"That's what the tubes are for, Jack. Look, you can ask the guys who created the experiment later, now put the rabbit down and put it to sleep. If it works, we won't be left with a pulsating mass of tumors. We've got the janitor on standby though. "
"Alright, whatever. I just wish they'd actually told us more about this rather than just throwing it at us and hoping everything's peachy. Is this even technically legal?"
"Normally, probably not. For our company? Probably. If not, we're about to break animal and human experimentation laws. If we're unlucky, just the animal ones."
Jack put the small white rabbit he was carrying down onto the table, giving it a quick injection to keep it asleep for a few hours. The last thing they needed was movement. It was hooked up to a number of tubes of varying thickness, hooked to equipment above. He left the room and went back to his partner behind the glass.
"So, care to place any bets?"
"I bet that you shut up and let me start this thing up. Right, camera's on, be sure to smile. Ok, this is experiment #008, human-animal mass-genetic modification. Subject is an American White rabbit, female. Is that right? It isn't? Crap. Knew I should have gone over the documentation one more time. No, I don't want to do another take, just cut this out. We'll edit the right words in in post. Anyway, starting in three, two, one..."

Inside, the motionless rabbit twitched slightly as chemicals flowed into it, genetic code rapidly being altered. It was belly-up, and the first of its physical changes began. Its front legs began to lengthen, bones reshaping to give it a longer, disproportionate length inappropriate for normal use, the paws growing longer as each invidiual "toe" of the paw grew thinner, cracking as it reformed into a more hand-like structure. The entire rabbit began to grow larger as this happened, its torso growing longer, its hind-legs serving to give it more of a bipedal slant in how it would stand, save for its normal rabbit feet. But, as it widened as it grew, this quickly began to change, as its hind legs began to stretch outwards, growing extremely long as the feet shortened, less rabbit-like as it went, the legs looking more human as knees formed, giving it much more flexibility.
While the rabbit was rapidly approaching half-a-metre in height when laid out, its front-legs were looking more like arms, with visible elbows now, and the paws splitting off into five-fingered furry hands. THe claws retracted, the fingers lengthening and thinning into human digits, fingernails growing at the ends, concealed under the fur. It looked awkward on the rabbit body, as its proportions lengthened out, the ever-larger torso making the disproportionately sized limbs gangly and awkward.
Its head was soon placed between two shoulders, its neck growing out, its arms clearly defined and reaching past widening hips, its body taking on a less rectangular shape, hips and a waist pushing themselves outward as it slimmed down, from the head-down looking highly humanoid.
Seemingly as a sigh of progress, the rabbit quickly began to shed fur, but instead of an ugly hairless hide, pale human skin was waiting below, a human-like torso clearly defined. Finally, as its body began to stretch and shorten its proportions to a more human size,now a metre in height, its head finally began to change. Its head began to grow taller, its face pushing itself in as it became flatter, the scalp growing rounder as its mouth began to grow obviously female lips, the nose going from pink to skin-coloured as it began to become pointy and grew outwards into a small but human nose, two nostrils beginning to expel air normally. Its teeth began to shift into a flat, human set, its buck-teeth shrinking inwards into two normal front teeth. Its eyes became human as it gained eyebrows and a brow for that matter, its features now clearly human, and female at that. A thin layer of white hair was quickly growing at the scalp, although barely enough to stop it from looking bald. Its ears remained unchanged, two floppy white ears still perfectly functioning. The two men observing it were unaware if this was intentional or not, but figured it would make the subject very easy to identify later.
On its body, while its proportions had grown that that of a normal human's, fingers and feet defined, its torso was quite unchanged aside from length and width, something that was quickly changing. The hips that had been growing were quickly complimented by a thin waist, its rear and swelling out, a furry white puffball of a tail one of the only things left over from its original body. Its genitals changed from rabbit to human, and two nipples formed on its chest, quickly swelling out into two small breasts. With a few final minor adjustments and a total height of only a little more than four feet tall, the subject left on the table appeared for all the world to be a very small human female sleeping, half her body covered in shed fur and hooked up to a number of tubes which finished feeding it chemicals, the experiment over.

"Well, that just happened. What the hell do we do with her now?"
"I don't know. I guess we notify the higher-ups that the experiment was a success. Although the fact that it was a rabbit five minutes ago is confusing certain parts of my mind and body."
"So, does it still have a rabbit brain, or what?"
"Apparently it should have a normal human mind, although it'll still be running on rabbit thanks to retaining its memory when it wakes up. It'll be about as smart as a baby until its taught. Apparently there are some people wetting themselves at the idea of being able to teach that Conversion to be a responsible member of society. With rabbit ears. And a tail."
"When she looks like that, I'm not surprised."
"It was a rabbit Jack. A rabbit. Do not get any ideas."
