A wave of relief washed over Bernice’s face as she brought her hands away. She leaped forward, grasping Nate in a loving embrace.
“It worked!” she cheered, “I’m so happy it actually worked. You’re a genius, Nate!”
“Well… it was kind of my fault to begin with…” Bernice had long since broken their embrace, and had successfully removed her head again and relayed the information to Juliet, who began jumping for joy.
Reattaching her head, Bernice noticed the time was 5:30 AM from a clock on a nearby table. “So, I still have a half hour to kill before Nanna will get up, have anything else interesting to test?”

Bernice pulled away, separating her head and starting to place the tube on her neck. “It’s wonderful! But let’s hurry, I don’t want to be late for the make-up test.”
