Arcadia Faire

(Part One of Three)

By Ordos Tsceri

“Erin!  I wasn’t expecting you to be so… big…” Caitlyn said as she greeted her friend.  She knew something was off when she caught a glimpse of her old college roommate’s head above the crowd milling by the Arcadia Faire’s entrance, a good couple feet taller than she remembered her.  But it wasn’t until Erin emerged from the crowd and embraced her in a hug did she see the reason why.

Erin had always been a large girl, with generous proportions, endowments, and a height about as tall as most of the guys on campus.  Now her chest was even more crowded, a second pair of breasts barely constrained in the tight buttoned-up white t-shirt that hugged her hips and showed off her navel.  Extra breasts weren’t all that odd anymore, if still far from common, but below those hips Erin was… well, a cow.

Cait knew her friend came from a farming background, but her own experience with livestock was largely limited to cartoonified versions shown advertising milk and burgers.  She always knew they were big, but had a hard time fully understanding just how large such animals were until she visited her friend out in the country.  Especially since her friend was now half cow.  It would have been nice if she’d mentioned that when she was arranging this little get together.

“I know, right?” Erin laughed, wrapping Cait in her arms and squeezing her in a friendly hug.  With the height difference, Cait was briefly in danger of suffocating in her friend’s abundant bosom.  Erin laughed a bit as she set Cait down, “sorry, sorry, but I wanted to see the surprise on your face.  It’s been a very exciting few years here.  I’m so glad you could come!”

“I wouldn’t miss this for the world,” Caitlyn lied.

Cait had almost bailed on the trip entirely.  She’d graduated five years ago, and had only seen her old roommate once since then.  As much as she loved her friend, they just didn’t have much in common.  After graduation they drifted back to their old comfort zones, a hundred miles apart.  Cait had poured herself into an office job, making slow but steady headway up the corporate ladder, while Erin had gone back to her old town, intent on revitalizing her family’s farm.  There’d been sporadic correspondence over the years, and then out of the blue there was a very impassioned invitation to this year’s Arcadia County Faire.

She would have skipped it altogether but… well, she didn’t have anything going on that weekend.  Or the weekend before.  Or the one before that.  She’d been too tired to date recently, and had found herself spending more and more weekends just lounging in her apartment, running errands, doing chores, and watching TV.  Sure, the drive to Arcadia took hours, but it was an excuse to take a few days off for a long weekend, and at least do something with people she knew.  She hadn’t done anything like that in ages.

“We’re going to have so much fun!  It’s mostly a farmer’s faire, but there are all sorts of produce, and sweets, and baking competitions, and shows, and rides- it’ll be a blast!” she placed a hand on Caitlyn’s arm and gently tugged her old friend.  However, since Erin weighed a couple thousand pounds now, that gentle tug carried all the momentum needed to spring Cait forward, stumbling a bit before she caught her stride.  Erin was too excited to notice.

Cait placed her hand on Erin’s flank.  Her fur was coarse, warm, and a sort of earthy scent, heavy but wholesome, seemed to radiate from her.  Now that she took a moment to, well, unabashedly stare at her friend, Cait noticed that a pair of small, curved cow horns poked their way out of Erin’s blonde hair, her ears were elongated and bovine, twitching at passing noises (how the hell did she miss that when she first saw her in the crowd?), but, perhaps oddest still, her bovine udder between her rear legs was huge.  It waddled and wiggled with her clomping gait, almost hypnotically.  Granted, Cait had little idea of exactly what a cow’s udder looked like up-close, but there was no way they could be that full and round naturally.  It seemed like her friend had a flesh-covered beach ball hanging between her powerful rear legs, rolling and jiggling obscenely with her every movement.

Cait tore her attention away from her roommate’s udder.  She reached for something normal to say.  “Is there… like, a cover fee?”

“Nah.  This isn’t like a bar or theme park!  I mean, yeah, people will charge for stuff inside, but the faire is open to everyone!”

“Is it always so… crowded?” Cait asked, still trying to reassert normality.

Erin shook her head and flicked her ears as they passed under the arched wooden sign proclaiming ‘Arcadia Faire’ in flowing bold letters.  “It didn’t used to be, but things have really taken off these past couple years.  Remember how I always moaned about how dead this town was?  Well, about three years ago, some faeries came around to the county agricultural meetings.  They had some ideas on how to revitalize things and, well, they’ve worked!”

Erin chuckled.  “I suppose it’s been a rather fast change, but it’s been great!  Productivity is up, people are more involved in farm-work than ever, the value of our crops is through the roof, and every year more and more people are attracted to our local faires and celebrations!  The Arcadia Faire used to be a little thing with only a couple hundred people in attendance, but the number of visitors has more than doubled each year since we started working those fairies!”

That made sense, Caitlyn mused.  She didn’t really know much about faeries, but they were very magical, and faerie magic had a reputation for wholsomeness.  The expensive organic grocery stores loved selling fae-touched produce and goods back home.  If they thought Arcadia was a good town to invest in… well, it would explain the crowds, and magical changes, and… come to think of it…

“So… when did you become half cow?” Cait managed, unable to bat around the bush any longer.

“A little over a year ago.  Old’ Bess here was our best milker, but she was getting on in years.  Funny how you can get connected to milk cows.  Well, retiring her would have been quite a hit to our farm, but those faeries who’d been helping the town had an idea.  They could merge someone with the cow, and that has a sort of revitalization effect.  Pooling vitality, and all that, and the faeries like to give everything they touch a little living energy, too, you know?”

Cait didn’t really know, but it sounded like some things she’d heard somewhere.  She nodded her agreement.

“It made good market sense, too,” Erin continued.  “We can’t compete with mega farms for cost efficiency around here, but we can make a good profit selling specialty, personal, and organic stuff.”

“So… you got yourself merged with your favorite milk cow?”

“Yup!” Erin chuckled.  She shook her tail, slapping her rolling cow-rear with its coarse brush.  “Best decision I’ve ever made!  Just hopped on her back, the Good Lady said some words, and whoom!”  She clapped her hands together and stomped a hoof for emphasis.  Cait jumped a bit.

“Well, I guess it was a bit more complicated than that.  But it just feels so… right!  I’m contributing to the farm, I get tons of fresh air and exercise, and I just feel so great!  It’s taken some getting used to, but it was absolutely the best decision of my life!  Oh, and a couple months after I merged with ‘ol Bess, Annelise visited from college.  Did you ever meet little Anne?  I’m not sure.”

“No, but I remember the pictures you had of her,” Caitlyn said.  Erin always had a couple family pictures in their various dorm rooms.  While she never actually met Annelise, she recalled what she looked like; lankly, bright eyed, usually hugging her bigger sister, her blonde hair tied in braids or pigtails.

“Ah, yeah, that sounds right,” Erin continued, “well, she’d been following how Arcadia shaped up, and was just in love with all the changes.  Warmed up to the whole affair much more quickly than I did, to be honest.  She wasn’t really feeling engaged at college, so she decided to surprise me with her own gift.  Managed to buy a potion from one of the fae ladies, and then one morning while she was milking me she started giggling, quaffed the potion, and started suckling me.  Then SHWOOMP!” she clapped her hands together again, making a loud noise that didn’t resemble her onomatopoeia at all, but still struck out for emphasis.  “And just like that, my little sister became my big udder!”

Cait nearly stumbled at this.  Erin didn’t break her pace.  They were walking through a crowded thoroughfare lined with stalls adorned with colorful signs and wooden display tables, but Cait was having trouble paying attention to her surroundings.  “Your little sister is your udder?!

“Yup!  It surprised the hell out of me when it happened, but, well… it’s really worked out well.  I was already the farm’s best milker, but with her in there I more than quadrupled my daily yield!  And my udder is so sensitive now, just trotting like this feels amazing.  I need to be milked six times a day now, and, well, it always felt nice, but now it’s downright orgasmic.  Plus… heh, I just really like having her around, you know?  It’s kind of weird, and really hard to explain, but it just feels comforting to know she’s always here with me, safe and happy and productive between my rear legs.”

Cait didn’t know what to say to that.  “Well… I guess I’m happy for you, then?  Uh… do you need to be milked soon?  How does that work outside your farm?”

Erin laughed.  “Oh, don’t worry!  Lots of girls around here have milking needs.  My first two pumps of the day already happened so I’m good until lunch time.  And they have some stalls set up around here, so I can nice and squeezed in fifteen minutes.  Think of it as a bathroom break.”  Erin frowned.  “They pay me per gallon, but they undercut its market price and charge a service fee.  You’re paying for the convenience, really.  I could make more if I got milked back on the farm, but hey, it’ll cover today’s spending cash.”

She smiled again and slapped Cait on her shoulder.  “But enough about me!  Let’s have some fun!  Enjoy the fresh air, buy some treats, see the sights!  Oh!  I know just where to start!  You remember Anna from junior year, right?  Well she’s in town!  I think she’s off by the produce competition right now, I’m sure she’ll love to meet you!”

“Uh, sounds fun…” Cait said.  If Erin noticed her lack of enthusiasm, she chose not to mention it.  Instead, she held her friend by the hand and began trotting with purpose down the faire’s paths.

Cait took the opportunity to look around.  She noticed that Erin wasn’t the only transformed person here.  What she had at first thought were bucolic hats turned out to be people with leaves and flowers in lieu of hairs… some of whom had green skin, berries and fruits growing from their leafy manes, and she even saw one woman who seemed anchored in a rather large pot, a friend pushing her around on a hand-trolley.

She noticed a group of about a half dozen young women wearing matching white sweaters.  It took a moment to realize that those weren’t sweaters; those women were fluffy with wool, their feet ending in dark cloven hooves, flopping sheep ears hanging from their heads.  A very large dog walked up near one barked… only the dog seemed to be half human as well, with prominent breasts hanging under her chest and belly and human features along her head.  The sheep women dutifully began moving through the crowd, their dog chaperone striding beside them, tail wagging.  Caitlyn noticed a pair of testicles hanging beneath the dog-woman’s rear legs.

Cait was beginning to feel rather over-dressed.  She’d come in a nice white, buttoned-up blouse and a pair of dark trousers, her dark hair hanging around her shoulders.  Even the locals who weren’t transformed were in markedly more casual fare, dressed in t-shirts, jeans, and sneakers.  Cait was distinctly aware of looking like, well, a city-girl.

“Here we are!  What do you think?” Erin announced as they moved through the crowd and arrived at the competition.

“Woah,” Cait murmured.  It was about all she could manage.

She’d been expecting the farmer’s competition to be, well, quaint.  All she really knew about such things was what she’d picked up from old children’s books and movies.  Cait hadn’t really expected much more than a few booths with people showing off larger than average squashes, maybe a podium of some sort for a county official to declare winners and award ribbons.

And, to an extent, that’s more or less what she saw.  What blew her away was the scale and intensity of the setting.

The booths, such as they were, were set up along the faire’s main thoroughfare, packed with people (human and otherwise), festive lights strewn up overhead between the stalls and over the alleys.  Some few were showing off vegetables and melons, but many more were showing off…

“Ah, there’s Anna!” Erin tugged Cait through the crowd.  She didn’t see her old friend, not until they got to the front of the group.

“Oh, heya!” Anna chirped.

Cait remembered Anna as a petite girl, a little over five feet, often giddy and excitable.  She recognized her friend’s cute, round face, button nose, and eager eyes.  Only now, those features were ten feet off the ground, perched on the curve of a gigantic taut blue sphere.  Anna was… well, a blueberry.  Anna’s body was mostly three spheres, the ten foot wide orb of her body and twin six-foot wide balls of her breasts.  Her head was perched above her cleavage, balanced near the top of her round form, her long chestnut hair now a shock of bright purple, just like her lips and glistening nipples.  There were no signs of her hands or feet, not even fingers wiggling along the curve of her body, like she’d seen with some of the other berries and fruits.

Only after taking all that in did Cait realize her friend was naked.  It felt like an odd thing to notice since, after all, berries didn’t wear clothes.

“Oh, wow, Cait!  I haven’t seen you in two years!  How’ve you been?” she asked cheerily, smiling at her college friend.  Cait noticed that Anna’s lips were definitely more plump now.

“Oh, I’ve been fine.  Got a consulting job.  What have, um, what have you been up to?” Cait asked, feeling incredibly foolish for relying on something so trite while her friend was a gigantic fruit before her.

Anna didn’t seem to mind.  Instead, she giggled.  “Well, I guess I’ve gotten really into farming!  I actually started my regimen a couple months after we graduated!”

“Regimen?” Cait asked, shooting Erin a questioning look.  Her cowgirl friend just smirked.

“Well, of course!  Prize winning blueberries don’t just happen!  It takes years of training, conditioning, and willpower to make fruit this good!” Anna said with pride.

“Wait, prize-winning?” Erin interjected, “did the berry competition already happen?”

“Yup!  We arranged it earlier this year.  I have the blue ribbon and everything!  Oh!  You can’t see it cause’ it’s near my butt.”  She gestured with her eyes, pretty much the only part of her capable of movement, and Erin and Cait shifted a bit.

Anna was placed in something like a stall, well padded with some type of mattress.  When Cait peaked behind the crowd-facing façade she was hit by a palpable aroma, sweet and lustrous and lustful.  It smelled like blueberries, but heavier, heartier, and more intense than any she had ever known.  Cait gasped when she realized the scent was emanating from the four foot long, dripping pussy that dominated Anna’s rear hemisphere.  Her labial lips were flush and purple, glistening with feminine (and, presumably, berry) juice, a steady stream dripping down and off her curve into a wide, elevated pan that funneled the flow into a barrel.  An adjacent table had a sign inviting people to try the natural Annaberry Juice, complete with rows of empty paper cups and a recycle bin half-filled with those same, now purple-stained vessels.  Cait realized that most of the nearby stalls, those still with girls, or berries, in them, each had a similar set-up.

“It’s for testing their flavor,” Erin explained, seeing her friend’s befuddlement.

“Oh… I see, I think,” Cait replied, blushing at just how lewd this display was.  Sure enough, she saw a blue ribbon sticking to Anna’s… well, what would have been her butt, but was now a stretch of taut, curved, featureless berry-skin a foot or so to the left her vagina.  It read “Arcadia First-Prize Berry, 2027”.  Idly, Cait noticed that it seemed to be of high quality, made of gold-lined silk.  She guessed it was adhered to her friend, rather than pinned on her.

“Congrats, Anna!” Erin cheered as she led Cait back in front.  “Was it a close competition?”

“I thought it would be, but Kimberly Halstalt, you know her?  She was shaping up to be huge!  She was going to give me a tough run for first place, but there was a mix-up on the Halstalt farm and she was processed into liqueurs a week ago.  I heard some gossip about her boyfriend getting involved, and some other rumors that she was ripening too slowly, and another about her getting into a fight with big-mamma Halst and arranging the mix-up herself.”  Anna giggled again, for all the world like the gossipy girl Cait knew in college.

“Wow, I hadn’t heard that.  So the Halstalts didn’t field an entry this year?” Erin asked, clearly more up to date on farm-land politics and rivalry than Cait.

“Oh, no, they wouldn’t do that!  Kim’s younger sister, Stephanie, was entered instead!  Kind of a rush job, but she came out really nice, especially considering she had such short notice.”  Anna gestured with her eyes again and Cait turned to see another stall, this one with a bright, cherry-red woman maybe six feet across, with bean-chair sized breasts and leafy green hair that, after an instant, Cait realized was actually composed of leafs.  She was being rolled by a half-dozen people, half of whom seemed to share similar features with the upside berry girl’s face.  Her hands and feet were still visible, poking out of her sides and wiggling ineffectively as she was moved.

“Still a good show!  If she can keep this up, I’m certain she’ll place next year,” Anna continued.

“So… ah, what does a berry do?” Cait asked, looking away from where Stephanie was being loaded onto a padded wooden cart.

“Oh!  You remember Justin, right?” Anna beamed.  She recalled Anna’s boyfriend during junior and senior year, but before she could say so Anna continued, “she’s been studying!  She just finished her courses, and now she’s a fully accredited Chefess!  Right now she’s getting prepared for the cooking competition tomorrow!”

Anna licked her lips and giggled.  It seemed like an odd gesture, until Cait realized it was probably the only thing the tremendous berry girl could do to express her excitement.  “Tomorrow she’s going to make prize winning pies, and I get to be the main ingredient!”

“Oh, wow, I’ll be looking forward to it!” Erin chuckled, playfully slapping Anna on her… berry ass?  Cait realized she had no idea how to refer to a blueberry’s anatomy.  “We’ll be there!  But I need to show Cait around.”

“It was great chatting with you two!  Have fun, and be sure to ask for seconds tomorrow!” Anna chirped as Erin guided Cait away.

The last of the berries and fruits were being packed away.  The Halstat cherry had been firmly rolled into their truck and some teams were moving the last few.  Cait saw a watermelon about six feet across, the elongated green-striped sphere had a woman’s head, hands, and feet giggling and wiggling as it was being rolled into a carrying crate by a couple men.  Another woman was being guided away by a woman in farmer’s overalls… this one was apparently still mobile, with bright red skin bulging out into what looked like dozens of breasts, each with a darker nipple.  They were tightly packed, covering her entire upper body up to her neck.  She still had legs, albeit bright red ones, but her arms appeared to have vanished beneath her tightly packed breasts.  Her farmer helped the raspberry girl balance as she guided her away from the stall, the two smiling and joking, apparently in good spirits.

“That was… impressive,” Cait said, once she was certain she and Erin were out of ear-shot.

“Oh yeah, it’s gotten really competitive over the last few years,” Erin replied, guiding Cait through the crowded thoroughfare.

“Are… are they all going to be pies?”

Erin laughed, “oh, my, you really are a city girl!  Nah, you couldn’t make a living that way.  You’d run through all the eligible girls and guys in town within a couple years.”

“So the change is usually reversible?”

Erin chuckled again, her udder bobbling a little with the motion in a way that made Cait rather uncomfortable.

“Now, I didn’t say that!  Becoming produce is a big decision, and the spells we use around here are potent stuff.  They don’t just expand, they become the fruit.  It’s…” she rolled her eyes upward, as if searching for the right words, “a normal human is an animal, with all the things she needs to walk, move around, and work… bones and organs and muscle and stuff like that.  Anna back there is a berry now.  She’s fruit, inside and out.  So it isn’t like the procedure just expands over a person, and you can juice ‘em back down to normal shape.  They become produce, nothing but fruit-flesh, juice, and seeds on the inside.”

She paused for a moment before waving her hand in the air, as though brushing aside a metaphor.  “Well, a bit more than normal fruit.  That gets to your first question.  I don’t understand the fairy magic, but as it was explained to me, there’s a sort of feedback-loop going on there.  Fruit is really a sexual thing, formed from fertilized flowers, basically an ovum around the egg.  When it’s a person becoming the fruit, it carries over that sort of sympathetic-magic thing, and the fairies use that as an energy source.  Basically, with some sunlight and stimulation, a fruit-girl keeps producing.  If she’s tapped regularly, then she produces a constant stream of juice, jam, puree, even seeds, depending on the fruit.  But… well, fruit exists to be eaten, and so a lot of the girls who get that change seem to drift towards giving more of themselves, like Anna.  We can’t do it all the time, but when we do… well, let’s just say you’re going to have one hell of a pie tomorrow.”

Cait found herself laughing.  “Well… I guess it would be rude not to… not after the main ingredient gave me such a heart-felt invitation…”

“That’s the spirit!” Erin cheered.  “C’mon, there’s still lots to see!”
