Heather made a motion towards Lindsey to hold up. Down the hallway, two ghosts in camouflage gear stood watch. Dismayed, Heather almost made a retreat gesture, but she stopped just as she noticed a conveniently large air vent relatively close to the ground. Pointing towards it, Lindsey understood what to do, so she curled into a ball on the floor, allowing Heather to climb up on her and try opening the grate. Thankfully, the cover came off relatively quietly (with a little help from a swiss army knife), and laid it down on the ground. Creating a stepping stone for Lindsey with her arms, Lindsey climbed up into the air vents, shortly followed by Heather moments later.

It was immediately apparent why the vents were so large, as after moments of crawling both girls gasped in shock as a stench unlike any other entered their nostrils. The smell smelled as if several hundred things died within the confines of the air vents. Doing their best to plug their noses while making as little noise as possible, the girls continued down the vent. Along the way, they passed over vents placed above several large vats of red slime, which was the clearly the source of the disgusting smell.

Eventually, the girls managed to crawl through the vents long enough that the smell dissipated enough that they could breathe once again. “Ugh, that was disgusting,” Lindsey complained, stopping in her tracks.
“Yeah, but we have to hurry, midnight’s is less than an hour away and I want us all to be far away from this place when it comes up,” Heather said, pushing on Lindsey to get her going again.
     “Fine…” Complained Lindsey, continuing forward.

They had began to pass over various different storage rooms when Lindsey stopped once more. Heather was about to ask why she stopped, when Lindsey gave her a signal to be quiet. Crawling over a vent, Lindsey beckoned Heather forward, pointing downwards into the room below.

Beneath them, Veronica was tied in the same chair they had seen earlier, while two buff ghosts brought in a large vat of the dark red goo. “What are you going to do to me?” She asked with her own voice.
“Well, we only really needed your head for the fulfillment of the contract, so we’re going to turn you into a ghost as well and use you as a milker for Miracle Curing’s eventual empire”
“Milker?!” Veronica shouted, clearly having been giving the same treatment as Heather.
“Oh, no need to freak out miss. Being a milker is a high honor. It means you’ll be safe forever, having eternal servants to collect your ectoplasm, probably be given anything you ever wanted in life.”
“But what if I don’t want to be a milker!”
“Well, I’m afraid you gave away that decision when you signed away your life at the beginning of this evening,” One of the ghosts said, producing a copy of the waiver the group had signed earlier that evening.
“We thought it was just part of the atmosphere though!”
“Sorry miss, but don’t worry, as soon as we have this set up, we’ll place you in quickly so it’ll be done sooner.” The ghost said, getting back to work on spinning various dials on the vat.

Lindsey made a look to Heather, mouthing, “What are we going to do?”
Heather made a gesture to get Lindsey the back up from the vent. Swiveling, Heather aimed her legs squarely at the vent, kicking it down and crashing into the room below, it landing squarely on top of one of the ghost’s heads, knocking him out cold.
The other ghost, hearing the commotion behind him, turned towards the vent and walked directly beneath it, shouting, “Hey!-“ He didn’t get to finish the sentence, as Heather jumped down, landing on his face and knocking him out too.
Looking upwards, Heather said, “Jump down! I’ll catch you!” to Lindsey, who complied, landing gracefully into Heather’s arms. Turning back towards Veronica, who was just staring at them in shock, she said, “Don’t worry, we’ll get you out,” Heather said, playing with Veronica’s leg cuffs while Lindsey worked on her arms.

When they finally got her out of her seat, Heather asked, “Are you okay? How are the others?”

What does Veronica do next?
1.) Begins to cry (She was the last of their friends to undergo this treatment)
2.) Tell them they need to hurry (She’s the first of their friends)
3.) Asks them how they escaped their cell (Something seems off…)
