Classes finished up for the day, and Cassandra, slowly crossed the quad, which was the busiest place at the Community College. Each main building spilt students into this large square, which made meeting people easy. At this time of the day, Cassandra felt so normal, so human...even if that statement was not quite true.
At the far corner, she could already see Allison waiting for her. "Hey, Alli," Cassie called out, waving her hand above her head. Allison returned the wave and gave her a hug, "Hey there, Cassie. Are you ready to get out of here?" Allison was wearing the latest in style and the most expensive as well, while Cassandra's outfit was much more plain. Cassie nodded, yes, and they hopped into Alli's personal car. Alli’s cyborg driver tipped his hat as they both got in, and then "he" quickly got in the car.
The drive home was short, to them anyway, and the girls wasted no time in catching up from the day. There was plenty of gossip and drama to keep them busy talking for hours. When they got back to Alison's mansion, the girls were out of the car before the chauffeur could get the door open. They entered the giant front doors, talking as fast as they could. Veronica, the administrative head of Mr. Hanson's estate, came up to the girls and said, "Enjoy your day, Mistress Allison and Miss Marks?" Veronica extended her arms to take their bags and other accessories. "Yes, yes, it was fine," Allison, replied as she locked arms with Cassandra, "Let's get going before you gotta go to work." As they headed up the stairs, Cassie said to Veronica, "You know you can call me Cassie, right?" Veronica nodded and replied, "Of course, Miss Marks.” Cassandra shook her head and continued up the grand staircase with her best friend.
The girls spent time in Allison's room, which was bigger than Cassie’s last house, Cassandra thought to herself. As they continued to hang out and enjoy their time, Cassandra's phone beeped. Cassie looked down and said, "Oops, I better get to work." Allison made a pouty face. Cassandra chuckled, "Haha, I'm gonna see you again in a few minutes, Alli." Allison nodded and replied in a sad tone, "Yeah, but it is not the same, Cassie, when you are working here." Cassandra nodded as she moved to leave and shrugged her shoulders. Allison hopped up in a flurry and gave Cassie another hug. They both gave "air pecks" on each cheek before Cassandra left giggling.
Cassandra headed downstairs and into the back of the mansion where her 'apartment' was. To be honest, it was a closet, but Cassandra really didn’t need much space. It had a small bed, a wardrobe with drawers, and a small vanity. Nothing fancy, she thought, as she walked into it. Stripping quickly, she grabbed a pair of plain white panties and a plain white bra from a bin full of them, after putting them on, she left as quickly as she came. She checked the clock on the wall in the hallway as she walked by and thought, "I'm gonna be late."
Stepping out the back door, she headed to the servants' entrance. The back yard was walled in, so there was no chance of anyone seeing her walking outside in her 'undies'. Stepping into the servant’s entrance, Cassie was immediately scanned. A voice above her stated, "Cyborg unit: Cassandra Marks. Compliant Protocol initiated.” Cassandra could feel some of her free will slipping away as she stated, "Unit Cassandra awaiting orders.”
Veronica walked up to her, as Cassie stood at attention. Veronica said calmly, "And who is your owner?” Cassandra replied in a bland robotic tone, "Unit Cassandra is owned by Allison Hanson.” Veronica replied, "Good! Since you were late, you will be on kitchen clean-up and garbage removal duty this evening, above and beyond your normal chores." Cassandra sighed slightly, hoping Veronica did not hear it, as that could get her in deeper trouble. Veronica was not human, but she had, vindictive, down better than anyone Cassie had ever known.
Ignoring her, Veronica stepped away and Cassandra was moved into the cyborg-cleaning machine. Arms with nozzles came out all around her, cleaning her and removing her panties and bra. The soap and warm water felt good, Cassandra thought to herself, “The best part is I haven’t needed a shower in almost a week.” After every part of her was cleaned, Cassandra was polished to a high sheen. Her hair was pulled back, as the liquid latex maid’s uniform was sprayed onto her body. Once the first coat dried, a second coat was applied. Mr. Hanson preferred a heavier uniform, so that there was no chance of a "wardrobe malfunction."
The maid’s uniform is like the one she wore every work day: black and white with a flared out mini-skirt, stockings that come to above her knees, a black corset-type top with short laced sleeves, black gloves that came to above her elbows with white lace trim, and too-high heeled white shoes. The machine then released Cassandra’s hair, and curled, and sprayed it so that it bounced as she walked.
Once the machine was done, Cassandra walked stiffly to Veronica, who had come back into the room and said, "Unit Cassandra, ready for orders." Cassie stood at attention and waited for Veronica to order her around, which Cassie thought Veronica enjoyed doing, even though she was more of a robot than Cassie was.
Veronica said, "Clean each of the 3 dining rooms, then report to the kitchen to help set the table." Then Veronica turned on her heel and walked out. Cassandra nodded and felt most of her free will returning. "Finally," she whispered, stretching her hands and legs a little, even though as a machine she really didn’t need to. Then Cassie said to herself, "Let's go to work."
Wearing high-heeled shoes, Cassandra walked much slower than normal. Cassie walked to the supply closet, getting her feather duster and wood cleaner. Once she had those, she walked to one of the three dining rooms. Since Mr. Hanson might choose any of the three to dine in each night, Cassie had to clean them daily. It was not hard work, but it did seem rather inefficient.
Each dining room was about the same, big, with lots of wood paneling and a really, really long table with chairs. Cassie dusted every surface possible in there. Once complete, she sprayed and wiped all the wood surfaces with a cleaner and polish. The room nearly shined when she was done. As she stepped to the door, she looked back with satisfaction. One thing about my job, she said with her chest puffed out and her head held high, I could see how good it looks when I have completed it.
She returned her items to the supply closet. As soon as she set down the feather duster, she could feel new commands showing up in her head. Yes, yes, she said to herself, I know I have to go to the kitchen. As she turned to walk out, the voice in her head continued to pester her. To be fair, it may not be "pestering her," but that is how Cassandra viewed it. I think one reminder would be enough, but Veronica insisted on setting up multiple ones in Cassandra’s last software update.
Cassandra entered the kitchen, feeling her will slipping away again as she got a priority transfer to assist the chef. The chef wheeled around, literally, as Cassie walked into the kitchen. She was nearly 7 feet tall with one large, single rotating wheel where her feet should be. Her uniform was like something out of a German movie. She had the traditional colorful dress, except it was made of latex, and yellow hair worn in two long braids, which swung around like whips when she turned quickly. The chef’s arms were long with upgrades to allow them to extend an extra foot if necessary. Her thick German accent put the perfect punch to her words as she ran the kitchen like a military boot camp.
"Well, it's about time, you slacker," the chef said too loudly. "Get the silverware, dishes, and napkins to the table in the East dining room." Before Cassandra could acknowledge that, the chef added, "Use place setting #4." Cassandra could see dozens of pictures appear in her head, instructing her exactly how to place every fork, knife, spoon, napkin, plate, glass, etc. "Jawohl, mine Chef." She didn’t have to reply in German, but she looked it up and secretly thought the Chef might like it. With a slight grin, Cassie turned and gathered the necessary flatware and silverware to take to the table. The kitchen was rather noisy compared to the rest of the large empty house, so it was a little depressing to leave it for the quiet dining room.
Dinner began and ended on time. Mr. Hanson arrived home at his usual time and moved immediately to the dining room table. Allison was slow to come down, but after her third "beckoning" from Veronica, finally sauntered in, phone in hand. The two were seated and served by Cassandra and Veronica. There was little conversation between father and daughter, but what did take place was pleasant. Mr. Hanson really seemed to love his daughter, and he was trying to raise her the best way he knew how. Cassandra thought, “It is funny how Mr. Hanson reminds me of my own dad.”
As she refilled Allison's drink, Cassandra heard, "Oh I can't remember his name, but Cassie might." Cassandra tried not to let her name affect her performance. Cassandra thought dryly, “Alli loves to play this game, to try and get me to break character and get into trouble.” Allison started, "Hey, Cassie, what was the name of our substitute professor today?" Cassandra stood upright, the water pitcher in her hand, and replied, "Cassandra unit does not have that information, Miss Allison." Allison grinned, then said, "Oh sure you do, Cassie. You were making goo-goo eyes at him."
Cassandra glared at her, as Mr. Hanson said with surprise, "Oh really?" Cassandra screamed to herself, “I did not, she is just saying that.” Cassie repeated, "Cassandra unit does NOT have that information." Allison could hear the slight change in her voice, and knew she was getting to her. Then Alli said, "Oh, and Cassie said something like 'he was tall, dreamy, and just my type.'" Alli could not help but giggle at the last statement. Cassandra had returned the water pitcher to the cart and Veronica was staring at her, waiting to pounce on her if she broke character. Taking a deep breath, Cassandra replied, "If Miss Allison feels this unit has missing information in its database, she should order a systems check."
Allison got up to leave the table and said, ignoring Cassandra's reply, "Daddy, I'm headed to the studio to listen to some music." Mr. Hanson nodded and waved to her, as he returned to looking at his phone screen. As she left the room, Alli said over her shoulder, "I figure that kiss between Cassie and Doctor-what’s-his-name meant nothing." Mr. Hanson amusedly choked slightly, as Cassandra blurted out, animatedly, "That is not true. She is just..." Cassandra never finished her statement of defense as Veronica, knew it would happen, and had switched Cassandra off remotely. Cassandra slumped forward, the look on her face still frozen. Mr. Hanson could hear his daughter giggling in the hallway. He said, "Veronica, bring me some more dessert please, and mute Cassandra for the evening." While he knew she was not completely to blame, he still did not want to encourage his cyborg servants blurting out in public. Nonetheless, Mr. Hanson could not help but smile as Veronica left the dining room.
The rest of the evening was rather quiet, literally, for Cassandra. She cleared the table and helped clean the kitchen. She took the garbage from the kitchen and the other rooms of the house that had been consolidated in the kitchen area out. The labor was not hard; she thought to herself, it just took longer in this outfit. It’s hard to walk in a tight latex uniform.
As she neared the end of her shift, Cassandra had to return to the kitchen to be "released" by the chef. Veronica could do it, Cassandra mused sarcastically, but she is never around when I need her, but if I try to get away with anything, she is always there to pounce. Rounding the corner to go down the long hallway to the back of the kitchen, she saw one of the few human servants polishing a metal fixture. Normally, the human staff had already gone for the night, and they usually didn't do menial tasks like that, Cassandra wondered to herself why she was still here.
As she got close to her, the human servant seemed not to even notice her. Still unable to speak, Cassandra decided to override her programming and walk on the other side of the hallway. Cassandra still had plenty of freewill during her shift, even when she was being ordered to do something. I think I could blatantly disobey if I tried hard enough, she reassured herself in her near-human yet robotic mind, but it would not be worth it.
The human servants wore a more modest outfit. It was still the traditional black and white maid’s uniform. However, it was not latex, but rather leather, not as shiny and tight, and, Cassandra thought with envy, not as revealing as hers. She was almost upon her, when the maid noticed Cassandra being there. Since the maid did not see Cassie walk up, she jumped in surprise. Cassandra would have kept walking with a broad smile on her face, but the lady spilled something onto Cassandra. The maid must have seen it as she said, "MaidBot, stop." Cassandra obeyed, still smiling and she could hear the maid cursing under her breath.
Suddenly, Cassandra felt pressure on her back legs, and she could hear a squeaking sound as though her latex uniform was being rubbed. Cassie heard the maid say, "Good thing you're all shiny, or I would be in big trouble again." Cassandra felt the maid wipe her legs down and smooth out her uniform. For good measure, Cassie felt the rag go up her tight skirt and thought dryly, “Doubt I got anything up there, lady.” The woman did a quick walk around to check her, then said, "MaidBot, continue." Cassandra curtseyed in compliance, and then started walking again. She could hear in the distance behind her, "I sure hope no one finds out about this, I don't think latex will stain, right?" The rest of the maid’s conversation, with herself, was lost as Cassandra continued into the loud kitchen.
With her day finally over, Cassie was sent back to the basement area for cleaning. The process was short but relaxing. The brushes scrubbed her well and the finishing soap and rinse had a very pleasant smell. Cassie’s hair was returned to its normal state, and her body felt clean again. In fact, she noted, “With the latex off me, I felt more human than not.” Redressed in her white underwear again, she clocked out by the door and headed outside.
The cool night air cleansed her, and was very different from the stale basement air. The stars in the sky twinkled as always. The sounds of a car on the road driving by and maybe a dog barking three houses down...all sounded so good. Cassandra thought proudly, “Never would I have thought I could have a normal life, not that this is all that normal." Then Cassie whispered under her breath, But it’s close enough for me." With that, she stepped back into the house through the back door and headed to her room. With a smile still on her face, she said to no one in particular, "I'll go tell Alli good night after I put on some real clothes."
