Samus stared at her cards, her perfectly calm and confident exterior hiding the fierce calculations going on underneath. This was the big moment. Win here, or lose half her winnings for the night, and possibly a chunk of her reputation. Keeping her perfect face? Easy. Supressing the urge to show signs of pressure in body language, at even the most subtle gestures? Somewhat harder. Either way, she just had to get this one right. She hoped she had this, at least. Right now, it was down to her luck.
"I'm in." Samus said, deliberately oozing confidence, her opponent good, but not quite as good, his silent treatment betraying him slightly as he concentrated on his cards, eventually discarding and drawing one of them. The final hand went down, they lay their cards out, and
"Well, looks like I win again. Better luck next time." Samus said, giving off another smile as her opponent fumed. Perhaps she'd gone a little too far in presentation, Samus thought to herself. The man looked ready to attack her over the huge sum of money she'd just won from him. Luckily for her, even if he had tried, and she had been unable to fight him off, which she was perfectly capable of doing, the incredibly burly bouncer, a rocklike species and a lot smarter than he looked, had been watching carefully to make sure neither of them had been cheating.
Samus smoothed off her dress and took her chips, and headed to cash them in, deciding that she figured she had done enough for the night. She didn't want to make too big of a haul for herself, seeing as her reputation for single-handedly cleaning out casinos had gotten her quite as few extra looks, in addition to the regular sort, which Samus appreciated equally.
She felt like she hadn't gone quite as far out as she could have, but she had decided to pull out of the roulette after her continual string of victories after the last time she had done a little too well at roulette at another casino. It was all down to her good luck, really, but the other gamblers hadn't quite seen it that way. She'd dealt with it, of course, but they had almost ruined her perfectly put together appearance, and she'd had to retire for the night that time.
At the moment, Samus had more than enough money to give her a life of riches, but she wasn't really in it for the money. She was in it for the life, for the thrill of it all
She had considered playing in the big leagues for some of the card games, but there was something about the casino that drew her to it, and made it worth coming back every night
But she was getting a bit too reflective, and focused on getting her winnings and getting out. She cashed in her chips, and was rewarded with a chip of her own, a sum of credits on a chip that some of rivalled some of the richest people in the galaxy's earnings, and a few icy looks from the employees of the casino. She tucked it into her cleavage and headed of, already thinking of where she was going to go the next night.
