There were several things that were running through her head at that very moment. The fact that it was extremely dark and that she could hardly see anything. The fact that she couldn’t really remember anything. The fact that she felt an odd feeling that she was missing something she was supposed to have. Of all these things though, the most pressing fact running through her head was the fact that she was currently drowning, and if she didn’t do something about it, she was surely going to die.
She moved her… arms? She thinks they’re called arms. Whatever, she moved the two appendages on either side of her center closest to her thoughts forward, pushing against… something. It was some sort of wall, it had a slick texture, but did not feel particularly strong. All she knew was that she would have to break it or drown.
*Bang* One hit with both of her arms (slowed down to the liquid surrounding her, but a solid hit nonetheless).
*Bang* Another.
*Bang* A crack appeared in the wall.
*Bang* She was losing consciousness, and fast. The crack was getting larger
*BANG* The wall shattered. Rather than stopping at the wall, her arms threw her out of the capsule that held her and the water. As she hit the floor, water flooded out over her, quickly diapering out across the hard concrete floor. She breathed, the water already making its way towards her lungs getting sucked in further, forcing her to cough it out in a fit of pain. A few more breaths and coughing fits, and she was as close to normal as she was going to get for an amnesiac.
‘Ugh,’ she thought, really the only though she was certain about, ‘I need to get out of this place.’ She shakily stood up in the dark, or at least tried to stand up. She found it hard to balance on the singular… leg(?) that she had attached to her center (body?) at the point farthest away from her thoughts. Eventually though, she found her center of balance and hopped over to where she had flopped out of the container. She ran her hands against the edge, backing away slightly as her hand touched the place where the wall had previously been, cutting herself on the jagged edge of the wall. Something in her mind told her that the sensation was not supposed to be good, however when she investigated her hand, it looked fine. Shrugging, she continued investigating the container, making sure to avoid the previous place where the wall had been.
Her eyes had begun to adjust to the darkness a little bit (granted not much, but she could make out a couple of shapes in the darkness now). While she couldn’t find anything on the inside of the container that held her, the shapes that she was now making out in the darkness were clearly more containers that had a similar outline to her own. She approached the nearest one and tried to look in. She wasn’t able to make out much, but from the look of things, there was another body inside. However, this one had wires sticking into it and was also missing anything but its core body.
The sound of shifting occurred, and suddenly light began to fill the room. Almost immediately a sense of irrational fear began to enter her body, mostly around the fact that she was worried that whoever was holding her here was returning, and that they were coming to get her now that she had escaped. Thankfully though, as her eyes began to adjust to the lights that now shown overhead, she could clearly see that her position was hidden from the now open large door.
As much as she wanted to look into the container now that she could see, she only caught a cursory glance of the body suspended in green liquid via a network of wires before she crouched to the floor and tried to catch a sneak around the corner of her hiding place.
Standing in front of one of the containers was a person. Her mind immediately told her that it was a man and that she was a woman, but she wasn’t sure what does differences entailed. Either way, the man was rather large, wearing black clothes that covered his body well and a hat that stood ridiculously high above the highest extremity on his body (his head?). She hadn’t thought about it, but now that she noticed he was covering himself, her cheeks burned red with shame. She had no such covering, the balls of fat on her chest (breasts?) hanging freely towards the ground and the slit next to her singular leg that was dripping slightly were openly visible for anyone who wanted to to see. He similarly had two arms, but differed in that he had two legs. She wasn’t sure if this was supposed to be the norm and she was the one who was wrong, but she didn’t really care about that fact.
The man was fiddling with the glass wall of the container with a smaller piece of metal. After turning the smaller piece of metal, he removed it, easily sliding the clear wall away from the container, causing the green liquid to spill out to the floor just like her pod, the liquid pooling towards a hole in the floor. The man reached into the container, grabbing something and helping it out of the pod.
The something actually turned out to be a someone. It was a woman who had the same amount of limbs (confirming her suspicion that her current layout of limbs was not normal), was similarly unclothed, and had bright blue strands of something coming out of her head (hair?). The man whispered something into her ear, and she shakily shook her head up and down. The man (who was significantly taller than the much shorter woman) ducked down slightly, having her drape her arm around his head as they awkwardly shuffled out of the room through the still wide open door. As they passed the threshold, a loud noise began to emanate through the room as the door began to slowly close, the two people having already left. The door was now closing, and she was uncertain whether or not the door would ever open again after it closes.
She had to make a decision.
