Two weeks earlier...

---

"I'm leaving in a minute, Dani!" Danielle's roommate Jenny called in a singsong voice, dressed casually but fashionably with a purse slung over one shoulder and high heels on her feet.

"Sure, have fun at your party or whatever. Don't wake me when you get back." Danielle halfheartedly responded from her bed, idly tapping away at her phone as her significantly bustier and more energetic blonde roommate checked her makeup for the third time.

"If you get back tonight." Danielle corrected herself after a moment. "You don't get to bring your boyfriend back, just so we're clear. You stay at his giant house in his giant bed, got it?"

"I know, I know! You know I like, respect your space and stuff, ya know." Jenny gave an exaggerated sigh, well used to her roomie's attitude. The two of them got along surprisingly well, much to Danielle's own surprise. She had nearly demanded a different dorm when she found out she was going to be dorming with the world's most archetypical bimbo, but defying her expectations of being a shallow materialistic cheerleader stereotype, Jenny had been a shockingly good roommate. She respected her boundaries and had a tendency to put her more introverted roommate first, cleaned up after herself, kept things tidy, didn't disturb her, and seemed strangely knowledgeable at times. She was infectiously sociable, and eventually Danielle had been forced to admit that she was probably one of the best roommates she could have gotten. At this point, the only thing that still bugged her was that Jenny had a healthy social life and Danielle didn't. Which meant that it wasn't long before she was going to hear...

"Hey, Dani, why don't you come with me for once?" Jenny innocently suggested. There it was. For all of her accommodating attitude, the idea that somebody didn't want to go out and party the night away was a foreign one to the bubbly blonde. Honestly it was surprising that she didn't hear this more often. Fortunately, she had a good excuse.

"Because I'm broke." was Danielle's flat response, not even bothering to look up from her phone. "I can barely afford groceries, and I'd rather eat than drink personally. I need to get a job already, you can ask me again after that."

"This is the fourth time you've said that, Dani." Jenny reminded her. "Is there anywhere you wanna work?"

"Not really. I think I'd rather kill myself than work retail, and flipping burgers really isn't my style." Danielle freely admitted. "I'm not really a customer service kind of girl either. All I ever hear are nightmares, I don't think I've ever found anybody who liked their part time job."

"Hey, I liked my part time job!" Jenny suddenly perked up like she had solved a puzzle. "Ooh, I know, how about you get a job where I worked? They're always hiring, and I bet you'd get in easy. Plus they have great tips!"

"What'd you do, model for Victoria's Secret?" Danielle joked, and after seeing her roommate in her underwear, she also knew that it was probably a legitimate career path.

"No, but that would've been fun too." Jenny giggled. "Anyway, you should totally get a job at the Knockers I used to work at.

If Danielle had been drinking something, she would have spat it out. Maybe she should have expected her to have worked there, but it still took her off guard, mostly the part where Jenny seemed to genuinely think she was a good fit for the horniest establishment in town short of a strip club.

"Okay, okay, hold up." She held up her hand for emphasis. "I don't even know where to start with that. I should not have to tell you why that's not happening."

"Why not? I bet you'd be good at it." Jenny's staggeringly tone-deaf reply of genuine confusion as to why she wouldn't be interested nearly floored Danielle.

"Okay, never mind, I do know when to start." Danielle sighed. "Jen, have you seen me lately? Knockers is for horny jerk-offs to go to because apparently they can't make do with porn, and I'm the least sexy thing on campus."

"Don't say mean things about yourself like that!" Jenny seemed genuinely hurt on Danielle's behalf, bless her overflowing heart. "You're totes cute, Dani! Plus, you don't have to be their type anyway, you're definitely somebody's type."

"Everybody's somebody's type, Jen. It's not a compliment." Danielle wasn't exactly encouraged despite Jenny's best efforts, and didn't believe her either. Somebody with an E cup and the lion's share of potential boyfriends did not get to judge like she knew anything what it was like being her. She continued her barrage of disparaging remarks.

"I don't think they even let you in if you aren't at least strawberry blonde. Did they ask for your bra size when you applied too? "You must be this sexy to enter" and all that."

"Don't worry, that won't be a problem!" Jenny reassured her. "I really don't get why working somewhere where people go 'cause everybody's sexy is a bad thing."

"Do you know what "objectification" means, Jenny?" Danielle asked rhetorically, although in Jenny's case she nearly opened her mouth to ask her what this had to do with turning people into objects before she finally found it in her vocabulary.

"Come on Dani, it's so not that bad." She protested.

"It is so that bad." Danielle shot back. "Why don't we pretend you never said that and agree to move on with our lives?"

"Now you're just being silly." Jenny had the audacity to act like she was the reasonable one in this conversation. "Everybody likes pretty girls, so of course they're gonna want to eat somewhere like Knockers. Besides, I didn't mean that you had to be a waitress. You could do delivery instead! That was what I did most of the time, and you don't have to do both."

"Well, I guess delivery wouldn't be as bad." Danielle admitted. "I don't have to put up with a bunch of sweaty guys, for one thing. Do you still have to wear the uniform?"

Jenny nodded.

"Then that's still a no." Danielle shut it down with the intent of no further argument. Jenny looked like she was ready to go on, but begrudgingly gave in. "Sorry Jen, I'll live with poverty, which means I'm still not coming to your party."

"Come on, I'll pay for your drinks and other stuff!" Jenny practically begged, turning her vigour back to the party discussion. "You'll like it! You're only young once!"

"Sorry Jen, my parents told me to never accept handouts." Danielle kept up her disinterested tone, although she didn't have the moral integrity to tell herself that she wasn't tempted. Having no money to buy anything she wanted sucked. "So I'm not going, and that's that. Got it?"

Jenny's lips curled into a deceptively mischievous smile.

"Oh, really? Shame, I heard Alan's gonna be there..."

The unfortunate side-effect of Danielle's pale complexion was that it made it extremely easy to tell that she was turning red, and no amount of shoving her phone into her face could hide it.

"S-so?" Danielle coughed, her field of view a blur of pixels. "I don't even like him that much anyway."

Before she knew it, Jenny was leaning over her with that dumb grin of hers, pushing the phone down to reveal her.

"Really?" The smug bimbo asked.

"Really."

"Really really?"

"Really... really."

"That didn't sound like a really really."

"Okay, so maybe he's kinda handsome and kinda nice sometimes! And maybe he said he'd like to talk to me more sometime!" Danielle fumed over her armour being so easily cracked. "So what? There's loads of guys who are sensitive and dateable who aren't at that party. That party's gonna be like, ninety percent dumb frat boys anyway."

"Oh Dani, you've gotta, like, be honest with yourself." Jenny proved to be infuriating once again, Danielle having known that she could only escape the college's matchmaker for so long. "Now I'm not a psychology major or anything, but you super duper want to go to this totally fun party."

"Do not." Danielle protested weakly.

"Methinks thee does protest way too much, Dani." The ever-smug Jennifer butchered her quote with gusto.

"Okay, so maybe I do want to go to your dumb party. You happy now? I'm still broke, and I still don't want to get drunk and wake up on the other end of the campus anyway." Danielle admitted begrudgingly.

"Okay, how about this?" Jenny proposed. "I'll pay for tonight, free of charge, no matter what. I'll do it even if you don't want me to. But!"

"But?" Danielle didn't like where this was going.

"If you don't ask Alan out, you have to pay me back, and you gotta apply for that job at Knockers."

"This is stupid." Danielle instantly declared. "And humiliating. Why the hell would I take this bet?"

"'cause otherwise I'll go to Alan and tell him for you in front of everybody." was Jenny's beaming response.

Danielle could only stare back and realise that this was what being blackmailed felt like.

"Easy money." Danielle said boldly, trying to remember where she put her only ironed top.

It would not be easy money.

--

"I can't believe I'm doing this." Danielle said as she stared up at the Knockers logo. Several sweaty guys of the depressingly successful restaurant's target audience bobbed in and out of the doors, busty waitresses waving goodbye to them as they came and went. If nothing else, the workers had spirit, she'd give them that. They had to, to survive in a place like that. More guts than she had, apparently.

"All you had to do was ask him out, Dani." She said under her breath. "Just had to walk up and say it. What are you, a high schooler? Unbelievable. Now I've got to actually go to this stupid..."

Danielle steeled herself. It wasn't that bad, she repeated in her head. She was just going to go in, hope she didn't get laughed out of the building when she said she was here for the job application, and then either get the job and immediately quit, or get turned down and bounce. Then she could go back to Jenny and say that she told her so. That was worth a few drinks, right? She puffed herself up, took a deep breath, and walked through the doors.

"Hello, welcome to Knockers! Would you like to be seated?" Came the high pitched greeting from the first waitress to spot her, the hustle and bustle of boobs and butts invading the senses even more than the noise of the busy restaurant and its primarily male customers, as exclusively busty blondes bobbed between tables, with or without cheap fast food in tow. They were all clad in bright orange extremely tight shorts and tighter tops, the signature of the restaurant. The shame from being in here was hitting her hard and fast, and she had to suppress her fight or flight response telling her to go right back out the door and never come back. She had at least hoped to make it to the register, but it was not to be. For better or worse, not an eye was trained on her besides the staff, who were curious at best. Was that a good thing or a bad thing? Who knew.

"Uh, hi." Danielle forced herself to speak just loud enough to be heard over the noise. "I'm heard there was a position open? Delivery, not this."

She gestured at the other waitresses, and the g

"Of course, we're always looking to add to the Knockers family!" She said, Danielle cringing at the canned answer for god knew how many reasons. She awkwardly followed her into the back, past the employee break room, changeroom, and other necessities. Honestly it was surprisingly roomy back there, more than she expected from a franchised restaurant. Now that she was up close with the multitude of working girls who quickly eyed her before returning to work running back and forth between the kitchen and the tables, having bubbly and obviously braindead conversations between themselves, it was actually astounding how consistently blonde the workers were. Golden blonde, strawberry blonde, dirty blonde, platinum blonde, all the colours of the rainbow were there as long as it was a shade of blonde, and there was not a bust below D-cup to be found. Being near staff like this was a cruel reminder to Danielle that the world was divided into haves and have nots. It was like her chest was getting flatter just being near these blondes. Where did they even get so many of these girls? It was like they grew them on a farm and then shipped them out to each Knockers branch. Probably mixed in some cow DNA while they were at it. That or it was outright magic and they just poofed into existence than and there.

"Just go through here and you'll, like, meet the manager." The waitress explained before getting back to work, abandoning Danielle to her fate. She cautiously walked through the door to the office, where a thankfully small but normal office awaited her. The only thing unusual about it was the woman in the manager's seat, who was every bit as busty and blonde as the regular employees, even moreso due to her age. She was a textbook milf, and had absolutely gigantic milkers on top of an exposed midriff that had obviously bounced back well from several pregnancies, but still wasn't quite as immaculate as the seemingly perfect regular employees. God, Danielle realised to her horror, even the manager wore that stupid uniform! Based on her beauty, she was obviously a former employee. She would hate to have the culmination of her life's efforts be managing a place like this.

"Yes, who is it?" The manager asked, and Danielle made the mistake of talking while still surprised.

"Uh, I'm here because I heard you were looking for a delivery, Miss..."

"You can call me Mrs. Pryde." The manager said, which sounded like a stripper's name, yet somehow she appeared to be married. "Were you expecting somebody else?"

"Well, I guess I was expecting some sleazy old guy at a place like this." Danielle laughed awkwardly. It was not a remotely appropriate thing to say during a job interview, but it wasn't like she actually wanted this job anyway. If she bombed, she could consider it a successful interview.

"Actually, the Knockers franchise has been exclusively owned and run by women since the sixties. The woman said proudly. "We're quite progressive."

It took all of her willpower to not demand to know how this place was progressive. Fortunately, the manager looked slightly less giggly than the rest of the employees and almost seemed to read it based on her expression.

"You might be thinking that you're a poor fit for Knockers, but I wouldn't worry about that, Miss..."

"Danielle." she introduced herself. "Danielle Stewart."

"I wouldn't worry about that at all, Dani." The manager immediately lowered Danielle's expectations of her by using that nickname, making her want to leave yet again. "I think you'll find that once you've joined, you'll fit right in."

"Look, Mrs. Pryde, I just want to do deliveries." Danielle decided to be blunt about it. "I'll drive all over town if you want, but I'm not doing table service."

"That's quite alright, Dani. But do let us know if you change your mind later." Mrs. Pryde smiled. "As for qualifications, don't worry yourself about it. All you have to do is pass our personality test to make sure you're the right type of girl we want at Knockers."

"So, do I fill out a form for that or what?" Danielle asked.

"Nope, it's a bit later. For now, let's just assume you've passed! Don't worry, I'm sure you will." She said, baffling the young woman. This place was weird!

"Uh, thanks, I guess." Danielle muttered, really wishing that she had been more thorough and found reason to kick her out. Was she just testing her patience or something? Because she definitely felt like she deserved a medal for surviving this long. "So, where do I sign?"

"Right here." The manager reached into a drawer and produced a contract with fine print that Dani couldn't even make out without a magnifying glass. It probably wouldn't be anything to worry about, probably just some stuff stopping her from filing a sexual harassment lawsuit, but still...

"This isn't going to force me to do tables anyway, right?" She asked cautiously. "Because I'm not signing that if it's in there."

"Of course not, Dani." The manager reassured her, for what good it was worth, which wasn't a lot. "If we forced you to do something like that, you would be entitled to quit on the spot. We only have openings for delivery at the moment anyway."

Dani took the pen she offered with painted nails, and after a moment's hesitation signed the contract. How bad could it possibly be? Also, was it just her or did the ink start glowing for a second after she signed it? It was probably just her.

"Congratulations and welcome to the Knockers family, Dani!" Mrs. Pryde got up, walked around the desk, and shocked her with a quick hug that nearly suffocated her with her cleavage. She was spluttering when she pulled out, almost ready to quit already. What the hell was her deal, that was way too friendly!

"Before you start, we're going to need to take you through employee orientation and training." Mrs. Pride explained. "Don't worry, it won't take long. I'll get Bunny to run you through it. In the meantime, get changed into your uniform."

The manager retrieved a white top and orange shorts supposedly in her size, and handed them to her with a smile. Danielle looked down at them silently.

"Do I have to wear all of it?" Danielle asked after a moment of strained silence. "Can I at least just wear the shirt..."

Her hopes were doomed, and she soon found herself changing into the embarrassing attire, already feeling the self-consciousness kicking in before she had even shown it to anybody. Before long Mrs. Pryde returned with a beautiful busty blonde with only a particularly long ponytail to make her stand out from the crowd, the eponymous Bunny. God, what a name. Probably a nickname. Hopefully.

"Like, hi there, Dani!" She giggled, immediately putting Danielle in an even poorer mood. "Like, welcome to Knockers! You look totally grumpy now, but trust me, you'll love it in a few weeks. It should be extra fun, since you totally aren't the type of girl we usually get!"

"Couldn't imagine why." Danielle mumbled, only getting another giggle out of her senior co-worker.

"It sure is a mystery! We'll just have to get to the bottom of why!" Bunny smiled. Oh god, they understood sarcasm. Or at least this one did. "Anyway, our training is super easy. You don't even have to watch a video or anything! Mrs. Pryde, can you get it out?"

The manager nodded, heading over to a large cabinet which opened to reveal a seemingly ordinary door of all things, seemingly taken straight from somebody's front porch. Danielle was dumbfounded. Was she actually in the middle of a gigantic practical joke? Was this a hazing ritual for non-blondes?

"Okay, just knock on this three times." Bunny instructed like it was the most obvious thing in the world to do. "Remember, three times! Not one, not two, three times! It's in your contract! You can do more if you want, but you should start with three."

"Do you think I'm stupid or something?" Danielle demanded, her voice nearly cracking. "This is asinine. I should tear up that contract right now."

"Listen, I know it's weird." Bunny said sympathetically. "But it'll totally make sense if you do it."

"It totally won't." Danielle begged to differ.

"Just do it for me, okay?" Bunny begged, and finally Danielle relented. This place was clearly a circus, she may as well act the part of a clown. What could they possibly do to surprise her? She already expected airhorns to blare and a filming crew to jump up from behind the desk at this point.

"Fine." She said, and reluctantly reached out her hand. Then finally, she tapped. One, two three. Nothing to it.

"Like, there, are you happy now?" Dani asked with a pout. "Gawd, you guys are soooooo weird. Why do I have to knock on this dumb door anyway? I'm totes not a bimbo like you guys, I don't need to do dumb stuff like that, like, geez!"

Dani paused after her outburst. Huh, that was a little weird. Was her voice higher pitched than usual? And like, more like Jenny's? She felt kinda weird too, a little pink, almost. Her uniform felt really tight now too. And why were those two smiling at her so much?

"Like, what?" Dani said dumbly as Bunny began to giggle. "What is it? Stop being so weird!"

Bunny pointed downwards, and Dani's eyes obediently followed, where she was met with two large tanned orbs practically bursting out of her top. Dani paused, then squealed.

"Omigod omigod omigawd!" Dani squealed, grabbing and squeezing her huge new breasts in total disbelief. "What is this, what did you do, what did you do? My boobies are huge! And my butt is like, wow!"

"I love seeing them do it the first time." Bunny admitted to her giggling manager as Dani rushed over to the closest mirror to ooh and aah over her new body. "It like, never gets old."

"Hey, shut up, that's mean!" Dani complained, squeezing her but and taking in her new curves. "Wow, I'm like, super hot now! So that's how you guys are all so hot, it was super weird! I don't get it, but I get it now!"

"Do you like it?" Bunny asked.

"Like, yeah, obviously!" Dani proclaimed. "I'm kinda freaking out, but I like it!"

"You're taking it better than the last girl did." Mrs. Pryde commented. "Poor girl just fainted right away."

"Yeah, because you're supposed to tell people before you do stuff like this to them! This is super mean, you know, even if I'm hot now!" Dani, despite her lightheaded, almost elated feelings that was keeping her stable, felt like she was going to panic at any moment at the apparent actual magic that had been cast on her. Eventually, some semblance of reality caught up with her.

"Omigawd, am I stuck like this!? What if I'm stuck like this? What'll everybody say? What am I gonna do!?" Dani started to panic, her newly expanded chest heaving.

"Just calm down, you don't have to worry about it, you can change back." Bunny quickly assured her. "It's really fast and easy too!"

"It is?" The almost hyperventilating Dani asked weakly.

"It is! Just take this!" Bunny handed her a strange pink ball that looked fun to play with. "They have these in the change room, and in the cars too. Well, the newer ones have a button, but it's the same thing. Just squeeze it a few times, okay?"

Dani began to squeeze it for dear life, and in a few moments her uniform sagged and she was normal again. She gasped in relief in the mirror, watching her newly blonde hair fade to black and her chest back to its sad original state. The totes hot Dani was gone, back to plain old boring Danielle. She however kept squeezing the ball well past when it had any actual effect on her, and they would soon have to practically pry it out of her hands.

Eventually, the otherwise stunned into silence Danielle spoke.

"You're witches!" She accused in this blatant display of obvious witchcraft.

"We are totally not witches." Mrs. Pryde calmly corrected her. "The witch who made the first restaurant first was, but we aren't. The actual witches would get upset at us if we said we were."

"You're still using magic though!" Danielle said accusingly. It wasn't the fact that magic existed that had her indignant. Magic was, in essence, a bit of an open secret. Everybody knew at least one person who had a curse cast on them or was suddenly transformed at one point, but magic users rarely came out in the open, and it was a bit of a guessing game which urban legends were true and witch ones were false. It was just that nobody expected it to happen to them, and especially not in a place like this, in a way like this.

"That's just part of the restaurant's contract." Mrs. Pryde explained like that should have been obvious. "You saw your signature do the glowy thing, right?"

"You're right, it did do a glowy thing." she admitted. "But still! Magic! Actual magic! For something like that!"

"Well, of course." Mrs. Pryde said. "How else do you think all of our workers are like this? Genetics? Don't be silly."

"Everybody is like this?" Danielle said incredulously. "So, like, you guys too?"

"Technically, yes." Mrs. Pryde stated. "Not that I've changed back since I got married, or have any intention to."

"Most girls change back when they're not on shift, but I do it full time." Bunny explained as if it were a simple matter. "Nobody notices that you've changed, so we just like, leave it up to however you wanna do it. I like being hot, so, like, it was a real no-brainer."

"And that isn't a problem at all!?" Danielle exclaimed. "Because it sure sounds like it!

"You're right, it is." Bunny admitted. "We have like, a super high turnover rate 'cause so many girls like it so much they wanna quit and do modelling and stuff instead. Which is totally okay according to the contract, so it's super common."

"And they don't mind being dumb?" Danielle demanded to know, not caring about hurting their feelings by saying the obvious. "Because I was definitely acting like a total bimbo when you did that weird magic thing to me!"

Bunny simply shrugged. "Did you mind when you were changed?"

Danielle opened her mouth to retort, then found that she didn't actually have an answer. That... was a good point, actually. She was panicking about how sudden it was, but she certainly hadn't minded the actual change. That was almost worrying.

"And what was that personality test, anyway?" Danielle couldn't help but ask.

"Oh, that." Mrs. Pryde laughed. "We just wanted to see what you're like after you've changed. Some girls get very catty after it, you know. Don't worry, you passed."

"So you know how in TV and movies and stuff, the blondes with big boobs are usually like, huge bitches and mean cheerleaders and stuff?" Bunny added.

Danielle nodded.

"We don't want that kind of girl working here. They make terrible waitresses. So we just wait to see if you're nice or not after you've changed, you can usually tell pretty quickly. And I get the feeling you're totally sweet like that! I can't wait to spend more time with you, Dani!" Bunny beamed.

"You know what, never mind." Danielle groaned. "I've had more than enough magic for one day. I'm just going to go home and, like, try to not have my brain explode from all this."

"Actually, we need you to do some deliveries." Mrs. Pryde stopped her before she could leave. "You're on the clock, after all."

"You can't be serious." Danielle moaned. "You want me to do that thing again?"

"Not right now, just when you get there." Bunny clarified. "The curse is that you knock on the customer's door, then-"

"The curse!?" Danielle exclaimed.

"It's not as bad as you think! That's just, like, the official category or whatever! The witches get really mad at us if we don't say it right!" Bunny protested. "Anyway, the curse is that when you knock on the customer's door, you change a bit each time. Three knocks is Knockers's legal standard, so that's how many you gotta do when you get there. Like we said, you can totally go higher if you want, most girls like to do four or five after a while, but you gotta do at least three. Then you just take their order and move on!"

"First of all, that's ridiculous. Second of all, do I do that at every house or what?" Danielle crossed her arms irritably.

"Yeah, it only works on the first customer's door. So every door after that, like, doesn't count less you change back and reset it." Bunny clarified. "So you can change back in the car if you want, 'cause they've got that ball thingy in there. Most gals think that's a pain, so they don't bother."

"We're legally obligated to allow you to change back after each delivery." Mrs. Pryde explained after Bunny finished. "Originally back in the sixties you just changed once and only changed back once you quit, but then Knockers got sued by the mom of a witch who totally bombed her exams 'cause she was working part time at Knockers. So then it was just for the shift, then they changed it to after each delivery. So it's easy, right?"

"So do I have to worry about turning myself into that thing every time I touch a door from now on?" Danielle asked cautiously.

"Nope, just the customer's door. The curse is really specific." Bunny cheerfully reassured her. "You can knock away at any other door you like! Besides the one we use here. We actually have one in the changeroom, you know."

"So, I just have one question." Danielle said after taking it all in. Witches, magic, she got that part. Not entirely, but she mostly got it.

"What is it, Dani?" Mrs. Pryde smiled, totally unperturbed by her reaction to this whole debacle.

"In here, I get it. I get it in the restaurant. You've gotta make the guys happy and everything, I totally get it. But exactly what part of this delivery thing requires me to turn into a massive blonde bimbo every time I deliver a pizza!?"

"Because we want to bring the Knockers experience to your front door." Mrs. Pryde recited. "Who wouldn't be happy to have a hot girl deliver their food? You can even pick which delivery girl you want!"

Gross, Danielle thought.

"And, you get big tips! Like, way bigger tips than every other delivery service gets!"

"How big are we talking?" Danielle's greedy side kicked in as she was finally reminded why she came here in the first place. Bunny giggled.

"Depends on how good your service is!"

She winked and cupped her chest. Gross. Danielle took the keys to the company car from Mrs. Pryde, but she stopped her right before she could finally get out the door and temporarily away from this madness.

"Before you go..." Mrs. Pryde asked. "Why'd you choose to work at Knockers? You certainly aren't the type of girl who usually decides to work here."

"Yeah, I kinda got forced to by a friend." Danielle sighed. "She kept telling me I'd love it here for some stupid reason, and I guess all this is the stupid reason. She used to work here, after all."

"Who was it?" The manager asked.

"Her name was Jenny, if you knew her. She was probably working here less than a year ago, I assume." Danielle said, clearly sparking a reaction from the two.

"Oh, Jenny, I remember her! She was so nice! I miss working with her." Bunny squealed. "Yeah, she's totally the type who'd tell somebody like you to work here! She's totally right, by the way, you're gonna love it here."

She probably didn't even need the transformation, Danielle thought snidely to herself, not quite thinking out the wider implications of it. But she had been through enough for one day, she couldn't be faulted for missing one small thing.

"Sorry, but I can tell you for a fact that she's wrong."

"Tell me that again in a month, 'kay? They all say that." Bunny simply giggled. There was too much damn giggling around here, it was doing Danielle's head in. She almost wanted to change into Dani just to make it stop bothering her.

"Actually, now that I think of it, why the hell didn't she tell me about this magic stuff?" Danielle realised. "Did she think she was being funny or something? Or maybe she thought I wouldn't believe her-"

"Actually, she couldn't." Mrs. Pryde explained, swiftly cutting in before she could get madder at her roommate. "The contract stops you from revealing magical details about your employment, you simply can't talk about it out loud. You can't write it down either. And don't try to get around it either, the contrast gets really nasty if you look for loopholes... But it's okay now that you're both employees! You can talk with ex-employees just fine."

"Oh, wonderful, great to know. Now I can give her a piece of my mind when I get back." Danielle gritted her teeth.

"After your shift!" Mrs. Pryde said sweetly. "Bunny, could you like, show her to the car?"

--

And so, Danielle completed her first shift, and reluctantly her second after finding out just how good those tips really were, until eventually she reached her current load of deliveries. She still hadn't quite come to terms with it, but after two weeks it was starting to become strangely routine. It was crazy how quickly she got used to it. What was next for Danielle was...
