Inspired by the Olympics you decided you wanted to try to ice skate. You had tried at one point in your life but had been a pretty big failure. Either way on a cold February morning you made your way to a local ice rink. You arrived and were stunned to see how full the parking lot was. You made your way to the door of the rink and made your way into the complex. There were three rinks in the building and it looked like one of them was having a competition of some sort.
Walking into the rink you went over to the register to get a pair of skates. “Hi” you greeted the woman at the register warmly, “I would like to rent some ice skates and more likely than not I should probably get a helmet if you have one of those, I haven't skated at all in over 20 years, and would hate to get my brains to splatter all over the ice. “ You laugh with a nervous chuckle.
She grins a grin of a service employee that's heard that lame comment at least 30,594 times this month, especially with the Olympics, people are just showing up in droves. “What size?” She asked numbly probably from the cold and overwork.
“Size 12,” You say unsure, but you just gave her your shoe size. She hands you a pair of old hockey skates. They are clean but have a lot of wear on them. She also hands you a black hockey helmet. “Locker room is in the back, there are lockers in there for $1 to use, there are attached changing rooms if you need them”
“Thanks,” you said, happy to leave this poor over-worked woman alone. You walk back to the locker room, it is really just a few benches with some locker and then attached male and female changing rooms. You sit down next to a young woman about 20 and she brightens upon seeing you.
“Oh my god I thought I was going to be here alone hi!!” she says cheerfully. Her face brightened into a huge smile.
You don't recognize this girl, was she a child of a co-worker or a neighbor. “hi” You say back quietly. She turns to face you.
“Nervous huh?” She asks with a knowing nod. Her blonde hair bounced with the motion. “I guess that makes sense”
You did feel a slight twinge of nerves maybe that was just your unease about being on the ice. You did feel a flutter of anticipation. You looked down at your hands they felt cold. You looked at your long slender fingers and, metallic silver pedicure. You rubbed them together, they looked a little wrong but you couldn't place why.
“I guess,” You said feeling the nerves just a little bit more, this girl was seeming a little familiar her name was Susie, Sara......SALLY yes this was Sally. “I am not sure why Sally, it is just a Saturday skate, I mean haven't skated in years but.....what?” You stopped when Sally started giggling.
“Wow 'just another Saturday', 'haven't skated in years' that's a good one, I know for a fact you skate all the time,” Sally said through laughter
You went to correct her, but in your head, you remember countless hours skating. The exact way to balance on the skate to be most comfortable. You just loved to skate. You remember spending most of your weekends on the ice. You feel your clothes changing they are taking on black color and becoming thin and clingy but very warm. They feel tight on your legs that now are lean and muscled from hours of skating. The stretchy material feels smooth against your now hairless legs.
“Sure but it is still just a weekend skate,” You say picking up the inflections of the girl across from you. Your speech pattern falls into a more feminine cadence. Your voice, for now, is still a baritone so it does give it a slight flamboyance to it. You aren't concerned if people mistake you for gay, mainly cause you are. Your single for now, but you remember that guy you met last weekend, Gary, no Greg he was a stallion that went all night.
“Sure,” She said, “did you finish your part of the Physics project?”
Did you finish your physics project? You haven't had to do an anything project for at least 13 years. You started to feel energetic as your puffy face smoothed out. The fat that hadn't gone away earlier now melted away as your body forced itself younger and more vital. You reached down for the old rental hockey skates only to find them not there. You do see a pair of black figure skates way too small, did you grab those in error. “Sally did you see my skates I think I grabbed the wrong ones at the desk”
“Eww gross rental skates” She looks at you funny. “Are you sure you're ok? Your skates are right there, I mean who else has feet that dainty, you make me jealous, such cute tiny feet” You pick up the skates as a sense of familiarity comes over you, your dad bought you these when you graduated high school, they were super expensive and he hated that you wanted figures skates and not hockey gear, but he loved you no matter what and got them for you.
You looked down are your tiny feet, yeah it was weird for a guy to have such dainty feet, but you couldn't help the way you were born. You pulled the skates on with practiced care. Your body slimming down, even more, to compensate for your small feet. You couldn't have that much bulk and be able to stand. Someone with feet that small needed to be petite and tiny. So that is what you became. 5' even at 101 pounds. You were always the smallest of the kids, even the girls usually towered over you. You ended up being friends with the girls. They were just nicer to you, didn't pick on you for being small. In fact, that is how you ended up a cheerleader. You were the only guy on the team, but being the smallest you still ended up being the one on the top. They even had you dress up like a girl, with your long hair that wasn't a problem. So Eliza the cheerleader was born. You weren't sure how but your double life never was found out.
“Sally, does anything seem off you?” You ask, now looking up at your friend.
She frowns looking you over, “na you look fine to me Lizzie” Wait why did she call you that fake name you used in high school. She didn't even go to high school with you. Why wouldn't she use your name, it is your name after Eliza Michelle Kennison you were born with that name. Well not born exactly but your mom gave you it shortly after. They had thought you were a girl and had filled out the birth certificate before anyone caught the mistake. You were a tiny boy growing up with a very girly name, it was no surprise you became very fearful of boys. They scared you.
“Oh shoot Lizzie! You need to move it girl” Sally said. Of course girl, why would anyone with perky little boobs like this and a pretty little vagina be mistaken for a boy? “For what?” You asked your voice now a pleasant alto.
“You skating competition? you know, the thing you've trained for every night and morning for years for? The one that if you win gets you a spot in the national championship and a chance to go to the Olympics? The thing you neglected your girlfriend for?” She says leaning forward and kissing you on the lips as your now blonde hair spills down your back before styling itself for you a skater, your clothes now a cute little figure skating outfit. Your body is a well-trained machine with years of competitive skating. She lifts you into her arms now the 5'5” girl towering over you.
You are 18 year old Lizzie, an expert figure skater, you've skated your whole life. You are a freshman and just newly used to being on your own, your girlfriend Sally supports you all the way. This is exactly how you imagined your life.....”Now competing.....Eliza Kennison”
