“It’s too expensive! We’ll never be able to afford it!”

“It won’t work without it! If we keep cutting corners we won’t even make it off the ground next time!”

“You just haven’t put enough elbow grease into it!”

The oh so common sound of two young women bickering emanated from the lab on the hill, disturbing an otherwise peaceful and sunny day on the island, some of the residents occasionally joking that they had to set up shop so far away from the main town to avoid attracting noise complaints.

“Wishful thinking won’t improve the fuel efficiency!” yelled Roll Caskett, the blonde engineer inevitably heated in this situation. Usually calm but cheerful, she inevitably lost her cool around her sky pirate counterpart.

“And you can’t solve all of your problems with fancy custom-made parts!” Complained Tron Bonne, reaching for the blueprints, only to have Roll snatch them away before she could cross out a few of the zeroes on the estimated zenny it would take to manufacture their latest attempt to get Mega Man off the moon. The two initially believed that working together would make things go twice as fast, their repeated failures and subsequent arguments over funding had caused them to bicker constantly, eventually driving off their respective families who decided it would be best to simply stay out of their way. The lab was practically a rocket of its own, waiting to explode.

“Just give it a break already! We did things your way last time and where are we now? Back to square one!” Roll ran her hands through her spiky hair, sick of Tron’s budget-mindedness. “This time we’re going to do things my way, and that means not skimping!”

Roll held the blueprints to her chest defensively, Tron rushing her and trying to wrestle it free.

“Just let me take half off the price! No, a third! I can’t stand watching you waste money like this!” Tron grunted, Roll attempting to shove her face away.

“If you use junk parts, all you’ll make is junk!” Roll insisted. “That’s why Mega Man kept making scrap metal out of those machines of yours!”

“My machines were perfect, your pal is just a freak!” Tron grumbled, Roll eventually making a dash for the door.

“We aren’t changing the plans this time, and that’s that!” Roll said, stomping her foot for emphasis.

“Fine! Have it your way!” Said the steaming pirate, but with her finger brandished accusingly. “But just how do you plan to pay for all of this, anyway? Tiesel’s off working on some get rich quick scheme, and your grandpa’s on that research expedition! Money doesn’t grow on trees!”

“By working for it like an honest person. You should try it too sometime.” Roll said with a disapproving glare that condemned Tron’s preferred lifestyle. “In fact, I just got a job, unlike you, who only seems to be interested in professional complaining!”

“A job? What, your little side-business finally took off?” Tron said, gasping for breath and sprawled out on the floor. “I thought you said there was too much competition for a mechanic from out of town to get any work around here?”

“There is.” Roll said, putting the plans in a nearby toolbox and locking it to stop Tron from revising the numbers behind her back. “The local businesses are too entrenched, everybody on this island only trusts natives. I can hardly find work changing lightbulbs as a freelancer.”

“So what, you got an apprenticeship to worm your way in or something?”

“I thought about it, but it wasn’t worth it. I got a job as a waitress instead.” Roll said, exhaling as she calmed herself down. Tron always got her so worked up for some reason! She was loud, and she was stubborn, and she felt strangely threatened by her whenever the topic of Mega Man came up. But she had to be the responsible one or between their engineering woes and Tron’s tendency to suggest wild schemes they were never going to make it past the exploding-on-launch phase.

“Seriously? Waiting tables? Imagine having to work for a living.” Tron turned her nose up dismissively.

“At least I’m actually making money, unlike you.” Roll ignored her.

“Oh please, while you’re working your silly little job I’ll just go make the cash we need my own way. Sure, Tiesel took the servbots with him, but heck, with the two of us I bet we could pull off a real showstopper of a plan! What do you think?” Tron’s eyes gleamed as she came up with another heist, only for Roll to march up to her and stare her right in the eye.

“I am not building this rocket with stolen money.” Roll said sternly, Tron recoiling slightly under her pressure. “If I find out a single zenny wasn’t lawfully earned, I’ll tear your parts out and build it myself!”

“Alright, geez, fine! It was just a suggestion.” Tron mumbled, slumping over as her exciting adventure was snuffed out before it could start. “But waiting tables can’t possibly make more money than sticking it out as a mechanic, right?”

“You’d be surprised, I managed to land a job at the most popular Chinese restaurant in town.” Roll said proudly. “It’s got great wages, the regulars always tip, the owner is nice, and most importantly, free meals!”

“Free meals, you say?” Tron’s eyes lit up.

“Whenever you want, breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The owner says you can’t achieve happiness on an empty stomach, and he always makes so much he has a lot of leftovers.” Roll said, and Tron’s budget-oriented mind immediately got to work.

“Okay, hang on, if both of us are working there, and we aren’t spending any money on meals…” Tron started to calculate the numbers in her head, then gasped. “We’d be saving more than my changes to the blueprints! Say, does he have any other vacancies open?”

“Whatever happened to not wanting to work?” Roll smirked.

“A deal like that is practically theft! I’m practically done working on half .” Tron said. “You gotta introduce me to that boss of yours!”

Tron paused.

“There isn’t a catch, is there?”

“Oh no, never.” Roll said with the most innocent smile on her face…

“We’ve got another order of dumplings at table five, sir!” Tron said, sticking her head into the kitchen. She placed down a stack of used dishes, wiping the sweat off her brow. The restaurant was busy as always, bustling with every table filled to the brim. As the owner had put it, China might have sunk below the waves thousands of years earlier, but its cuisine lived on stronger than ever.  “If you give them to me now, I can deliver to table eight in the same trip!”

“You’re a harder worker than I took you for, Miss Bonne. The two of you are lifesavers this time of the year!” Said Mr Li, the middle-aged owner and chef who could cook faster than Tron’s eyes could keep up with. “They say those who don’t work don’t eat!”

“Uh, yeah.” Tron supposed she wasn’t lying, given that she considered being a pirate a job.

“But, Roll beat you to it. ” He let out a big laugh all of a sudden, Tron turning her head to see Roll with her ever so sweet smile happily accepting tips from a table of gruff construction workers who were very pleased to be served by a pretty young girl. It helped that she was wearing a bright red short-sleeved cheongsam wrapped tightly across her slim body, the beautiful and shiny garment being the traditional uniform for the restaurant, along with her long blonde hair done up into two covered hair buns, a look Tron shared to keep her own hair out of the way. Tron herself was wearing a purple variant of Roll’s style, although she had decided to go on the offensive over tips, and had opted for a sleeveless affair with a healthy cleavage window, and a narrow loincloth-esque skirt that hung down to her ankles and showed off her curvy hips. She was sure that it’d give her the edge over Roll, but her nice-girl act seemed more popular for some reason. She didn’t get it!

“Dang it, how does she keep ahead of me?” Tron snatched up a stray meatbun that was leftover from another order, trying to hide her reflexive look of delight as she sank her teeth into the succulent treat. Mr. Li didn’t seem to object to eating on the job, and she needed it to keep her energy up anyway. She had been eating his cooking around the clock in the weeks since she had arrived, and each day it seemed more delicious than the last. Sure, working an honest job was like sacrilege for her, but in this highly specific context, it had turned out to be the right call.

“Have as many as you like, long as you don’t keep the customers waiting!” Li laughed again, piling the trays high with dumplings and noodles. “Having you two around is just like when my daughters still worked here.”

“Whatever happened to them?” Tron asked as she collected the order.

“Moved to another island to start their own restaurant. Young women should have ambition, I always say, but I’ll be damned if I don’t miss ‘em! You two’re building a rocket, ain’tcha? Good on you girls, I say! My old wife always said she wanted to see the stars up close personally, bless her soul!”

A man who never had small emotions, Mr. Li was already sniffling, but thankfully didn’t have time to start up yet another story about his supposedly beautiful since-departed wife before Tron went back to waiting tables. Tron had seen a few photos of her propped up about the place, and she certainly was a looker… if you subtracted about three hundred pounds from her. She didn’t blame his wife though, Mr. Li’s cooking was addictive. So much so that her own qipao was starting to feel a little tight around the midsection… just kidding! She’d never let herself get even a little chubby, and all this time spent on her feet burned it all off anyway. At least, that was what she was telling herself to ignore the growing pressure around her belly…

“See? Isn’t it nice when it just fits right away?” Roll said, a broad smile on her face as she finished tightening the last bolt on the current part of the engine. “No more shaving off millimetres here and welding on more there, and mix and matching power converters!”

“I’m really starting to realise how spoiled you are.” Tron sighed. She reached into her bag of meat buns, taking a big bite out of her fifth one today, not including breakfast. “There’s no excitement in this!”

“Exploding rockets aren’t exciting after the third or fourth time either.” Roll pointed out. She climbed under the engine again, her ass stuck in the air wagging back and forth as Tron shook her head at the view she was getting. It was a familiar sight by now, but she was pretty sure Roll’s big red behind was a lot wider than it used to be. Roll’s belt had been loosened to its last notch, and Tron glanced over to her pick-me-up from the restaurant as the cause. Still, they were saving a fortune on it, and it probably wasn’t that bad. After all, Tron was eating the same and she wasn’t getting fat!

Tron conveniently ignored her pooching belly, her own plush butt starting to strain her tights, and the tightness in her bra. Roll was definitely heavier than her either way, and she felt better about herself when Roll emerged, getting a good look at her visibly chubbier cheeks.

“Do I have oil on my face?” Roll asked, wide-eyed and innocent, tilting her head slightly in confusion.

“Uh, it’s nothing.” Tron said, avoiding eye contact and instead casting her eyes downward towards Roll’s muffin top, threatening to eventually spill completely over the sides of her shorts. Her usually petite chest had caught up with Tron’s, but Tron kept her security in her superior bust size by not realising that she herself had gotten noticeably larger and thus stayed ahead of her. “By the way, what’re we on schedule for?”

“Well, at the rate we’re going, assuming testing goes well…” Roll went over the numbers in her head, pausing to pop open a box of noodles. “Eight months?”

“Eight months!?” Tron exclaimed.

“Hey, we’re well ahead of the old schedule!” Roll protested, her cheeks stuffed with noodles. “The old development timeline had us at twenty years!”

“I feel sorry for him, not us!” Tron said, pointing upwards at the moon. “He must be getting pretty bored, stuck up there. At least he has company, I guess.”

I”m sure he’s noticed our signals by now.” Roll glanced over at the machine that was pointed directly at the moon’s position, set to send short messages in morse code in various formats such as flashing lights, radio waves, and anything else they could throw in the moon’s direction. WIth any luck they might see it, and hopefully figure out how to signal them back at the receiver.

“I’d settle for him blinking a flashlight at us.” Tron sighed, missing that blue boy scout who had kept foiling her plans. As soon as he got back, she was absolutely taking 100% of the credit for building the rocket and bringing him home. Meanwhile, Roll had already finished her first box of noodles, and was happily starting on her second. Tron noticed that her stuffed belly was starting to sag past her belly just a little, and wondered if she should say something.

“Hey, don’t you think you should…” Tron said, then trailed off. Actually, this might be good for her if Roll was a little plus-sized by the time Mega Man returned. She pushed her bag of remaining meat buns towards her. “Never mind. Eat up! In fact, have mine too!”

“I’m back!” Roll called, climbing off of her hover-bike and holding a large paper bag. “And I brought lunch!”

“What’d the spare parts store owner say? Can he get those cables in during the next shipment? I’ve done about all I can with what we have.” Tron asked, leaving the sprawling mess of wires in a heap as she turned and adjusted her glasses, dressed in her R&D lab coat and purple dress. Her stomach grumbled, eager to be satisfied with another high-calorie meal, Tron suddenly becoming astutely aware of why she was wearing this previously loose-fitting dress and not her usual outfit, namely the fact that she had totally outgrown her leotard. It had been well over a month, going on two months and the time for Tron to refer to herself as maybe just a little chubby had long passed.

Her belly was intended into the soft fabric, the two folds of fat she was building up visible for all to see, although she tried to hide her generous muffin top and flabby hips with her coat. Her breasts were now too big to hold in her chubby hands, more like small melons that were starting to sag under their own constantly increasing weight. She was twice as wide as when she started working, most of her weight going straight to her hips, which shook and wobbled with every step she took, not to mention her giant ass that was starting to spill over the sides of any chair she sat in. But even if she covered her body, hiding everything from her flabby arms to her thunderous thighs, she couldn’t escape from the thick second chin she had built up that got just a little bigger with each passing day.

Her only consolation was that her rival was even worse off than her. Her bike lurched under her weight whenever she sat on it, Roll building up a belly like a pregnant woman that remained smooth and round unlike Tron’s defined folds. Roll greedily licked her lips in anticipation, her cherubic cheeks puffy whether they were stuffed or not.

“He can’t, but that just gives us more time to save up for the rest of the electronics.” Roll said, looking on the bright side. “Good thing we’re saving all of this money on meals, right?”

“Um, about that…” Tron said, catching herself before she could give in to the delicious aroma before her. “Maybe we should rethink that whole only-eating-from-the-restaurant thing.”

“Why? It’s delicious. Don’t tell me you’re tired of it?” Roll said, seemingly oblivious to what Tron was hinting at. “I’ve seen you eat, there’s no way that’s true.”

“It’s just, well, there’s a lot of calories in these things, right? Mr. Li’s cooking isn’t, you know, diet conscious.” Tron tried saying diplomatically.

“That just gives me more energy to get through the day.” Roll’s chipper voice was starting to irritate Tron, who didn’t want to just go out and say it. “You’re the one who always wants to save money where you can, right? I can’t believe I’m hearing this from you.”

“I’m just saying, it’s not great for my figure!” Tron’s face started to turn red.

“The customers seem to like it.” Roll said with a carefree smile.

“I don’t care what the customers think, they’re the reason we’re turning into total fatsos!” Tron finally lost her patience, stomping up to Roll and poking her in her plump gut. “Maybe you don’t care that you’re starting to look like a prize pig, but I do! Unless we switch jobs to a vegetarian restaurant, eating only what we serve isn’t worth it!”

“Well it’ll put us back months if we stop now.” Roll pouted. “I was okay overlooking it until you brought it up, you know. It’s just a few pounds, right?”

“More like a few hundred pounds, fatty!” Tron yelled. “Every day we work there we just get heavier by the pound, I’m surprised you can still ride that bike of yours! Have you been modifying the suspension while I wasn’t looking?”

“Well…” Roll laughed, scratching the back of her head.

“You have, haven’t you!?” Tron groaned, shaking her head. She was more aware than ever of her body’s heft as she sat down, eager to take a load off whenever possible.

“Come on, our contract is just for another couple of months, then we can figure something else out, okay?” Roll tried to console her, rubbing her own tender belly self-consciously. To be honest, the food had been so good she had hardly noticed that she was getting bigger, although her clothes were at their limits, her spats starting to burst at the seams and her shorts going permanently without a belt, while her top’s buttons were strained by her huge breasts. Her thighs had started to rub together naturally, and it was getting a little hard to fit into tight places, but the customers of the restaurant seemed to just laugh it off as something that happened to every waitress lured in by the promise of free food, and besides, she’d do anything for Mega Man, right? He probably wouldn’t mind that she got a little big trying to help him…

“Just two months! And not a second longer! Mega-boy can stay cosy up there on the moon for another year for all I care!” Tron whined. “Until then, I’ll just have to restrain myself! I can do that, you know, unlike you! I’ll probably lose weight instead, you’ll see!”

“Here, let me get that for you.” Roll said, deftly scooping up a table’s worth of plates into a stack with one hand while effortlessly balancing two bamboo steamer baskets in the other, She hardly had time to be thanked by the group of construction workers who always came to the restaurant for lunch before she had glided off to another table to place down the boxes. She moved with such grace that you’d hardly know she was a total butterball, her noodle-stuffed belly offered no support by the fabric of her cheongsam while her twin meat buns sagged down to rest on the shelf she had created below it. Her puffy, soft arms were still as swift as ever, perhaps even moreso with all of the practice she had gotten working here, and her tree-trunk-like thighs didn’t slow her down at all when she was on the job. Of course, when not working Roll was slow and often cumbersome with how her obesity weighed her down, but the atmosphere of the cosy restaurant seemed to energise her and kept her as light on her feet as a fatty like her could be.

“You spoil us, dear.” Said Mrs. Jones, the town’s librarian. Next to her was her friend Jenny, an office worker, Roll knowing the names of all of the regulars by now.

“By the way, my car’s been running like a dream since you took a look at it!” Jenny said with a friendly smile. “I swear it’s better than when I bought it!”

“I just tinkered with it a little, that’s all.” Roll said, humble as ever.

“She fixed up my boat too!” chimed in Edward, one of the island’s fishermen. “Faster and cheaper than my lazy mechanic, I’ll have you know!”

“I’m just happy to take a break from the rocket.” Roll laughed, appreciating some variety in her life. It seemed like half the island frequented Mr. Li’s restaurant, and it had helped Roll and Tron build a contact network who were increasingly happy to help them out.

“If you need anything for it, just come to me!” Offered Mr. Hart and his wife, the owners of a local parts store who had initially given her something of a cold shoulder, but had since apologised and treated her like a native with how long she had been here for. Beckoned by the opportunity to save money, Tron seemingly crossed the room in a second, having to circle around a table to reach the couple's table with how Roll’s big butt took up an entire lane on its own. Perhaps a skinnier woman could have slipped past, but the idea of slipping past anything was a distant memory for Tron. It was either she moved out of the way or others moved out of the way for her, and for anybody but Roll it tended to be the latter.

“You know, we could tell everybody that our rocket was only possible with your help if you give us just a little discount on whatever we source from you, I’m sure everybody will be reporting about it…” Tron said opportunistically, the owner belly-laughing at her transparent attitude.

“You always drive a hard bargain, Miss. Bonne! Roll here just says yes to whatever price you put in front of her.” Mr. Hart grinned.

“I do not!” Roll blushed, Tron giving her a particularly smug look. “Why don’t I go get you two a drink?” she offered, deciding that she could try to curry their favour too.

“Oh no, allow me.” Tron said, trying to head to the kitchen, only for Roll to try to push past her.

“Oh no, I insist!” Roll said, the two wedging themselves between the tables trying to get ahead of each other, hips pressed against each other as they were simply too wide to go down a single lane between tables at once, and too stubborn to give up and take the long way around.

“Girls, calm down, we didn’t even ask for anything!” The couple tried to calm them down as they wrestled with each other

“It’s good for girls to be a little competitive, I always say!” Mr. Li laughed from the kitchen, peeking out. “Waitresses should have character!”

“They do remind me of your daughters. Always bickering and competing with each other, and then they went and moved out together!” Mrs. Hart said wistfully. “They were big girls too, you two seem like you’ll catch up soon!”

“It’s not my fault Mr. Li’s cooking is so good.” Tron said defensively as the two gave up and unwedged themselves. “I swear I’m going to lose it all as soon as our contract is up in a month!”

“Are sure you won’t consider staying? The boys and I’ll miss havin’ two pretty girls workin’ here.” One of the construction workers said, the other regulars nodding in agreement. If there was one thing Tron had come to realise, it was that big girls weren’t exactly unpopular on the island, at least as far as the regulars were concerned. There was only one man’s opinion that the two cared for though, and he was stuck on the moon. It was simply safer to quit soon and try to slim down before he arrived and settled the question of how much of a dealbreaker it was in person.

“Sorry, but we should really be working on the rocket full time…” Roll lied. In all honesty she quite enjoyed working here, with its lively atmosphere and cheerful customers, not to mention the irresistible food. But Tron had been insistent, and she supposed that she had gotten her foot in the door as a mechanic. Hopefully the two of them wouldn’t get too much bigger before then…

Randomsparks

A month later, Roll fanned herself with one hand and fed herself dumplings with the other while sprawled out on the old sofa they had set up in the lab, waiting for Tron to return. She couldn’t see past her belly anymore, she suddenly realised as she stared at the mountainous flesh before her piled several feet high with the bounty of a thousand meat buns, and her chest was no slouch too. Two wobbling mounds of red obscured half of her vision, but at least she could stick her legs up and see her feet, something that was a rare sight now that she could no longer see them while looking directly downward. She sighed and played with her wide cheeks out of boredom, puffy and round as her second chin threatened to consume the rest of her neck. Her hips spilled out over the side of the sofa’s cushions, drooping under the gravity as soon as it reached over. Although her ass cheeks were individually wider than she had been before she started gaining weight, at least she wouldn’t have to worry about them growing until they were larger than the cushions she sat on, since soon she would reluctantly quit her job under Tron’s insistence. It was probably for the best, as her arms were getting too fat to fit into the tighter parts of the engines and machines she was working with.

Still, she wasn’t in a rush, as recently Mega Man had managed to find a way to respond to their signals, having rigged up some sort of machine up there capable of covering the distance, and she and Tron had breathed a sigh of relief at the fact that he was alive, well, and comfortable, if a bit bored. Roll wasn’t quite sure if she liked how comfortable he seemed to be getting with the girls up there, but it couldn’t be helped, she was just glad he was okay, and had been very insistent that they get their rocket absolutely perfect before sending it up to him, after hearing about how many failures they’d had so far.

“I’m back!” Tron called, practically bouncing through the door with an unusually beaming face, although it frowned slightly when she saw Roll splayed out on the sofa. “Why are you still wearing your uniform? Mr. Li’ll get mad if you get oil on it.”

“It’s all I’ve got that still fits besides my pajamas.” Roll admitted, turning herself upright with a grunt, almost straining herself just to stand up without assistance, revealing that she even still had her covered hairbuns up. Just how had she gotten to weigh almost three hundred pounds in six months? Well, for one thing, the food was really good. And maybe she had splurged a little knowing that she wouldn’t have it soon, and maybe she had just gotten a naturally larger appetite over time, and… well, Roll was aware she was a fatty, there was no use in pretending it wasn’t just her being gluttonous. Which she hardly minded, really. Her appetite had always been reigned in by the limited food aboard the Flutter, so it wasn’t a surprise that she ended up putting on a little weight when she had a more sedentary lifestyle and no reason to hold back, since she wasn’t footing the bill.

“Don’t remind me.” Tron said quietly, hardly in a better state herself. Her belly nearly sagged low enough to poke out from under her short dress, and unbeknownst to her thanks to the lab coat she wore out of self-consciousness that inadvertently protected her modesty, her huge ass cheeks were so big they stuck out from under the skirt. She had thighs she could hardly wrap her arms around, and her breasts had grown to be nearly as big as her head. She moved ponderously, shaking with each step and preferring to save her energy for weaving within the tables and customers at the restaurant. Although she lacked the white covers she wore on the job, her hair was still done up in two hairbuns, Tron having gotten so used to the look that she had started to treat it as her default hairstyle, abandoning her usual pulled-back look.

“But anyway!” Tron perked back up. “Come have a look at this!”

Tron grabbed Roll’s chubby hand, nearly bumping bellies with her as she dragged her out the door to where a large wooden crate was waiting for her.

“What is it?” Roll asked, grabbing a crowbar, Tron motioning for her to pop it open. Roll did so, and Tron’s smile widened as Roll gasped, her fat face seeming to make her look even rosier.

“Tadaa! It’s the on-board computer you wanted!” Tron said excitedly. “I managed to get a discount on it since the original buyer cancelled at the last minute, but don’t worry, it’s brand new straight from the factory without any defects! We can just pop this baby right in and be good to go!

“It’s gorgeous!” Roll’s inner engineer sprung to the surface as she got down on her knees, her gut squashing against the crate as she leaned over, almost rubbing her fat cheeks against the gleaming, perfectly clean surface. “This is exactly what we needed to correct the over-compensation issue!”

Roll practically leapt into Tron’s arms, their bodies squishing against each other in a grand collision of fat and flesh. She had to lean over their mutual breasts and bellies to get to her broad, soft shoulders, a clumsy, awkward affair that both nonetheless enjoyed. However, eventually her excitement faded enough for Roll to realise that she was forgetting a very important question.

“Wait, Tron, how did you afford this?” Roll asked, slowly releasing her. “Even if we put our tips together we wouldn’t have half enough. Heck, not even if we put our salaries together! You didn’t take out a loan, did you? You know we’re officially unemployed in a few days, right? You’d better not have robbed a bank!”

“I didn’t! I didn’t do either of those things!” Tron protested. “I’m on the straight and narrow, I swear!”

“Then how’d you get this?” Roll demanded to know, and Tron started to look very guilty indeed.

“Well, it was a real spur of the moment deal…” Tron said slowly, unable to quite make eye contact. “I needed money and I couldn’t just pass it up, you know? I heard about it from one of the customers last night, and then Mr. Li said he’d be willing to give us an advance on our salaries if we extended our contracts for another three or four months, so I just… you know…?”

Roll was totally silent.

“It was a really generous offer, okay? He thinks of us like daughters, you know!” Tron flushed bright red. “And I said I’d miss his cooking, I mean, he said I’d probably miss his cooking, and that it’d be lonely without us around, and that he was about to give us a raise anyway. This is just accelerating our schedule, really!

“You spent how long complaining that you couldn’t wait to quit and you’re the one to con me into staying there?” Roll giggled.

“S-shut up and help me install this thing already or I’m not giving you lunch!” Tron squeaked, almost considering denying it to her anyway, just so she could have the delicious food inside all to herself. She couldn’t help herself, she just couldn’t conceive going back to a world without Mr. Li’s cooking, and it was all in the name of progress, right? Right?

“Here you go, gentlemen! Piping hot, just for you!” Tron said happily, full of energy as she leaned over the table to place down the various plates she was holding, her gigantic belly pressing against the side, simply too large to not touch it at her current weight. It was the nine month mark of working there, their projections taking a little longer than they had thought, but by that point neither minded. What was another fifty pounds or so when you were pushing five or perhaps even six hundred pounds? Neither felt very much like weighing themselves these days, having long passed the point where it made much difference.

“You’re a doll, Miss. Bonne!” The grizzled construction worker said, his pals nodding. Behind Tron you could find Roll serving some office workers, chatting happily with them between her duties. It was impossible to not see her, as both girls took up as much space as one of the smaller tables alone, and it was only their well practiced movements that stopped them from bumping belly or butt-first into everything in their path. Almost so wide that she was starting to worry about getting stuck in doorframes, Tron’s tremendous hips boggled the minds of the average customer both in their girth and how she managed to avoid colliding with anything. Meanwhile, her ass was large enough to balance a large tray on.

“I heard you girls had a successful test flight the other day!” Another familiar face at the table said, the others nodding in acknowledgement. “We could see it from the worksite! It went way up there and then came all the way back down in one piece!”

“Mr. Li does say that hard work eventually pays off.” Tron said smugly, puffing herself up proudly, her second chin jiggling just from that movement alone. She had a distinctive jolliness thanks to her obese face, hardly grumpy these days between the good food and the smooth progress being made on the rocket. She still believed that she could have gotten the same results with less money spent, but she supposed it hadn’t hurt to take the longer, more expensive road this time.

“Well, I sure hope you two don’t fly on out of here as soon as you’re done.” The first said, scratching his beard wistfully. “We’ll all miss you, ya know? And Mr. Li treats you too like you’re a second pair of daughters. I don’t think we’ll ever hear the end of it if you leave now!”

“Well, I was thinking I might stick around for a bit, if you really want me to.” Tron teased. She couldn’t possibly pull off any robberies in her current state, let alone fit into her mech, and apparently one of Tiesel’s business ventures had actually taken off, so there was no pressure from him to return to piracy. Roll also wasn’t in the mood for going on any adventures for at least a few months once Mega Man got back, wanting to take her time with him, and Tron certainly wanted to as well.

Tron smoothed off her loincloth-skirt, most of her obese hips uncovered by the thin strip, but she was well used to it by now, she and Roll simply wearing their uniforms in public these days to avoid spending money on new clothes. She wore her hair in hairbuns more than she let it down as well, Roll also almost permanently taking on the look, claiming that it was easier to work that way. Tron was glad that their project had wrapped up, as she had gotten almost too fat to tinker with machines, barely able to reach past her own gut, while Roll had needed special equipment to raise things high enough for her to fit under. The two were total butterballs and had gotten used to it by this point, waddling around and simply enjoying the fact that they were expected to stuff themselves silly. Being treated as unofficial daughters by the town was about right, and it was quite convenient to have a so-called father who was such a good chef.

As for Mr. Li’s real daughters, they had met them in person last month when they had returned briefly to visit their father. Unsurprisingly they were even fatter than Roll and Tron, and had immediately chewed out their father for being too generous with his free food policy and fattening up another set of waitresses. Roll and Tron had simply laughed it off, saying that it was too late now. They were totally addicted to Li’s cooking, and Roll was starting to wonder that now that the rocket was nearly done, she should take a break from her plans of focusing on being a mechanic to learn to cook. It just wouldn’t do if they returned to their adventures around the world and she couldn’t reproduce Li’s cooking. Mega Man wouldn’t mind if his navigator was also an excellent chef, would he?

“We just have to install the auto-pilot module.” Roll chipped in, having overheard their conversation. “We originally planned to have a pilot, but, well…”

“We aren’t arguing about who has to do it anymore, at least.” Tron chuckled. “Now…”

The two obese girls looked at each other, smiled, and looked back at the table.

“Who wants seconds?”
