wonderful to meet you!"
The day
is a blur of autographs and pictures, of dances with Elsa and hugs from Olaf. Each time you try to voice your distress, your pleas for help, Anna's words blurt out instead. You try to tell a park employee about your situation, but your voice chirps, "Do you want to build a snowman?" When you attempt to explain your predicament to a mother, you instead say, "For the first time in forever, I'm finally understanding!"
Every effort to assert your true identity only results in more of Anna's lines, her cheerful optimism silencing your despair. You have become Princess Anna, your very being radiating the warmth and kindness that has made her a beloved character worldwide. You are the fairytale brought to life, the joy and laughter of countless children resting on your petite, costumed shoulders. The girl you once scoffed at, the girl you've now become.
