“What do you mean first game!” Lindsey demanded.
“Well Sugar, it would hardly be a party if only one game were played, don’t you think?” Scarlett grinned.
“Bu-“
“No buts, anyway, one of you is going to have to get into that chair so we can start the game!”
The group looked at each other as though they were trying to decide who was most deserving of a death sentence. They had gotten by in the previous game just barely, so who’s to say their luck would be as good this time.
“Well,” Heather said, being the first to dare to speak up, “I don’t know about anyone else, but I nominate Lindsey.”
“What did you say, Bitch?” Lindsey said, getting up close and personal with Heather.
“Well, you were the one who was dumb enough to stick her arm into some strange contraption. Not to mention the fact that you were kind of a bitch to Echo.”
“Oh really? Well…I nominate Heather!” Lindsey said, giving her a smug look as they faced each other.
“Okay then, let’s take a vote, all in favor of Heather,” Veronica said. Only Lindsey raised her hand, causing her smug look to be replaced with surprise. “All in favor of Lindsey?” Everyone else in the group raised their hands. “Guess it’s decided then…”
“So glad that y’all sorted your beef out,” Scarlett said, walking over to Lindsey and firmly grasping her shoulder, leading the shocked girl and strapping her into the seat. The machine then seemed to open up, the chair retracting into the mass of blue wires, before closing up and engulfing the girl.
From inside the mass of wires, an audible “Ouch!” Lindsey then shouted, angrily, “Hey, this dumb machine just pricked me!” A whirling noise then began to emit form the machine, as the holes that had sealed from the completion of the last game opened up once again. Out from the holes began to emerge the various limbs of Lindsey, her arms and legs in completely impossible relations to where her head was. Lindsey’s head was screaming her lungs out “What the fuck did you do to me!!!”
A strange beeping noise began to emerge from the machine, Scarlett raised her flag, “Now group, if you’ll follow me into the games closet, I’m afraid things are about to get a little messy in here.”
“Wait! Don’t leave me in here! Messy How?!” Lindsey shouted as the group, not wanting to be in the room when the machine’s beeping would end, quickly followed Scarlett into the closet.
The closet itself was completely empty, simply a small bare room that barely held the group of 6 people. “Don’t worry, it’ll be over in three, two-“ A huge crash pushed against the door, the sound of heavy machinery moving around and grinding against one another entering from the cracks.
Eventually, the noise died down, “Okay y’all, I’ll need y’all’s help to open the door.” The group pushed together against the door, experiencing resistance before finally opening the door enough for everyone to get out. Once outside, they were greeted to a surprising view.
The floor of the room was almost completely covered with the blue wires from the strange device. The wires crossed one another and around the furniture in complex patterns all emanating from the brown table in the center of the room. Where previously the large device had been, was now what must have been Lindsey’s torso (as it was covered in Lindsey’s clothes). Wires stretched out from her shoulders, thighs, and neck. From somewhere in the room, a muffled scream could be heard. A digital clock on the wall of the room appeared out of nowhere, and began to count down from five minutes
“This next game is called ‘The Human Puzzle’! You’ve got five minutes to find your friends limbs and retract them to her body, or else she loses the part! and Go!”
The group, rather than dallying and debating how best to split up the room to search, jumped into the mesh of wire, looking desperately for the limbs of their captured friend. Spencer made a quick dash for where the shouting was coming from, and after some digging was able to pull Lindsey’s head out from the tangle of wires. Where her neck should have been, instead had the same blue wires sticking out, going back into the tangle. As he pulled it towards her body, he found her neck wire stuck on several other wires. “Guys, I think this is going to be a bit harder than we thought.” He then ducked her head back into the tangles, trying his best to get her neck untangled so that he could properly bring it back to her body.
Eventually, after much shuffling, searching and untangling, the group had managed to get all of her limbs on, save her left arm. Looking towards the wall timer, Heather saw they only had thirty seconds left. “I found it!” A shout came from the corner of the room where Echo was triumphantly holding Lindsey’s remaining limb. As everyone else had been searching around opposite corners and were thoroughly entangled, it seemed as though Echo were on her own to get the arm to Lindsey. She managed to get the last of the surrounding wires untangled, and began crawling back with five seconds to spare.
Five.
Four.
Three.
Two.
One.
Echo was stopped short at the foot of the table, a sudden clicking sound came from the arm she was holding, as the wires around the room began retracting towards the now empty seat. The shoulder of the now ownerless arm was covered in the same dark blue goo that was present in the wires. Eventually, the room looked exactly the same as before this second game had started.
“Looks like we’re running out of time in this room, but we still have enough for one more game…” Scarlett grinned as two more chairs emerged from the device.
Which two will be playing the final game?
1.) Veronica and Spencer
2.) Susan and Echo
3.) Heather and Lindsey
