“Yeah, I understand that and truthfully we probably could work on tightening up or pass game, but we won and that was what matters, right” Jeremy Clarin all-pro starting QB answered while wiping away some dirt from his face. “Listen I'd love to sit here and talk with you all but really I think it is time for me to hit the showers good night all”
The throng of reporters muddle around a bit longer but slowly they started filing out. This was always the case though, he thought it was the life he chose all those years ago. He remembered the deal he made back in high school.
*4 Years Earlier*
“Clarin! You lazy sack of shit you are worthless” The angry voice rang out over the field Jeremy huffed and puffed as he bent over trying desperately to regain his breath. He already felt anger welling up inside of him. He was open he had seen it. The Wide receiver was running free and he had to just loft t and they would have had an easy Touchdown. If he had simply just been tackled, they could have called timeout ran the field goal unit onto the field, and kicked a field goal to win the game. No he so sure of his low caliber throwing ability threw the ball straight into the helmet of the defender barreling towards him. It felt like an eternity the ball floating in the sky sickly end over end, until it fell into the waiting arms of the same defender, who now ran the ball 70 yards into the other direction, losing the game.
Jeremy just gave up and sank to the ground, why did this happen again? He could see exactly what he needed to do, but it was like his body garbled up the message and his arms or legs or the rest of him just couldn't process what was needed. He would be a bit too slow, or the pass just not quite fast enough He was 3rd string for a reason, but now the starter and the backup QB were hurt, possibly for the season, it might be on him the rest of the way.
He looked down, his crimson jersey marked with green grass and mud. He ran his hand along with the cold mud, maybe the earth would just open up and drag him down, and he wouldn't have to go into that locker room and look at the anger and sorrow of his teammates. God, forget his teammates, Monday in class, the entire college was going to hate him. Open wide, he willed the ground but nothing happen. The lanky freshman just sat, the wet from the ground starting to feel cold.
He finally stood up, numb, angry, and depressed, made his way to the sidelines. There were no reassurances, no friends to meet him. He started to un-tape his wrists as he made his way to the archway that led to the locker room. He got to the doorway and a towel flew over his head obscuring his vision. He looked over at the sadly smiling face of his best friend Rhea.
“It's just a game Jer, you'll do better next time,” She said. She worked in the athletics department and was an athlete herself, her dark hair tied back in a ponytail. Her bright blue eyes stared at him. God, she was beautiful, but also he wasn't her type, well maybe personality-wise, but she was attracted to a more female person.
“Yeah I know 8 more chances, I should just save them the trouble and quit now,” Jeremy said pulling the towel down. “Maybe if they play with no QB they might have an actual chance to win” He leaned against the wall, he needed to let the coach get the anger out of his system, he'd have to face the music but maybe time would take some of the vitriol out of his rant.
“I just wish I could be the player they need, but I'm not that. My best hope was just to be a good teammate learn the terminology and go down a coaching path or something, but damn this is a nightmare” He said. He wiped the sweat and mud off his face.
Rhea leaned over, “what would you give to be not only who they need you to be, but for you to be the paragon of quarterbacks.” She said conspiratorily. “I may have a solution for you, it is a long shot but meet me here after......well after the hellstorm you are about to face I'm sorry, you face to the music bud.”
“OK I'll hang around, but this better not be one of your hippy-dippy new age bullshit Ree,” Jeremy said.
“Whatever loser, either it works or you waste 20 minutes, is it worth it to you,” Rhea said.
“OK fair” Jeremy cracked a smile, the first one in a while, he breathed in through his teeth. “This is going to suck” he croaked out and headed in.
Two hours later, yes he had been screamed at for two hours straight, Jeremy came back out to the field. Rhea was waiting for him and had sat down on the players' bench. She had a small knapsack in front of her, he couldn't see what was in it but it looked expensive. He came over and sat next to her.
“Honestly I could only hear some but my god that sounded brutal. The coach needs to slow down a bit or he's going to have another heart attack.” Rhea said.
“Uh-huh” was the stellar response Jeremy came up with. “Explain how this is going to make me a better QB” He was to the point, he was sore and tired.
Rhea spread out several items in front of her, a spruce branch, a roll of athletic tape, and what looked like a pearl. “Give me your high school ring and sit down,” she said. He held it out in his hand she took it and yanked one of his hairs out too.
“Ow,” he said
“Baby” she replied with a scoff. The 5 items were placed around a circle that Jeremy saw had a piece of chocolate in the middle. “Fair maid Ravyn of the wild, I offer to you these items so that we may bargain with you,” She said somberly.
“Yeah, cause I suck” Jeremy added already feeling kind of stupid.
“Boy do you,” said a new voice. Jeremy turned to see a small woman, maybe 10 inches standing in the circle. He hadn't seen her enter she wasn't there and then suddenly she was. “I mean dude you could have just fallen down and still won the game, you are a special kind of terrible” The woman laughed. There was a glow, like the light of the moon that surrounded her, she had long dark hair and he swore iridescent wings like a dragonfly. She was also completely nude with the palest skin he'd ever seen.
Rhea just stared with her mouth open “holy shit it worked.....I mean miss Fae I greet you in the name of the....”
The Faerie held up a hand, “listen girly, I love the ritual but it really isn't needed you called me, you offered a bargain, you even threw in some awesome candy.....perfection. Ok, what is it you want?”
“Help him,” Rhea said, “he thinks the game so well, but well you saw”
“REALLY!!!” Jeremy yelled.
“So you want me to make an all-star out of a zero. Ok,” She grabbed the chocolate and hovered over to Jeremy. “You have only so much greatness, or athletic mojo to go around, if you focus it and only expend it during games or practice, would be great. So I'll help you, that's the bargain, all your strength, Dexterity, sheer force of brute power, channel it just into play. But there is a cost, you will be drained of that power the rest of your life, you will be like charging a battery, you dig”
“So I'll be just tired the rest of the time huh?” Jeremy grinned. He wouldn't have believed it but the tiny Fairy in front of him kind of made him a believer. “yes I'll take it”
“Ok done, we have a pact, “ She said floating away. “The magic will make this easier for you but it won't be easy.”
Jeremy felt energy course into him, he felt stronger, faster he grabbed a football and launched it 60 yards almost to the blade of grass he wanted. He tried another, another, and another. He looked at the fairy. “Thank you” but she was gone.
He ran up and hugged Rhea, gripping her tightly in his new strong arms. He laughed and started off the field. The moment he left the area though, he felt weak and dizzy. His arms seemed unable to lift up and heavy. He tripped over his feet and fell to the ground. Rhea came running and helped him up. Something was wrong because he was at least half a foot shorter than her.
Rhea had a stunned look on her face and stared at him. “wha-” he said a high unfamiliar voice came out.
**present Day**
Jeremy was alone in the locker room, completely alone when the usual weakness hit again. Long silky hair flowed down his back as his body shrank down to a 4'11” 102-pound size. Painlessly his body started to change his waist caved in and his shoulders rounded. His ass swelled out to a round shape, as he turned into the only form he could have whenever he wasn't playing football. He now a she felt the usual pull of his penis and balls slide up inside of him. He got up now barely able to even lift the shoulder pads off. This was the form he had to conserve all his energy in. The fairy didn't mention that his “limited athletic energy” was his male energy, so every time he became the most feminine thing he ever saw. Luckily he still had an identity, the magic saw to that, Lucy his own sister. Everyone knew him like that when he was in this form, and thankfully no one had put it together, probably some failsafe to protect the fairy.
He, well she grabbed a red purse out of a hidden locker where the was also a blue dress in there. The phone in the purse rang....it was the wife. “Hi Rhea, yeah I'll be home soon, sure we can do that” She hated how submissive she was as Lucy. "Tell the girls mommy says I love you I'll be home soon"
