Maple waddled into her master’s bedroom. She seen her master all day, and she hoping to play around a little. She reached up, working the doorknob with her teeth and opened the door, however the doorway remained blocked thanks to the large pile of clothes lying on the floor.
Working her adorably chubby dachshund body over the mountain of clothes, Maple waddled over and climbed up to her master’s bead.
‘What’s this?’ she thought, “Why is master holding that soccer ball.” She got closer and sniffed the strange object, only to realize that strange ball was her master’s head!
“OH MY GOD!” she barked, “I have to go warn master’s mother!”
Maple bound out of the room like a brown hunting dog, running down the staircase and into the kitchen, where Nanna had been sitting after returning home and taking Maple on her daily walk.
“Maple! I’m on the phone!” Nanna nudged Maple, who had been nibbling at her leg. “Sorry Jenny. How’s Jake?”
Maple, frustrated with Nanna, ran back upstairs. She approached the head again, giving it a gentle lick.
“mmmhmhmhm. Maple? Let me sleep.”
Satisfied her master was alive, but still nervous, Maple curled up next to Bernice.
