Dusting herself off, Veronica asked her two saviors, “Thanks so much for saving me! The others are just fine, the ghosts said they were going to hold the rest until the ritual thingy, but how did you escape your cell?”
Lindsey, relieved with the good news, said, “Oh, it was actually really simple, you see-“
“Wait!” Heather said, interrupting Lindsey, “How did you know we were kept in a cell?”
“O-oh, we were brought to some cells too… so I just assumed that’s where they took you both to,” Veronica said, a nervous edge in her voice.
Heather, still slightly suspicious of her friend, said, “I see… Well, it doesn’t really matter how we got out. We need to go find the others.”
“Well, there’s probably guards patrolling the hallways, so we can use the vents to get to the room where they’re holding Susan and save her,” Veronica said, setting herself underneath the vent and making a step for them.
“Wait a second,” Lindsey said, moving away from Veronica to stand next to Heather, “I thought you said you were all being kept in cells, not rooms…”
    “Oh, um… I must have misspoke…”
“Not to mention, wouldn’t you be more interested in going after Spencer?”

“Well… I… Ugh, Shit. I’m tired of acting. Time to get this stupid thing off.” Veronica stood up, and much to the horror of the two girls, grabbed both sides of Echo’s head and pulled up, removing it with the same dark blue goo appearing throughout the night. Clapping her hands, the ghost from the Dining room descended from the ceiling, the ghostly form of Veronica’s head still attached. Reaching up, Veronica’s human body grabbed her head, ripping it off the ghost as a jettison of blue goo exploding from the ghost’s severed, fat neck. Veronica’s body shooed the ghost away, it disappearing by floating through the ceiling, as it attached her head to her body, the head remaining in its strange ghostly form. “Ooh, much better.”
“Who the fuck are you, and what did you do to our friend?” Heather shouted at the strange part-human, part-ghost abomination.
“Guys, it’s still me. I’m still Veronica, it’s just that I have so much more knowledge of how the world works this way,” Veronica said, her body floating into the air, being suspended precariously by her ghostly neck, which stretched slightly to accommodate the weight. “When that ghost thing took my head, I wasn’t kidding when I said it was still me. I had full control over its disgusting body, and my own. However, in that brief time where my human body was headless, I realized how truly useless us staying as humans was. So, I made a deal with Scarlett’s boss that I would act as a plant and would do anything they would need of me, in exchange for the right to become a full ghost.”
“But what about when you were talking with those guards! You were clearly in fear!”
“Oh that? the guards reported that you two had managed to escape, and so we set up this room as a trap, I was supposed to get you back in the air vents and lead you to the trap, but it’s okay, because when I don’t show up in five minutes, they’re going to come check up on me in this room.”
“You couldn’t possibly have known we were going to come save you!” Heather argued.
“But of course I did, we knew which vent you entered, and that you wouldn’t be able to just leave your friend in trouble. There was no chance you were going to get away.”
“What about our friends!? Did you lie about them too?” Lindsey asked.
“Oh no. I didn’t lie about them, they’re all still safe and human… for now,” Veronica gave them a menacing grin.

Lindsey, no longer able to accept that their kind friend Veronica had been transformed into this heartless, half-human monstrosity, sucker punched the girl right in the jaw, her hand connecting hard despite how it appeared semi-transparent. The hit was so powerful, Veronica’s lower jaw ripped right off her head, the bit taking her lower teeth and tongue with it, leaving a gaping maw that spewed dark blue goo onto the floor
“Yough ich!” Veronica shouted gutturally, throwing a punch at Lindsey and hitting her squarely in the chest. Slightly stunned, Lindsey backed up, before gathering back her senses and going back after the girl.

The two shared blows with one another for a couple of minutes, before grappling one another and struggling, until…

What is the result of the fight?
1.) Veronica wins, throwing Lindsey into the red goo, transforming her into a ghost
2.) Veronica, realizing she’s losing the fight, dives into the vat of red goo
3.) Veronica is overpowered, the girls incapacitate her before they leave.
