“Okay, what first?” Jessie said to herself as she slipped on her VR headset, brushing her messy black hair out of the way, proudly clad in her pajamas in her living room with her full setup ready for her to dance around like an happy idiot all day, controllers in her hands and the room cleared so she didn’t bump into anything or break anything again. Sure, she was shutting herself inside all weekend, but at least it counted as a workout, right? Something the pasty, sun-deprived geeky girl was in dire need of, her thick, comfy pajamas hiding her chubby body. Besides, she could have whatever idealised body she wanted to show off to her friends in VRchat, even if she was resigned to having no hope of catching a hot boyfriend in real life with her frumpy, often neglected real body. She’d never had the body-confidence to dip her toes into cosplay, but VR was all about being who you wanted to be, so she could be a hot babe in there, right? Even if looking down at the exaggerated E-cups on her favourite anime girl model gave her a sense of wistful longing and regret as soon as she took the headset off and compared them to her B-cups. Then again, her boobs had gotten a little bigger lately as a result of her poor diet, so maybe things weren’t all bad.

While only a few months into ownership of a decent VR headset, she had fallen in love with the experience and gone whole hog into it, and her favourite genre of all was horror, simple spooks amplified fivefold by her easily startled nature and the immersion of VR, no matter how cheaply the games were produced. Poorly made 3D models only enhanced their unsettling nature! Luckily for her it was a saturated market, and so she had gone on a shopping spree, buying up every dirt cheap indie horror game she could get her hands on or download for free off the internet. Sure, most were an hour long at best, but at worst they made for a good laugh and at best had her heart racing until she was ready to tear the headset off, covered in sweat.

She ran down her cluttered library of games, wondering where she was going to start. Most of them had pretty generic titles, so why not start with the most generic title of all? She scrolled down to True Fear, a game that promised highly realistic, highly relatable scares. Truth be told she hadn’t even looked at the storefront before adding this one to her library, or was this one she had downloaded for free from somewhere or other? She shrugged and loaded up the game anyway, being surprised to find herself loading into the game and being faced with a glittery title screen written in bright pink cursive font that belonged more on a handbag advertisement than a horror game. She found herself squinting at it, wondering what kind of elaborate practical joke this was. Was this a comedy horror game, or some sort of bait and switch? Like something that started cutesy and innocent and then got more horrific over time. Well, it looked good for a laugh either way.

She pointed at the start button and found herself loaded into, perhaps unsurprisingly based on the title screen, what appeared to be a clothes store, Jessie staring into a mirror at the model assigned to the protagonist, almost groaning at what she saw: a tall, busty, heavily tanned bimbo with boobs as big as her head and a fat ass to boot, dressed in the skinniest jeans she had seen in her life and a bright pink crop top with PRINCESS printed on it in sparkling rhinestone text. She had bright blonde hair done up in pigtails and a face with more makeup on it than a clown preparing for the circus, fat lips and long eyelashes on a face with high, sharp cheekbones. She wasn’t sure whether to start laughing or not, still reeling from the whiplash. She looked down, unable to see her feet past her gravity-defying boobs, impressed at the quality of the model. It was realistic but stylised, and far better than the asset flip she had expected. It didn’t look a thing like her but moved surprisingly fluidly, Jessie particularly impressed by the arm locomotion as she moved her arms around, used to VR games with either janky arms that turned themselves inside out at bone-breaking angles half the time or simply used floating hands. Still, she would never say no to playing as a hot girl with big boobs, and turned around to face some floating text explaining what the so-called scenario was.

“They don’t have that cute top you like in your size.” read the floating pink text, a white t-shirt with a poodle on it hanging from the rack before her, obviously inadequate for her avatar’s busty proportions. That got a giggle out of Jessie, starting to feel like she should have seen the joke coming. Of course, true fear, she rolled her eyes, the truest of fears for a vapid valley girl. Still, Jessie thought, she could empathise with it a little. Buying clothes you liked in such an outrageous cup size must be tough…

As soon as Jessie felt even a tinge of sympathy for the avatar she was inhabiting, the front of her pajama top began to look a little less creased. In another few seconds it began to look like she was inflating two balloons under her top, the chest turning distinctly rounded, forming a tent of sorts as two huge, perky spheres forced it up and outwards. Her pajama top dangled a little at the bottom, her pale belly poking out a little when she raised her arms, with how her bust held the fabric up.

Yep, it was a secret fear of hers whenever she shopped, Jessie thought to herself, that she would be unable to find something that fit her F-cups without being plus-sized and looking like she was wearing a bedsheet. It wasn’t easy being busty, and sometimes she liked to pick flat-chested avatars just to know what it was like to be able to easily see her feet.

She pressed a button on her controller to advance, the scene fading out and being replaced with her in the store’s change room, this time wearing booty shorts instead of skinny jeans. She saw text floating around her behind and turned to see it, only for the text to move as well, seemingly attached to the position of her butt, which got another giggle out of her. She turned her head, reading the new text.

Moving onto the next one, Jessie found herself staring at a nearly identical bimbo dressed identically to her, the only difference being that the other one had slightly different facial features and a different hairstyle.

“Veronica wore the same dress as you.” The text said, Jessie cringing a little as this hit too close to home. That had happened to her once and it was really awkward, the one time she had referred to a fashion magazine’s headlining piece to try to make up for her lack of fashion sense. Luckily, she thought to herself all of a sudden, ever since then she had decided to diversify her wardrobe, and so her simple, not particularly fashionable wardrobe suddenly became packed with the most fashionable brands. Fashion was her passion, after all! If she was always dressed to impress, there was no chance of another mishap like that!

She pressed advance again, then suddenly tripped over her own feet somehow, landing face-first in her own pillowy boobs, her airbags sparing her from the worst of the impact as the new scene faded in.

“You broke a heel.” the text simply read, and Jessie was sure that this would have been relatable to anybody who owned at least one pair of heels like her. She was always worried about tripping in those things and only owned a single pair for special occasions… until now, anyway! Her stuffed wardrobe was crowded even further, her sneakers replaced with tall high heels and glamorous boots. Her collection were all so cute, it’d be a tragedy if she broke one of them! Luckily, she was so well-practiced in them, she hardly had to worry about it.

She peeled herself off the floor and moved on, the game giving her some extra text claiming that she had cleared the “clothing collection” part of the game. So far the game had been tongue in cheek, but less comedic than she had expected. After all, these were all things a girl like her had to worry about, and it was only going to get worse from here. She appeared in a bathroom, a towel wrapped around her curvy body as she noticed that her hair had turned a slightly different shade of blonde and looked quite frizzy, a far cry from the lustrous hair before.

“You used the wrong product in your hair.” The text read next to a line of no less than six or seven different bottles of hair product, Jessie’s hair fading from a pure black to a dirty blonde then to a pure beach blonde, her messy hair turning luxurious and luscious, silky smooth and perfectly combed, falling down around her shoulders in beautiful golden waves. Ruining her perfect hair like that had her face curling in distaste, Jessie not even wanting to think about that! It was a good thing she had memorised the elaborate list of shampoos and conditioners required to keep her hair in excellent shape, making her perfectly presentable even in her pajamas.

The next one didn’t change the scene, but it did change her appearance. She looked closer into the mirror, finding that her avatar was wearing some absolutely ghastly makeup, the thick eyeshadow being an ugly blue that didn’t match the ruby red lipstick that was too saturated for its own good. She had some overbearingly bright blush on her cheeks, and overall was by no means suitable to be seen in public. “You didn’t coordinate your makeup.” The text scrawled in lipstick on the mirror stated the obvious, and even somebody who barely wore makeup like Jessie could feel this one hit her right in her soul.

“Like, ew!” She recoiled from her own appearance, too disgusted to even look at it. No wonder this was a horror game! It was a good thing she knew how to apply her makeup perfectly, an elaborate kit with every colour she could possibly want appearing in her bathroom. Her skin began to smooth out, the blemishes on her face vanishing as her skin improved from constant skin-care treatments, a tasteful layer of lipstick appearing on her face as her lips puffed up, becoming full and plump, a perfect canvas for a thick tube of lipstick. She’d had to keep her eyeshadow and mascara to a minimum, but she liked feeling pretty even when she was on her own. If she had removed the VR headset right now she might have even noticed that she now had big blue doe-like eyes, her chubby cheeks thinning out to give her a very idealised, beautiful version of her old face. But as far as Jessie was now aware, she had always been naturally good-looking, and makeup merely refined it. She glanced back at her avatar’s ugly reflection and pouted, thinking that this girl in the game was a real dummy for getting this far without realising how bad of a job she was doing. What a bimbo!

She moved on, finding herself at the beach in a skimpy bikini, but with nobody in sight. She looked around for the text telling her what social faux-pas she’d made this time, reading the latest floating text.

“You got the date wrong on Monique’s beach party after perfecting your beach body.” the text explained, Jessie agreeing that that was pretty embarrassing. Not only did she mess up, but she had put so much effort into her body and then wouldn’t get to show it off! Jessie’s soft, chubby body suddenly sucked in, her slight pot belly flattening out and smoothing out into perfectly toned abs, her arms slender and fat-free under the sleeves, while her plump thighs seemed supple and smooth without any cellulite. Her unhealthily pale skin deepened into a bronze tan, Jessie looking like she spent her weekends at the beach tanning instead of holing herself up inside depriving herself of vitamin D. As much as Jessie liked VR, she did kinda wish she was at the beach right now. Maybe she’d have to arrange a beach party of her own with her friends! Still, this one wasn’t scary, it was just kind of embarrassing and regrettable. Luckily, the next one wouldn’t disappoint her.

When the world faded back in as she hit continue yet again, finding herself behind a large door at a coffee store quite like the trendy place she liked to visit. The text was outside, Jessie unable to read it from where she was standing. She pulled on the door to open it, but it wouldn’t open, even when she pulled harder. Text faded into existence in front of her, taunting her as she continued to get stuck.

“You’re trapped and can’t pull open this door to escape…” The text read, Jessie pouting petulantly as she fruitlessly tugged on the door.

“Is this supposed to be, like, a puzzle or something?” Jessie complained, continuing to pull the door until finally, out of sheer frustration, she thrust her arms forward to slam on the imaginary glass, only for the doors to swing open, Jessie standing there dumbfounded, now finally able to read the floating text that had taunted her for over a minute.

“...because it’s a push, not a pull.” it said, Jessie turning bright red. Oh no, she had done it again! But it was a mistake anybody could make for several minutes until somebody had to come over and explain it to them, right? Right???

“The game is totes scary after all.” Jessie mumbled, hitting advance and begging the game to be kinder to her as the game world faded in and out… only for the transition fade to black to be replaced in an instant with giant red text flashing right in her face!

“YOU BROKE A NAIL!”

“Noooo!” Jessi wailed as she looked down at her chipped, mismatched fingertips, tearing off the headset and holding up her immaculately manicured, varnished, and painted nails to make sure they were okay, breathing a sigh of relief at one of her greatest fears turned out to be merely a figment of the virtual world. It wasn’t fair for the game to jump scare her like that! Totally not fair! She pouted in her pink pajamas, carefully setting down the controllers and headset to go take a break on her sofa. She really was no good with scary games, the airheaded bimbo thought to herself as she sat down on her plush behind, grabbing her rose pink phone in its bedazzled case to remind herself what time her bestie’s house party was later this weekend. And that one in particular had just hit a little too close to home. But that was what made them so much fun, Jessi smiled brightly, cute enough to make anybody forgive her for being a total ditz. She confirmed that the date was tomorrow and that she should bring her swimsuit since it was going to be a pool party, which was totes fine with her.

Jessi hummed and kicked her beautiful legs happily, wondering what to do with the rest of her day. Back into virtual reality, she supposed, although maybe she’d need a break from horror games. She could hang out with her VR pals perhaps, and try to convince them this time that her boobs really were that big in real life and she wasn’t just picking an anime girl like that because she was a perv. She was even thinking about putting together a cosplay of the character for her next con, just to prove it and up her selfie game for her Instagram followers. Or maybe she could convince her hot boyfriend to come over and try out VR with her? She could play a fun horror game, and then when she got scared, he could be there to cuddle her and tell her that there’s nothing to be scared of… Ooh, that sounded totally great! And maybe she could play a VR dance game and give him a nice show of her juicy, bouncing body… That sounded like a lot of fun! Then maybe he’d stop teasing her for being such a nerd…
