“..Actually you can forget me, my number I don't care anymore because I found real love and you know what... I'm with Cherry ..” The last words through the phone hit particularly hard. Not because Bryce didn't deserve it, they totally did. Just not for the reason Jenny thought.....

Bryce took a handkerchief and blotted away the tears from their eyes. They hadn't noticed the woman that had sat down across from him. She had moved almost silently. “This seat is available right” She had said, matter-of-factly after taking her seat. Bryce still in shock had not responded but looked at this mysterious stranger.

“I am probably going to be leaving soon so you can have the whole table, “ Bryce said. The pain in their voice was evident.

“You know, Jenny would have accepted you as you are,” The woman said. How did she know? “You should have introduced her to Riley.”

Bryce hung his head, the stunned silence spoke volumes. How did this woman know “I don't know-” He sputtered out.

“Please,” The woman said, “don't waste your time or my time by trying to lie, lies have hurt you enough don't you think? Jenny found that bra in the laundry and you didn't even bother trying to tell her it was yours did you?”

Bryce held their head down. The scene replayed back mentally, the angry girl holding the large purple bra. It was Bryce's, Bryce had been seeing a therapist for a while online dealing with their gender dysphoria, but they hadn't wanted to burden Jenny.

Bryce looked the woman in the eyes. The face looked so familiar as their eyes focused on the person in front of them. “You deserve to be happy Bryce! You don't need to hide me and show me to the world. Bryce saw the woman, it was their inner woman.

“Riley?” He asked. The woman smiled, she was beautiful to behold. This was the life they wanted. Bryce never left the restaurant. Riley drove home that night and it was her that knocked on Cherry's door the next morning. They were owed an explanation. The 3 of them celebrated pride together........
