Title courtesy of the commissioner, I couldn't think of any good puns and I suck at titles anyway.
Generally speaking, I don't like transformation stories that revolve around someone turning into a character from something. I guess it's partially due to that moment where that hey to go "I TURNED INTO AN X GOLLY ISN'T THAT STRANGE" that I find a bit cringeworthy. But, surprisingly, I didn't really have much of a problem with this one, other than a couple of moments that I tried to handle as best as I could. Hopefully it turned out alright.
Anyway, completely open to criticism, please tell me exactly what I've done wrong. Personally I think that I made the transformation to uneven and all over the place, resulting from the story structure I went with no allowing for a "stands still while entire transformation takes place" moment, although I think it did come close towards the end for the last bit.
Other thoughts are that I've never actually played any of the Ace Attorney games, and as such had to go by one-sentence summations of her personality and guess-work, so hopefully I'm not too far off. All I really know about the series are a few of the characters, the obligatory OBJECTION HOLD IT TAKE THAT joke, and the fact that it's actually a dystopian future where the jury system has been completely abolished, some people are mutants with the ability to literally tell when you're lying/hiding something, magic exists and express calls to the afterlife are cheap, and nobody will believe you're a lawyer unless you carry your special badge with you at all times.
Also, I have no idea what the hell to call Maya's coat/jacket/overshirt thing.
Anyway, shameless self-advertising. This was commissioned by
