“Do you seriously plan on scouring this entire forest looking for that stupid sword?” Midna protested, withdrawing from Link’s shadow just to be able to express her annoyance, as she lost count of how many hours it had been since the two ventured into the woods near Link’s Ordon home.

“If that’s what it takes.” Was Link’s usual stoic answer. “Anything that can give us the edge against Zant is well worth a few days of investigation.”

“If we actually find it.” Midna complained. “What part of ‘Lost Woods’ was unclear? All we’re doing is going in circles!”

“We’ve made plenty of progress.” Link responded, his mental map of the area nearly complete. “There’s just one more part we need to check.”

“If there’s nothing there, we’re going home.” Midna crossed her arms. “The way I see it, if that thing really is in this forest, there’s no way to get to it just by hoping we’ll stumble ass-first into it. If any old bumpkin could find it by accident, there wouldn't be any point in hiding it!”

Link had to admit that Midna had a point.

“Besides, we don’t need that old hunk of metal when we have the Fused Shadows.” Midna said proudly, still intending to personally beat Zant senseless when they collected the last of them. “You won’t even need to swing a sword at Zant when I’m- hey, are you listening?”

“Hold on.” Link interrupted, as his gloved hand pushed beyond thickened foliage, into an opening. What had previously just been dense forest gave way into a barely held together ruin. Some kind of small temple, or shrine once? Markings of stone, and signs of civilization mixed with grass and greenery that had weathered away the building into near nothingness. Only the faintest hint of Hylian ingenuity remained. Easy to see how it might have been missed, with the amount of nature that had overtaken it.

“See? I think at least we found something.” Midna didn’t even have to look at him to feel the confident grin that tilted up his lips.

“I’m not exactly sure a place this dinky would host ‘The Blade of Evil’s Bane.’” The imp commented that last part with air quotes: clearly unimpressed.

“Maybe not.” Link agreed, as he walked dead center into the ‘building.’ Where an untrained eye might’ve just seen a moss-covered stone, a swipe of a hand managed to reveal the bounty of a treasure chest. “But I bet you there’s at least 20 rupees here.” He said smugly. “I’ll buy us both dinner when we head back to Ordon.”

As he popped the lid open however, he was greeted with something odder. “That’s not money.” His brow furrowed upward. If one weren’t paying attention, they’d likely think the container was entirely empty, but an unnatural, sparkling light, emitted from a gem no bigger than a pebble illuminated what was being protected inside.

“Link, be careful.” Midna was now speaking with total seriousness. She knew magic when she saw it.

“Be careful? This thing’s so tiny it couldn’t even-” As Link was saying this, he’d already gone and picked it up. That was his first mistake. Because the instant he did, a massive flash enveloped the ruins, canopy of the woods above them, and absolutely anything and everything! Whatever Link grasped had just as quickly slipped his fingers, as more pressing worries took over.

“Link!” Midna yelled: hovering by his side, but unsure as to if she should touch.

“Aah!” The hero gasped, and shuffled back. His shoulders were hunched, as he tugged at his arms. “Something- it- it was a trap.” He was cursing himself for being so moronic. But already, he was trying to calculate what was wrong. He wasn’t bleeding, which, conceptually, was good. But he could feel something. Hot and cold. Dizziness. Wooziness. Magic. He got hit by magic, and it was running rampant through him.

The sensation of vertigo only worsened. It’s like suddenly he was lower to the ground. Just an inch. No? Two? Wait…

“Link!” Midna shouted, as if to confirm his fears. “Y- you’re. Oh no you’re shrinking!”

He sucked in a breath. Maybe bleeding wouldn’t have been so bad. Instead, he could feel it. Feel it happening more. At least half a foot now, and the rest of him was coming along to compensate: there was more room in his boots. His gloves no longer, well, fit like a glove. Even if it just stopped here, this would be absolutely humiliating! He’d look like an overgrown Kokiri!

But unfortunately, it didn’t stop there. Oh no. It wasn’t just his height. Something else seemed different. The muscles on his arms- so honed, and capable, looked to be shrinking. Diminishing. To the point of where Link subconsciously tried to knock some of the equipment off his body: shield, scabbard. Even his belt, which seemed to hang loose on his waistline, was swiftly pulled off. Anything to lessen the intense discomfort, and burden that that heaviness impeded him with: his precious tools falling to the floor.

Midna watched all this in shock, and fascination. To a certain extent, it was not dissimilar to when she got transformed into her current, still very much alluring, she would like to remind everyone, state. Only instead, she was getting an outside view. And more changes were coming. Link’s sharpened features, his masculine jaw-line. They appeared to soften. Become more gentle. His eyes, so fierce, and cunning, able to slash, and combat the most vicious of foes, widened, and became more doe-like.

Oh. And also, he(?) was growing breasts.

“L- Link. I think-”

“I’m becoming a girl?!” That tone could have been interpreted as snarky, if it wasn’t for the fact that Link seemed so shocked, and bewildered. By this point, his hands had gone to his chest, and were feeling just how quickly he was swelling. A cup. B cup. C cup. D?! He was almost as big as Telma! And he didn’t, he didn’t want to dare check to see if-

He gasped, as a new shift rocketed through him. It was like a feeling of something important just disappeared and dissipated. He couldn’t check with Midna so close, but he knew. He knew that he shouldn’t be referring to herself as a he much longer.

Panting. Panting. She was panting. The level of physical exertion such a transformation would cause in someone would be enough to make them pass out, but Link held her ground. She had her pride to think of. “I’m pretty sure-” Pant. Gasp. “I’m pretty sure it’s over…” She could hear her voice now. It was higher. Uncanny. So much more feminine. Like it was piercing the air around her.

“You should rest. Sit down.” Midna responded earnestly: hands on Link’s shoulders. She was so thin now. Frail. She didn’t want to say anything, but internally, she was wondering if Link would even be able to carry back all of her weapons and gear.

Link shook her head in disagreement: noticing how the locks of hair she held now draped longer over her face. “That gem- whatever it was. I dropped it. I need to find it again. Maybe it’d be able to somehow reverse, fix all thi- AAH!” Like glass getting shattered twice, the hero(ine) realized. Realized the changes weren’t done.

She was feeling hungry. Tremendously hungry. That might not have been too peculiar, considering the amount of calories she must have burned to have her body change to such a degree, but the rapid, gnawing need caused her hands to instantly clutch at her stomach. Where she noticed something.

With the transformation, she had felt her waist shrink, with her abs dissipating into petite curves of an attractive young woman. But through her gloves, she noticed a curiosity. A softness. As if a creamy glaze began to layer on and on to what was previously skin and bones. “N- no…” Link’s eyes widened, as she began to speculate just what this was.

“Oh. Oh, well that’s different!” A fanged grin couldn’t help but mar itself onto Midna’s cheeks, as in the face of this terrifying change, she witnessed her companion’s figure start to flub out with jiggly, jelly fat!

Upon turning into a girl, Link must have weighed maybe a hundred pounds or so. Immaculate beauty, and looks, that would have won the hearts of any man or woman at a Castle Town gala! But right now. No. She was changing. The tanned leather of her leggings began to thicken and strain, as her thighs grew and fattened. Her arms, which had gone from strong, and muscle-bound, to thin, and waifish, now sought a third alteration, as they turned gentle, and pillowy: perfect for resting a head on… If her chest wasn’t also equally as perfect, with it now growing just as big as Telma’s. Which might have been a mark of honor for some women, but much to Link’s embarrassment, her belly pushed past it.

Her outfit’s tunic bunched up, up, and up, pulling over her tummy until a blubbery belly burst forth with a cartoonish ‘poing!’ “This is… This is ridiculous!” Link huskily groaned. This genuinely might have been more mortifying than turning into a wolf… But as she said this, she also caught another spark of strangeness: as a man, Link’s voice was a tenor: not high pitched, but not too deep. It was comfortably heroic.

Moments ago, it was. Very high. A soprano that cut through the air, like she could sing at the royal opera house! But now it seems it’d gotten lower? More of an alto? It had a fatter tone to it. A more mundane tone. Like something the average Ordonian woman might talk with.

Link stood there motionless, as the final changes unraveled. Exhausted. Overwhelmed. With one quick curse, she’d gone from a powerful, striking warrior, to an overweight girl, who looked to be ill fittingly dressed in her boyfriend’s attire.

“Link? Link, are you okay?...” Midna asked: conflicted. On one level, this was a big problem. But on another… Well. Having her hero balloon into a butterball was hilarious, and at an appropriate time, she would have an avalanche of teasing to dish out.

The response the imp got, however, was Link falling down onto her back, with her arms spread out on the encroaching grass of the ruin: passing out.

“Link! Oh no Link!” Midna hovered over the hero, trying to wake her up: finger poking at the new girl’s newly minted chubby cheeks, but she wasn’t budging. She was drained to the absolute limit, and probably, deep down, hoping this was all a bad dream.

“Well.” Midna started, with her arms crossed under her nearly nonexistent chest. “In the very least, I’ve probably got a few minutes to try and find that gem that got dropped.” She said in about the most deadpan voice she could muster.

The following hours were likely a period even the most dedicated of Hyrule Historians would prefer to scrub from their lore books. If for nothing other than how unpalatably embarrassing it all was.

Midna was unable to find a single hint of the jewel that presumably transformed Link, with her having concluded it either fell into the narrowest of cracks in the ground, or simply shattered as a result of an explosion of cursed magic. She likely would have persisted in looking anyway, but the sun was slowly starting to creep down the horizon, and she had an equally creeping suspicion that Link was less unconscious right now, and more so just sleeping.

“Snrk- snrk, hnnnnzzz..” Right in the center of the mix of rubble and grass was a plus-sized, dirty-blonde hero snoring like a farmer taking a midday nap.

“Definitely just sleeping now.” Midna palmed her face, as she floated over to her transformed companion. In a quick motion, her fiery hair whipped into a malleable set of digits, as she went ahead with poking the pudge of Link’s newly minted belly. “Soft.” She said neutrally, with the tiniest hint of appreciation in it. Soft. Jiggly. Even under the (admittedly mostly discarded) armor Link wore. “Well. We can’t get a grip of things with her just taking a nap.”

Poke. Poke. Poke. Her hair jabbed the heroine. “Wake up, sleepyhead.” The imp spoke with a sardonic tone: internally wondering just how much the girl’s flab must be rippling.

“Huhn?” Link mumbled, as her eyes crept open: dazed, and confused, and disorientated, she looked down, and saw two sets of things that were particularly disconcerting. 1. She had breasts. And 2. She had a gut that was bigger than her breasts.

“W- what the hell happened?...” Link asked, as she rolled herself into a seated position, and oh. That felt weird. She was smaller. But had a heavy weight on her. Her center of gravity had completely and utterly shifted. This was like being turned into a wolf all over again.

“You ever hear the phrase, ‘don’t look a gift octorok in the mouth?’ Probably should be a little more careful next time you’re around a chest… Cause now you got one.” Midna’s hair promptly pointed to Link’s breasts, then glided down to prod her belly again. “Plus a spare bombchu.”

“Ah!” Link gasped at the touch.

“Oh, you feel that? Guess you’re a little extra sensitive now, too~.” Midna cooed in a tease, as she continued to poke at that gut. Honestly, it was kind of fun! She got lost in it for a moment, making for a humorously cute sight.

“Cursed.” Was all Link could mumble, as she put to stop to the imp’s touch.

“Yep.” Midna simply nodded.

“Cursed to turn me into a woman… and fat?” Link asked, as a red digit drew a figure-eight around her midsection.

“Mm, definitely at least plus-sized.” Midna nodded sagely, as she finally put a stop to her motions with one final pinch.

“What kind of- who would even- I can’t believe- whoa!” Link was just in the process of having an angry rant as she stood up, only for her to barely maintain her balance.

“Careful now.” Midna’s hair steadied Link from comically toppling over… By placing itself firmly on her belly. “You’re pretty ‘front loaded’ like this~.” She teased, but was quick to speak with a tad more genuine concern. “Getting turned inside out like you just did can drain you. Take it easy.” She knew all too well from personal experience.

“...Did you find the thing I pulled from the chest?” Link asked, turning away with a blush. She didn’t feel like acknowledging being coddled by a being half her size… Or a being who used to be half her size.

The shake of the head she got only made things more frustrating however. “I think we need to regroup. It’s going to be dark soon, and you’re in no shape to be out here in the dark.” Midna was practically tutting.

“‘No shape?’” Link’s eye twitched. Though deep down, she was worried. Her arms were looking big. But not big in the muscle-sense.

“Yeah, ‘no shape.’ Though I could be wrong~.” The Twili cooed through a fanged tooth. “You’re still under a few layers…Honestly? We need to assess the damage. The quickest way would be for me to strip you right here~.” In a tease, Midna’s hair went and started to tug up the front of Link’s tunic, only to be met by blushing resistance from her companion. “Alternatively? Your house isn’t that far. You even have a mirror, so you can ‘weigh in’ on things too.”

Link’s cheeks were a tomato red, as Midna let go. She wanted to go off on her for being so inappropriate in a time like this, but she did have a point. Finding shelter in a storm was better than staying standing in a hurricane. “...Is all my stuff still here?”

“Yep,” Midna pointed to a little pile she set up, after Link dropped her things. Armor. Weapons. Equipment. “Wanna test how ‘in shape’ you are? You put on about a hundred pounds. How hard’s carrying another hundred more~?”

“Huff. Huff. Huffffff.” Link practically collapsed into her foyer’s lounge chair, after an arduous, arduous trip. What should have been 20 minutes at most, turned into an hour, with the last bristles of twilight dipping below the horizon, as she climbed her way up to her abode.

Emphasis on climbed. “There is… huff. No. Huff. Single reason. Pant. Why I have to go up a ladder just to reach my house.” Sweaty. Disheveled, with a leaf or two stuck in her hair, Link looked like she’d just got back from a two week wilderness expedition.

“Didn’t you tell me once it’s because you ‘always wanted to live in a tree house as a kid.’” Midna emphasized that last part with air quotes, as she looked around. Link had unceremoniously dumped everything from her sword, and shield, to her tunic and chainmail, all onto the ground, the absolute moment she shut her door: leaving her in nothing but her underclothes.

And well… “It’s kind of cute how your tummy sticks out now.” The imp placed a thoughtful hand on her chin, as she took in the pudgy, out of shape heroine.

“Midnaaaaa.” Link groaned, as she tried to tug down her undershirt… and failed. It just naturally rolled back up partially, revealing a soft pale dome, which just caused a second groan. Link knew, from the walk back, that the transformation didn’t just make her big boned. She was softer, and as out of shape as the average Ordonian housewife, if not more so at this point.

“Hey, hey! I’m just saying! I definitely liked how you looked before, but there’s also some appeal to this look~.” Midna purred, as she floated to Link’s side.

Link just ‘hmphed.’ “I don’t need you to lie to me.” She placed her arms under her chest… Which was a unique feeling. She had a chest. Two large orbs, uncomfortably comparable to Telma’s… but also underneath was her belly, which was equally as gentle, and malleable. And also her arms. Her arms of all things were soft now! The muscle completely evaporated, as she had to learn, when it came to lifting all her equipment back.

“What~?” Midna asked, leaning into the Ordonian’s ear. “A girl can’t find another girl appealing~?”

Link just stoically turned her head to peer into the twili’s eyes. “A girl can find a fat girl appealing?” She pouted.

“Well.” Midna hummed. “Looking up close, the ‘round set of cheeks look’ is pretty nice.” She finished that with a flourish, by offering a quick peck of a kiss on each ‘round set of cheeks.’ Left. Then right.

That turned Link rupee red, as she shunked away, and shoved her hands into her face. She could feel her hand sink into her chubby cheeks, not to mention the softness of those larger fingers to begin with. “What are we going to do? I can’t exactly fight like this.”

"So," panted Link as the two broke from their embrace. "what next? I can't... exactly... fight... like this."

"I guess not." Midna agreed. "That's why I think we should settle down. We've got each other if nothing else, and isn't that good enough?"

"What!?" Link exclaimed, more taken aback by Midna's apparent decision to throw in the towel than her sudden display of affection. "But what about Zant, and Hyrule? We can't just give up!"

"Who said anything about giving up?" Midna corrected her. "You think I have any intention of not getting my revenge on that phony king? But unfortunately for me, my hero's gone and gotten himself turned into a girl who isn't in any condition for adventuring! I can live with the girl part, but with a body like that, all you'd do is drag me down."

Link immediately looked down again, making Midna wonder if she'd have to kiss her every time she got like this. Just an hour earlier she had thought him stoic and unflappable, but it seemed that becoming a woman had made Link much more emotional. More attractive too in her opinion, despite the weight. Both metaphorically and literally, Link had gotten soft.

"Don't give me those puppy dog eyes." Midna decided on poking her in the belly instead of another kiss. She'd have to earn one of those. "This is just a tactical withdrawal to restore our strength at worst. So you got turned into a big lump of a woman. Big deal! Just work it off and put on some muscle and we'll be right as rain. Do some jogging around that farm of yours!"

Link laughed, a surprisingly girlish laugh at that. Another first for him, or rather, her.

"A break then." Link smiled. "I guess I could use one."

"Just don't get too comfortable." Midna warned her. "You'll-"

"Heeeeeey! Link! You there?"

The two were interrupted by a call from outside the house: the familiar voice of Fado, Link's goatherd partner on the ranch. Link and Midna traded a glance, Link crouching just in case she was in view of a window.

"Should we pretend we aren't here?" Link whispered, Midna shrugging.

"What are you going to do, never leave your house until you've burned the weight then sneak out in the dead of night? You can't hide from your hick pals forever!" Midna said, crossing her arms. "You may as well go break the news now."

"But what should I do? I can't just walk out and say "hi, I'm a girl now, and I also happen to be fat!" Link said as if pleading for an easy way out.

"Just act natural." Midna advised, Link gulping loudly as she nervously opened the door and stepped out onto the raised front porch. Midna had some suspicions about how this curse worked that she didn't mind investigating at the expense of Link's dignity

"Ah, Link! Knew you were up there!" Fado said, but even as Link blushed and looked down on him past her heaving breasts and sagging gut, he seemed to show no visible reaction to his old friend turning into a plump young woman.

"I am! Just, uh, let me head down there!" Link said, slowly climbing the ladder down, not looking forward to having to carry her bulk back up. She stood as normally as she could in front of him with a faltering smile, only to have Fado give a slightly confused look back instead of the shock she expected. Fado was quite tall now compared to her, Link realising how much height she had lost.

"So, uh..." Fado started awkwardly, but only because the dense farmer couldn't figure out what was bothering Link. "Sorry t' bother you if you're busy, but I was wonderin' if you were up to help milk the goats after I finish bringing 'em in?"

Link blinked a few times in surprise. Why wasn't Fado shocked? Had the magic altered his perception of her somehow? Or maybe it was...

Retroactive, Midna decided looking down. She had taken a peek into Link's wardrobe while her back was turned, and the clothes she found within were distinctly female. As far as the current world seemed to be concerned, Link was always a woman. A plus-sized one at that, given that only her old and dusty clothes were smaller than her regularly used ones, and the more well-worn ones showing signs of repeated letting out.

"Milking?" Link managed to catch a slight contradiction. "Isn't milking the goats your job? While I'm around, anyway."

"Huh?" Fado seemed surprised. "You've been on milk duty for ages now! Said you were gettin' too heavy for Epona and didn't like runnin' around too much. Sure, I've been doin' my best since you've been off, but it's hard doin' double duty, ya know?"

"Oh, yeah, I did!" Link lied. "Sorry, I've just been running around so much lately..."

"Aw no, don't mind me! I shouldn't be pushin' ya! A man's supposed to do the hard work instead of a lady, ya know?" Fado hastily waved his hands, blushing slightly. Didn't he usually just act this way in front of Ilia?

Although her worries had passed, Link just couldn't help herself.

"Hey, Fado..." Link asked in an unintentionally particularly friendly voice, at least as interpreted by Fado. "Can you notice anything different about me?"

Fado's eyes widened and Link immediately felt that she had phrased it poorly somehow.

"Uh... did you do something with your hair?" Fado guessed, not being able to particularly tell, but being unwilling to admit it. "Oh! Did you lose weight?"

Fado recoiled as his well-intentioned words struck a sore spot, and Link turned her head away in a huff.

"Never mind!"

--

"All done out here, Link!"

Link wiped the sweat from her brow as she led the goats back into their pens, lifting several pails of milk up with a grunt. The first time she had milked the goats as a woman had been a slow, clumsy experience, but now, months later and with several seasons passed, it was a routine that she had practiced to perfection. It was much easier than actually herding the goats, as Epona protested whenever she climbed aboard, and she found it a clumsy experience at best these days. Just walking from one end of their field to the other was enough to make her out of breath, so she left it up to Fado, who seemed glad enough to lighten a load on Link when possible.

Link safely stored the milk away in jugs ready to be sold, the goats giving generously as usual. It was good for the village but perhaps not so good for her waistline that there was so much nutrient-rich milk to go around, its sweet taste causing Link to drink it religiously. Between this and her reluctance to exercise properly, her gut had only gotten bigger, her second chin rounder, her chest even fuller, and it was now at the point where Link worried about fitting through her house's doorway. It was just meant to be until she had gotten used to her body, she recalled that being the excuse she had used on Midna. She wondered if it would still work now, or if Midna had just decided she was a lost cause. She picked up a jug, deciding to bring it with her to Uli's house to spend dinner with her once again.

She breathed in the cool spring Ordon air on her way to the ranch's exit, recalling how she had ended up with what felt like a permanent return to her day to day life in Ordon village. First, she had announced her return to the other villagers, stating that after she had secured the safety of the kidnapped k1ds, that she was taking some time to recuperate. With the other villagers being unaware of Link's true mission, they had happily accepted her return, and in fact encouraged that she stay where it was safe. She had then procrastinated on getting back into shape for the remainder of autumn, and had used winter as an excuse for why it was impractical to expect her to lose weight so quickly. There wasn't much to do in winter besides stay inside and eat, and so Link had only gotten even more out of shape. Her life was simple enough, working on the farm and spending time with Uli, Rusl's pregnant wife, who appreciated the company in his absence, and the two quickly formed a closer bond thanks to Link's womanhood.

Eventually enough time passed that Link could no longer pretend it was merely an extended break. Even if she pretended otherwise, the world outside kept moving while Ordon remained cosy and protected by its light spirit from the dangerous outside world. Rusl returned to oversee his wife's birth, the resistance unable to make much progress without Link's efforts, although he made frequent trips back to assist them. Eventually he arranged a caravan to return the children and Ilia to Ordon from Kakariko, returning life in Ordon mostly back to normal, although cautious and on edge now that they expected monster attacks at any moment. When Ilia had returned it proved to be healthy for the amnesiac girl, helping to slowly restore her memories over a long period of time rather than some sort of instant miracle cure. Even now she had gaps in her memory, but had enough to remember most of her life in the village, the the villagers being more than happy to help create new memories for her.

And so, with life seemingly back to normal, Link had slipped into the life of an ordinary farm girl, albeit a very well fed one. She no longer wore her hero's clothes, and she didn't think she could fit into them anymore in the first place. She wore a more feminine variant of her old traditional Ordon clothes, bare-armed and with a healthy amount of cleavage thanks to her chest often compared to the prize pumpkins of Ordon's farms. She had a noticeable skirt, and it was only the preference of Ordon women to wear pants under their dresses that stopped her from embracing femininity and going bare-legged. Her hair had grown out to spill down her shoulders, and by all accounts she looked quite ordinary, with soft, rather delicate features softened further by her fat face. Being a girl was easier than Link had thought it would be, and it gave her nicer treatment around the village too. Between her gender and her weight, although she still seemed to be considered the go-to for help with just about everything around the village, they expected less miraculous results.

"Good work today, Link!" Fado called just before Link could leave, approaching her stiffly with one hand behind his back, very obviously hiding something. "Here!"

He thrust out his arms, holding a bright yellow flower in his hand. From her shadow, Link could hear snickering.

"I-I-I just happened to see this growin' on the end near where the goats like grazing, and I thought it'd, ya know, brighten up your house!" He went red in the face, Link quickly taking the flower before he passed out.

"I'm sure it will." Link said politely, smiling as she left before he got the chance to make a fool out of himself. Rather than be disheartened by her mild reaction, he looked excited that he had managed to give it to her.

"Well aren't you popular! That big lug has such a crush on you." Midna continued to snicker, watching over her, or perhaps under her, as always. "If only he knew!"

"I don't think I want to explain it to him." Link sighed. "Fado's nice, but I don't think you'd want to share."

"I might have to eventually." Midna said, sounding casual but also like she would only give Link up very reluctantly. "If you sit around here long enough those busybodies in villages like these always start asking when you're going to get married."

"Let's see if we can change me back before we worry about that." Link, despite feeling much more like a woman than a man these days, still wasn't entirely on board with the idea of being somebody's wife. Sure, Uli seemed happy with a man like Rusl, but still, romance with a man was just...

"We haven't made a bit of progress in figuring out this curse of yours since the day it happened." Midna reminded her. "You don't think you'll change back to normal and take that blubber of yours with it, do you?"

Link's pout gave away that she did expect that at least a little, and Midna once again felt like she didn't know what she was going to do with this girl. She had guessed that Link's softer personality was due to having a different life as a woman in Ordon, one that couldn't be fixed without transformation removing her laziness and sensitivity. The two could be described as lovers and thus Midna had given her a lot of leeway, but she wasn't quite sure what the two were going to do in the long run, her existence being secret to the other villagers in the first place. She herself had gotten rather content with their slow, easy life here, where it seemed unaffected by the outside world. But could they really continue like this forever? Right now it seemed like it really could...

"Link!"

The two heard Uli call, waving from the entrance of the ranch with her usual motherly smile. Link waved back and lifted the jug by its handle to show her usual offering, and Midna retreated back into her shadow.

"Good work up there as always, and thank you very much for the milk." Uli said, carrying her newborn daughter in her soft arms. "Shall we go to my house? I was just thinking of putting dinner on. Or perhaps you'd like to go fishing with Colin? He really does think of you as a big sister, you know."

"Both sound nice to me." Link smiled back, having found that Uli was more than happy to have her over for dinner any night of the week. Between Uli's excellent home cooking and her new love of eating, she rarely spent a meal alone. To make matters better, or perhaps worse, Ordon was in a period of prosperity despite the world around it. The rekindling of the light spirit had reinvigorated the land around it, causing record harvests and the rivers to overflow with life, Link catching huge fish whenever she sat down with Colin and their homemade fishing rod and feasting on them with huge heapings of pumpkins and other vegetables with Uli that night. Unfortunately, the surplus of food and her excessive eating habits had rubbed off on Uli, and she had gotten rounder than she had been when she was pregnant thanks to being ever willing to indulge Link's gluttony.

Uli's face had gradually softened and grown until she sprouted a matching second chin with Link, her arms growing plump and soft, perfect for her daughter to rest in, while her gut bulged out nearly as far as her pregnancy had. Curiously she didn't mind much, perhaps due to seeing Link as just another member of the family. As the two walked, the portly wife noticed another person who Link had been rubbing off on, calling out to another young village girl.

"Ilia!" Uli called, a plump young woman leading a horse through the village turning around to face her. While not as overweight as Link or Uli, Ilia had spent a lot of time with Link in order to help regain her memories, and spending a lot of time with Link meant spending a lot of time eating. Coupled with her protective father spoiling her after her return, Ilia had the second chin that was rapidly becoming distinctive of Ordon women, and her top only barely covered the bottom of her large and round belly, her hips and thighs doubling in thickness as her arms went from slender to bulging.

"Link and I were about to have dinner!" Uli offered.

"Maybe when I'm done washing Epona!" Ilia called back, Epona being ridden less often than before, but still constantly used as a pack horse and helper. She would later join the two for a hearty dinner, the three fattening their figures further before Link retired to her house to spend some quality time with Midna.
