“- and I swear Mr. Takeoshi I won't let you don't down. You have no idea how much this internship means to me. “ You say, tears were forming in your eyes. Probably from relief though this was your last chance to get an internship. If you hadn't gotten it though, you wouldn't have been able to graduate on time. Even though this wasn't the big glamorous fortune 500 company you had hoped for, Takeshi imports would certainly be a strong enough notch on your resume that you almost certainly were going to be able to graduate on time.
You stood there in your badly ironed suit and exhaled it was good to have gotten this over with. Your close-cropped brown hair and your stubbled face betrayed a man stressed beyond reason but looking well kept. You were sure you had soaked this suit with sweat with your nerves. Hideo Takeshi walked to you. “I trust you'll be a great addition even in the short term. We'll see you on Monday Jeremy” He said giving you a supportive pat on the back.
You gathered up your briefcase, one that you got from your father upon finishing your undergraduate degree. You were going to uphold your family's tradition and get an MBA and go into business. It was probably a little small and he clearly had bought it second hand. The chocolate brown leather was creased and cracked in places, and the combo lock didn't work anymore.
“Thank you again, sir, I will be here bright at early,” You said again your words stumbling a bit as you struggled to get the sentence out. You walked out of his office and pulled out your phone it was noon exactly dialing the number you know from memory it rings once. “hello?” said a sleepy female voice.
“Hi, mom, sorry to wake you I know it is still early there, but I got the internship,” You said voice dripping with pride. You held back shouting it as you were still milling through the sea of cubicles and knew that would disturb someone and you didn't want to do that. “That's great sweetie,” The woman said, “I am sure you'll do great.”
“Ok mom, I'm sorry I'll let you sleep we can talk later,” You said, hanging up the phone. Where was that elevator? You knew it was around here somewhere. Probably in no time, you'll have the hang of this large complex. You looked down again at the phone it had only been 2 minutes but it felt like forever.
You took your eyes off of where you were going for the half-second, and your foot caught the edge of the cubicle you were passing. You stumbled and caught yourself on the wall. Startling the young man inside. You whispered a sorry and a half-wave to the man inside. These new shoes were still getting broken in and you weren't sure what you thought about them yet. Your hair swept across your forehead. It was getting to the length where you could feel it move. Still looks neat but you probably should get a haircut.
Looking around you found your black briefcase on the ground. Thankfully the latches had held and it didn't look like there was any damage to the lock. Your girlfriend had bought you this for your first day at your new job. She was the best so supportive of you. You had just graduated with your MBA and this entry-level executive position was just what you wanted. Your phone beeped with a phone call, it was your girlfriend,
“Hiya babe, “ Your voice sounded high to your ears for a second and you cleared your throat.
“Did you see the special thing I left in your briefcase?” She said seductively.
“no,” you say your voice cracking a little. You pop it open the shiny black leather looking crisp and new. “Oh wow,” you say breathlessly. While hiding it from view you see a tiny piece of lacy fabric. Your girlfriend has left her thong in your briefcase. “babe..... my boss could have seen it” You say nervously whispering.
She just giggles “you can try the matching bra when you get home,” She says. What did she mean to try? You scratch an itch on your leg almost like lace was rubbing against it. You should be used to it by now, you've been wearing panties for years now. You had gotten into the habit shortly after grad school, about 3 years after you started working here. No one knew but your company's very liberal policy toward LGBTQ+ surely would have kept you protected.
You weren't sure why you were wandering around the first-year cubicles. You found your red leather satchel on the ground where you had dropped it. You had swapped out from the briefcase a few years back. It just was more your style and not to mention it gave you a lot more storage. You walked towards the elevator and your phone rang. It was 12:15 lunchtime so it was probably your fiance checking in. He was so thoughtful.
“Hi,” You said your voice taking on a cheery ring to it. Your silk shirt is feeling nice against your sensitive skin. You had finally taken the plunge and paid for the laser removal. You were sleek now, almost like an otter. You brushed your shoulder-length hair out of your face. Your bun must have come loose, almost like second nature you gathered the hair up into a ponytail, yeah it didn't look professional but it would do for the moment.
“Hey yourself, I know you're busy but we're still meeting for lunch.” His deep voice sounded over the line.
“Of course silly, why wouldn't I want to see my main guy? Just cause I'm a junior level manager now doesn't mean I didn't want to go celebrate with you”
“Oh good,” he said “I know you have your career and I respect that, but we have some wedding stuff to work on”
You nodded, remembering your spring wedding. A warm June wedding. “See you later babe,” You said idly scratching an itch in your side.
Again you stumbled, this time it felt like the world rushed up to meet you. You felt the jiggle in your chest as your boobs jostled. June weddings were nice, you remembered yours like it was yesterday even though it was 3 years ago. Now you and your husband were just trying desperately for a kid. Your low vantage point got a little better as you raised up on wedge pumps. Your hair came loose again, but this time you just left it to hang around draping down to your full breasts. You were proud at 30 you were one of the youngest VPS. Your phone went off, a text from your husband, you thought of the big mountain of a man and how safe he made your tiny body feel. His 6'2” frame towers over your 5' one. He was reminding you to take your temp, remember you need to try to figure out when you were ovulating. Where were you going again, that's right your office.
You ran to the elevator, catching your reflection in the door. The gray was just barely starting to show, and maybe your boobs just began to sag, but you were 37 years old dammit, had 3 kids, and was the COO of the entire company you were entitled to a little sagging. You rounded the corner in a sharp charcoal blazer. You probably would take over this company when your father Takeshi-san retired. As the daughter of a Japanese immigrant, your maple brown hair hung over your lightly tanned skin. You spoke both English and Japanese fluently. Held an MBA from Oxford and were the top star under 40 on the business report. Your life was great and even if it was your father's company. Juniko Takeshi was going to be the best Girl-boss ever it was only a matter of time. You smiled looking at your phone at 12:30 your stay-at-home husband had sent you a video of him and the girls. You loved your family and needed to succeed for them as much as yourself.
