"The Witch upgrade." Samus said, selecting the upgrade from the list. This was another one that had piqued her interest thanks to the name. Witch? As in magic-casting Witch? Samus was interested since, well, there was no such thing as magic. Sure, there was the whole Chozo spiritualism thing that blurred the lines a bit, but no Witch kind magic. Either way, she decided to find out, and hey, if the thing worked as advertised, magic. She inserted the upgrade into her zero suit, and waited for the changes to begin.

After a few seconds, Samus didn't feel any changes. No clothing changes, nothing. She did, however, start to feel very unpleasant, like she was sick, but somehow not quite to the level of feeling nauseated or that any part of her body wasn't working properly. Her skin was also starting to feel strange, and she quickly walked over to the mirror to take a look at herself

At the mirror, Samus initially didn't notice anything different about herself. But she had looked at her body first, and when she looked more closely at her face, she noticed that the colour seemed to be draining out of her skin, going from a healthy tan to a sickly pale colour, and then went beyond, into a inhumanly grey, not one that could be caused by any natural means.

Samus also felt her eyes start to hurt slightly, like if she hadn't closed them for a long time. She tried blinking and closing her eyes briefly, but the slight burning feeling continued, and she squinted slightly as she noticed that a similar process to what had happened to her skin was happening to her hair, the colour draining out of it into a grey, while her hair became more ragged, becoming rougher and the shine going out of it. Her eyes widened at her now somewhat inhuman appearance, and she noticed that her irises had faded to grey, rather than their usual bright blue. However, the pain from having her eyes widened got to her quickly, and she went back to squinting, everything seeming to be far too bright for her.

As Samus tried to shut out the light by keeping her eyes shut as much as possible, for some reason, she started to feel depressed, like something was deeply upsetting and continued to be upsetting, but she couldn't figure out just what was bothering her. Combined with the lighting of the room hurting her and her feelings, she felt like she would just lash out at the first person to bother her, and this wasn't helped by her hands starting to hurt as they began to change.

Her hands began to ache, particularly around her digits, and Samus looked down to see her fingers growing at the first knuckles, growing four or five times as long, the fingernails at the ends growing out into sharp and extremely dangerous looking claws, easily able to tear someone apart. The fabric of her zero suit around her hands shredded at the growth, letting Samus see that her skin was just as grey around the rest of her body.

Looking at her monstrous hands, her eyes burning as she looked down past the reflective metal floor, Samus squinted heavily and raised her hands to cover her eyes, her fingers and claws extending well over her head with their additional length. She quickly retreated back to her ship and its dimmer lighting, turning off as many lights as she find, and remained in the darkness as long as she could.
