Evie fidgeted with the set of keys, a scuffed plastic genie hanging from the chain. They were Sophia’s keys, the genie well worn from years of jostling in her pockets, left dangling from the Emporium’s door yet again. Evie held the genie between her fingers, sensing magic inside… Sophia had mentioned there was a summoning enchantment on them, so she could always magic them back into her pocket, but there was a different kind of magic woven within, as well. Evie turned it over, wondering… transmutation?
With a deft flurry of magic, Evie threw the keychain up into the air. The plastic cracked and glowed, shattering into a glittering motes of light. As the dust settled, a giddy human stood wobbling on legs she hadn’t used in years, stumbling back to lean against the door.
“Oh,” the former keychain said, trying to string thoughts into words, managing a simple “hi.”
“You okay?” Evie asked, stretching out a paw to steady the ‘genie’, still dressed in the fancy silks of her cartoon appearance.
“Yeah, just… been a while.”
“Mischa, right?” Evie asked, remembering some time back when Sophia mentioned someone who’d wanted to be ‘useful’ around the Emporium, “I knew you’d been transformed, but I didn’t expect you to be a humble keychain. Especially not one Sophia kept losing…”
“Ah, well,” Mischa rubbed the back of her neck, still tingling with pins and needles, “it was nice and relaxing for a while. Though I am kinda glad to be out in the fresh air and sunshine again.”
“I can imagine,” Evie smirked, stepping back, the sight of Mischa leaning against the door reminding her of another somewhat ill-fated customer. “You know,” Evie continued, “if you want to be useful again, maybe have better scenery than a pocket, I do have another job you could do. Let me get you some tea, and we can discuss the details…”
An hour or so later, the eager volunteer had returned to the Emporium’s door, carefully posed just so in the middle by Evie’s guiding paws.
“Okay, let’s see if I can do this deliberately this time,” Evie said, concentrating on the spell. The phrasing might have worried Mischa, but she’d just spent five years safely as a keychain watching customers come and go in so many different forms. She trusted these witches, even if they didn’t seem like they always knew what they were doing. Evie’s hands glowed, wisps of energy drifting over to Mischa. She felt the motes dancing across her skin, the crackling of energy lifting her hairs up on end, the warmth of Evie’s magic filling her body.
Somehow, Mischa felt heavy and weightless at the same time. A sense of mass filling her body, a sluggishness to her movements. Every joint was stiff, every muscle aching, every breath slower than the last. Yet Mischa felt calm, and relaxed, and weightless. Resting against the door, like the shop itself was supporting her. Her feet felt lighter on the ground until they lifted gently, her toes tickled by the tips of grass.
“Oh, wow,” Mischa said, trying to look down. Her shoulders were stuck into the wood of the door, pinning her in place, stopping her from getting a good look at her lower body. From her waist down, her body was fading away, pulling back into the rest of her. The mass of it flowed into the rest of her increasingly heavy body, flesh gradually turning to gold. Most of the extra material flowed to her chest, her breasts rising up and outwards. Full and heavy, they shone brightly in the sun, rounding out into unnaturally perfect globes. Mischa was shrinking, too, as more of her transformed into dense metal. Though it was hard for her to notice: partly as, from her perspective, the world was just getting a little bigger and Evie’s werewolf form already towered over her; and partly as her new breasts were dominating both her vision and her attention. She reached up with sluggish hands, running them across their smooth surfaces, biting her lip as shivers of pleasure run through them.
Evie smirked a little, clearing her throat, “sorry, seems most transformations tend to… heighten your senses. Especially if you’re shrinking down,” the werewolf paused for a moment to touch a paw against Mischa’s hand, padded digits wrapping around it completely. “Though I suppose that makes things more fun, right?”
Mischa blushed red in agreement, somewhat sheepishly lifting her hands away, slipping out of Evie’s paw. Besides, she could already feel the magic pulling on her arms, the spell working its way through them, shrinking them away into nothing. Simplifying the ends of her shoulders into graceful curves capping her torso. There was so little left of her now: a head resting on her upper torso, dominated by her gleaming breasts, framed perfectly by the burnished curls of her hair. The golden transformation had spread over her face, covering her features, running through her hair. Strands and curls merged together, fusing together into smooth, decorative curves. Mischa imagined they were like the filigree on some fancy art gallery’s frame. Evie watched Mischa change, losing the parts of her that didn’t really matter for a door knocker, the rest of her sculpted into a work of art. Shrinking down, settling properly into the Emporium's door. While a person-sized door knocker sounds like a fun idea, she was glad Mischa was shrinking down to a more appropriate size.
“Oh, wow,” Mischa repeated, a little stunned by the changes. She could feel her new body acutely, all her senses concentrated in her smaller form. The light of the sun warming her body, the cool air playing across golden skin, the texture of the door behind her. The sense of the wide world around her. The features and details of her upper body froze into place, truly becoming one with the door. It firmly stuck to her back, each knot and grain felt in her metal body. She could feel that she was a part of the Emporium now. Its stonework and timbers, its ancient magic filling her. A sense of purpose tickling at the back of her mind. A new duty to greet its customers and guard the place from anyone who might try to rob it. (If the resident sphinx wasn’t enough of a deterrent…)
“This feels… pretty amazing,” Mischa was grateful she could still move her head, her golden eyes looking around at the forest clearing. The world seemed so much bigger, now… was she really that small? Mischa might have been stuck in one place, but it was a fantastic view, and definitely better than being stuck inside a pocket. Besides, the Emporium had that unusual habit of being in multiple places at once. “Though I feel like something is missing,” Mischa added with a wink.
“Something like this?” With a flourish, Evie conjured a ring from somewhere. It shone in the same gold as Mischa’s body, about as wide as half her new height, a solid ball set into it. “Ready? Just open wide—”
Mischa nodded, opening her mouth eagerly, letting Evie carefully set the knocker at the back of her teeth. She bit down, feeling it filling her mouth, dominating so much of her senses. Evie let go, and it swung down, the weight abruptly tugging down at her mouth. A moment later, and the weight of it slammed against her breasts, sending a cascade of sensations through her body. She bit down hard, a goofy grin on her face as her golden skin blushed a deep red of pleasure and embarrassment. The knocker bounced back up, dropping again, clattering with waves of smaller sensations before it settled into place.
“How does that feel? Good?” Evie asked, though she already knew the answer.
“Yeah, tha—” Mischa started to reply, pausing as she realised she’d just dropped the ring from her mouth, letting it slide down her chest before tumbling to the ground, “Oh, sorry.”
“It’s okay,” Evie teased, reading down to pick the ring back up, “let’s just…” Evie set the ring into place in Mischa’s mouth again, before brushing a paw across her cheek. Mischa felt a flash of heat before her mouth solidified into place, freezing her expression into a grin, perfectly set around the knocker. “There! Now you’ll never drop it again.”
Mischa, somehow, blushed even redder. She was used to not speaking — she’d spent five years as a keychain, after all — but there was something strangely playful in the way Evie had deliberately taken that ability away. Mischa looked down at herself, the ring glinting in sunlight as it rested on her body, then back up to Evie… smiling all the while.
“You okay like this?” Evie asked, pausing her playfulness for a moment. While she did so enjoy teasing people, she was always careful it never went too far. Mischa just nodded in reply, still blushing, the ring rattling against her chest. The mischievous smirk returned to Evie’s face, the werewolf stepping closer, gazing down at Mischa’s golden form.
“I’m glad, little door knocker.” A paw reached out, brushing ever-so-gently against one of Mischa’s breasts, so confident it was going to be causing an explosion of emotions in Misha’s mind. “Now, I’ve got a few errands to run. I’ll check in on you later, so don’t go anywhere…”
