‘HELP!’ shouted Bernice’s body telepathically.

“What’s wrong!?” Bernice’s head shouted from the living room. It was then that the lights, plunging the room into darkness. It appeared as if someone had turned off the power.

“Who’s there!?” Bernice’s head yelled into the darkness. It hadn’t dawned on her until now just how helpless she was.

Loud stomping sounds began to be heard, coming from upstairs! *THUMP!* *THUMP!* *THUMP!*

A tall figure in a black hoodie and sweatpants entered the room. Bernice did her best to remain quiet, trying to hide as best she could on her couch in the dark room. Unfortunately … *Achoo!* she sneezed.

The stranger, hearing the noise, walked up to the couch, and reached up, removing their head!

‘BOO!’ Bernice’s body telepathically shouted. “AAAAAAGGH!” Bernice’s head shouted.

Bernice’s body turned the lights on, revealing that the head had simply been a mannequin’s head that Bernice had stolen on a dare years ago. ‘You should have seen your face! That was the most hilarious thing ever!” Bernice’s body was rolling on the floor with laughter.

“Shut up! I was worried. You don’t seem to realize how screwed I would be if there were an actual burglar!”
