Finally, a better look at the hotel
Author's Note: Who boy everyone! Have I got a story to tell. If you're seeing this story even somewhat presentably, then I managed to avoid activating some weird glitch that started happening when I was trying to format this story for Eclipse. Basically, whenever I tried to select text, it would transform the text into a deviantart Winky Face emote. Absolutely no clue why, but it's insanely late when I'm posting this, and I simply don't have the time to go in and deal with this stupid bug when it's still technically readable in this unformatted version (albeit, not as slick looking). As such, I'm going to be refraining from adding a 'Next Part' button to yesterday's episode until I'm certain that the glitch will not occur again. I'll attempt to reformat it in the morning, but until then we'll just have to deal with this as best we can.
Edit: So, I figured it out (at least I'm pretty sure I did). One thing that I've noticed about the change to Eclipse is that when I copied documents from my word processor to here, it actually kept some things of the formatting in the document, in particular italicized and bold words. What I think was going on, was that initially, the story had a winking face [; followed by )] in the story. For those who don't normally use emoticons on Deviantart, these two character usually are instantly changed to this:
. So, from what I can tell, I think copying and pasting this emoticon made their word processor shit the bed and it continuously tried to replace the two symbols with the proper emoticon, but instead was replacing selected segments with the emoticon.
To make a long story short, I'm basically going to be avoiding including the emoticons in my stories from now on. Enjoy the story with its proper formatting.
Huge shoutout once more to MagicJeans and WanderTones for allowing me to use their characters in this story.
As always, leave questions that you want to ask any character down below. They will be answered in the next chapter. From last year, it's generally good form to split up multiple questions between different characters by at the start of a question character_name: question, but you can do whatever you want really.
