“Okay folks, here’s your order of hot wings,” Sapphire said, delivering to the table a plate of twelve chicken wings (not boneless wings, because let’s be honest here, boneless chicken wings are nothing more than glorified chicken strips or chicken nuggets) that were colored bright red and gave off the scent of death, before rushing back to the restaurant.
     “Ooh! My favorite!” Veronica said.
“Well, I thought I would get my favorite meal for my favorite girl,” Spencer said, bending to give her a kiss on her cheek.
Echo (who had placed her head back on her neck head more for convenience’s sake) reached out for one of the wings and took a tentative bite, before spitting it out, “*Blegh* Water *Cough* I need water!” Echo coughed out, rushing away from the table in the search for something to lessen the agonizing pain she was experiencing.

“Ooh! Just the way I like it! Honey, can you help?” Veronica said, gesturing towards her lack of arms with her head.
“Of course,” Spencer said, grabbing a wing and helping his girlfriend eat it. “So, do you even remember the first time we had hot wings together?”
“Ha! Do I remember?” Veronica said, tears already beginning to form in her eyes, “You cried like a baby only after one wing.”
“I distinctly remember the opposite,” Spencer said, grabbing a wing for himself and another for his girlfriend.
“Oh no! Don’t try and pull that routine on me. I remember it like it was yesterday. You’re buddies wouldn’t come watch the game with you, so you invited me so you wouldn’t have to go alone. You were trying to showoff and you ordered the ghost pepper wings saying it was tradition to eat them with your buds. You barely made it past the first wing before you threw up,” Veronica laughed, a stray tear falling down her face.
“That’s not how I remember it at all!”
“Oh really hotshot? Please share then and get me another wing,” Veronica was currently easily outnumbering Spencer four to one in terms of wings eaten.
“Well… the first part of your story was true, but before we got the wings we both had a couple of drinks and actually watched the game. It wasn’t until the game was practically over and we were both practically wasted that you said we should order wings. You were the one who ordered the ghost pepper wings and dared me to eat one, but I threw up before I actually took a bite of one. After I threw up, I had to finished the wings after you tried one and said it was way too hot for you,” During the story, Veronica had devoured another two wings.
     “Puh-lease!”
“It’s the truth!” Spencer chuckled, another wing for him and his girl (seven to three: advantage Veronica).
“Really? If we were so drunk that you were throwing up, how do you even remember the story then?” By this point Veronica’s face was practically as red as the few wings that were remaining, and tears and snot were freely flowing down her face.
“We weren’t black out drunk, just pretty drunk,” Spencer said, grabbing one of the napkins he had the foresight to grab and wiped the liquids off of Veronica’s face.
“Heh. Whatever you say then big boy,” Veronica said, reaching over and giving Spencer a kiss. “Thanks for the wings.” Of the twelve wings, Veronica had nine, while Spencer only had three.

Spencer gave their faces a thorough wipe down (wetting the napkin’s slightly to get rid of any of the sauce that had managed to dry on their faces). “Do you think… Never mind,” Spencer started.
“No no. What were you about to ask?”
“Well… I was thinking. If- When we get out of this park. Do you think it would be okay if we gave us one more shot?”
    “Spence-“
“Look Veronica. I’m a big enough man to admit it. I know I’m not the most faithful guy, but when I found out that you slept with Devon, I suddenly realized just how awful it must have been for you all the times you caught me doing things with other girls. However, after all we’ve been through today, that all seems like just petty relationship stuff. So, I’m going to ask you again. Would you be okay, after this is all said and done and we’re back to normal, with giving our relationship another shot, and this time I promise I will be faithful only to you.”
“Yes Spencer! Of course! I was going to say yes before you interrupted me you dingus!” Veronica said, crying now not because of the spiciness of the food, but because of how overjoyed she was.
“Great!” Spencer said, scooping the girl into her arms (eliciting a whoop from her) and giving her a long, drawn-out kiss.

The two were snuggling up when Echo walked back to the table, a tall glass of milk in her hand, “Ugh, I don’t know how you two could eat those.”
“C’mon Echo, I’ve gone to dinner with your parents and they love spicy food,” Veronica chuckled, still looking lovingly into her lover’s eyes
“They might, but I can’t stand the stuff,” Echo said, taking a long swig from her glass of milk (her face still beet red from the single bite of spicy food she had earlier), “back home my mom would have to make my food separate because I can’t handle the stuff the rest of my family eats.” The group chuckled as Veronica jumped down from Spencer’s seat, returning to her seat as their conversation naturally drifted on to other (unimportant) topics.

After another few minutes of small talk, Veronica moaned, “Oooh…”
“What’s wrong honey?” Spencer asked, looking at her nervously.
“Ughh… I’m not sure…” Veronica continued to moan, if she had arms, she would be clutching her stomach.
“She’s not looking too hot, and neither do you Spencer,” Echo said, standing up and taking charge of the situation, “I think it might be the wings. Here, I’ll take her to the girls room, you should probably head to the bathroom too.” She scooped the truncated Veronica into her arms and rushed to the women’s room conveniently located nearby.
Spencer, his stomach similarly beginning to rumble as a dull pain rolled over him, rushed to the men’s bathroom directly adjacent to it.

What transformation occurs to Spencer and Veronica?
1.) The heat causes Spencer to soften and Veronica to melt
2.) Spencer and Veronica start growing wings (Veronica goes a bit further)
3.) Turns out it was just gas, Echo on the other hand…
