Toby had always loved his toys. As he grew older, though, his tastes changed… but his love of toys, figurines, and models remained. He often found himself gazing upon his collection, and has five favorite pieces.
Samantha had been the first. In fact, she’d been his first girlfriend! She was stood up on the far left of the collection, dressed up cosplaying Battle-Saint Madmessel Sufie. She hadn’t meant to become a love-doll, but she had been really into cosplay. Over the course of a couple cons, she’d gotten her bust enhanced, her figure trimmed, even her eyes widened to better look like the anime characters she loved. One day at a con, she volunteered for an alteration too many, and began to stiffen into a doll afterwards. She rather enjoyed the change, and Toby imagined she rather liked being his sex doll more than she liked being his girlfriend. She looked almost nothing like she did when he first met her, and he enjoyed dressing her up after new characters every few months.
Trisha was the next to join his collection, a little over a year later. A few friends had talked him into visiting a Hooters after work, and lo and behold, they were hosting a special promotion. Apparently the franchise hadn’t been doing well, and the regional manager had hit on a sort of sweepstakes to spice up interest; the opportunity for one lucky customer every now and then to take home one of their girls. Trisha had been the table’s waitress when the bills came due and Toby found out he was a winner when his receipt was delivered. All he had to do was verbally accept and the very surprised waitress began to stiffen as her skin became synthetic, her breathing stilled, and her body became entirely inanimate. His friends congratulated on his luck as he awkwardly hauled his new doll back home. He understood the restaurant didn’t last much longer. To be fair, the wings were terrible.
Velnika had been next, currently the second from the right. Toby had picked her up at another anime convention, although he’d never met her before that day. The convention was running a cosplay competition, sponsored by Cosmagic and featuring all manner of cosmetic transformations. But the runners up, which included Katie, wound up inanimate; minis, figurines, posable dolls, or sex dolls in their outfits. The runners-up were auctioned afterward, and Toby was able to nab her. He liked to keep her in her cosplay, and had even sat down and watched the anime she’d based her look off of alongside her. That’s where her name came from; Velnika was the cyborg mecha-warrior she was cosplaying. As a sign of pride, Toby had never looked up her real name, or even original gender.
With three transformed sex dolls in his apartment, Toby became very keen to continue collecting. He didn’t have any personal connection to Sasha, dressed up in red and perched on the far right. Sasha was a porn actress with Aphrodite Studios, an avant-garde, magic and transformation centric outfit with a tendency to run through performers. Sasha got dollified on tape and put up for auction afterward. Thankfully, she never built up much of a personal following, so Toby could afford her. He liked to keep her sultry and seductive.
And then, in her place of honor at the center of his collection, was Vanessa. Vanessa was Toby’s favorite. He didn’t know much about her; he bought her after a magi-tech convention, where a shady looking man was hawking out some special wares from the back of his car.
He wasn’t certain exactly why Vanessa was his favorite. Maybe it was the mystique of her unknown past? The risk he made in purchasing her, given that her dollification may not have been altogether legal? Or was it something inherent to her… some property of her features, or how she felt underneath him? Whatever it was, he ended up using Vanessa at least twice as often as any of the others. He imagined some of them must be jealous of her, given that they could stay on their stands for weeks at a time while she’d be taken to his bedroom three or four times.
Of course, what neither Toby nor his four other dolls knew was that Vanessa a counterfeit; a normal doll made in a Taiwanese factory and quickly modified to resemble someone the dealer saw dollified a few weeks earlier so he could triple the price.
