Evie hummed to herself, corking the last of the potion bottles, setting it down on the workbench. The wood groaned a little under the weight of hundreds of bottles, each filled with a different shade of viscous liquid, glowing faintly, sending a dizzying rainbow pattern up the stone wall. Sighing slightly, Evie leant back against the black cauldron behind her, still faintly warm from brewing all day. Brewing so many potions at once was always satisfying - at least, to a witch like Evie - but she never enjoyed clearing the remaining goop from the cauldron. Something to worry about tomorrow, she thought.

“Hey, what’s back here?” a voice behind Evie startled her from her thoughts, spinning around to see a young woman sticking her head around the door, the interloper’s eyes lighting up at the sight of all the potions and magical paraphernalia. Sara had stumbled on Evie’s shop quite by accident, her curiosity growing as she’d explored the shelves of ancient tomes and magic potions until she’d found the open door of Evie’s workshop.

“Wait, you can’t be be-” Evie started to protest, already too late to stop Sara from reaching the cauldron, peering deep inside.

“Is this where you make the potions?” Sara called out from inside the cauldron, her voice echoing, far too curious to pay any attention to Evie.

“Yes, but please, you really shouldn’t be… sticking your arm in it,” Evie sighed, watching as Sara pulled a hand out, dripping with luminous green potion residue.

“Woah, it tingles…” Sara spun her hand around, watching the goo slide from finger to finger, coating her skin, “what does it do?”

“Properly attuned? Change whoever drinks it into something else,” Evie replied, realising it was too late to stop the potion’s magic now…

“And if it’s… not attuned?” Sara finally turned to look at the witch, oblivious to the magic already worker on her body, her skin and the potion merging together.

“Well, it just makes… more of itself.”

“Huh? How does it make-” Sara paused. Looking down at her hand, she could see light shining through it, the impossible sight of translucent flesh under the glittering sheen of the potion. She could feel it sliding down over her arms, the pleasant tingling sensation spreading with it, a deep warmth as the magic worked its way deep into her flesh. Shifting her arm this way and that, she could see her skin fading, becoming clear. The changes revealed the muscles and bones in her arm changing with the rest of her, shifting into glittering motes of light swirling around inside her melting flesh. Despite how strange and unnatural it looked, the sensation of the change was almost pleasant, a feeling of deep relaxation, carrying aches and worries away.

“Oh, like that,” Sara replied, voice quiet as her mind ran through several stages of disbelief at once, unable to deny the magic that was still changing her body. Flexing her changing hand, she was relieved to see her fingers could still move, albeit strangely. They curved smoothly, almost impossibly flexible now muscle and bone had changed to liquid, her fluid skin, sticking and stretching out as her fingers brushed against each other.

“Are you alright? How do you feel?” Evie’s voice was a mix of curiosity and concern. It wasn’t every day one of her customers was exposed to such raw magic. She peered closer, watching the changes spread faster up Sara’s arm, the changes outpacing the potion itself as it trickled off her arm, splashing into the cauldron. With more of her transformed, her blood was charged with the magic of the potion, carrying it through the rest of her body.

“Okay, I think, it’s… kinda nice,” Sara felt the tingling spread through her body, a deep warmth filling her, that same feeling of relaxation growing stronger. Across her body, veins turned a deep green. Faint at first, they gradually became more visible as her potion-infused blood flowed through them. Spreading the change outwards, the green colour flowed outwards, running across her skin like spilt ink. She noticed it first in her other arm, turning clear and flexible, trying to get used to the more fluid movements of her changing body.

Ripples of fluid flowed over her skin, trickling down. Her mind spun a little, trying to make sense of the feeling of her own body sliding over itself, the flowing fluid as much a part of her as the semi-solid slime forming her arms. Following a line down, she caught a glimpse of her chest, now gleaming green like her arms, glittering motes of light drifting about inside her, the remains of her transforming organs. Even her clothes seemed to be changing, soaking through with her liquid skin, the subtle sensations of herself flowing through the fibres of the fabric. For a moment, it felt tight across her body, her semi-fluid self pushing out against her clothes. A moment later, and she felt a shuddering relief as they began to stretch out with the rest of her, the magic of the potion transforming them to match her body.

Sara’s legs started to change underneath her, mingling with her gooey jeans, slumping slightly under the weight of her gelatinous body. Reaching to catch herself against the cauldron, she could feel her slime fingers press into the rough surface of the cauldron. The more her legs changed, the more she leant against it, feeling the curve of the cauldron press against her body, flattening and deforming against it, her breasts pressed upward. Looking down, she could just about see her face reflected in the pooled potion. Her blonde hair hung down past her face, mixing with her slime skin. Trickles of fluid pulled her hair together, individual strands lost amidst the slime, changing into blobs the rough shape of her hair, framing her changing face. Peering into the potion, she saw her face changing too, features softening as slime replaced what was left of her skin, her vision tinged with green as her eyes were replaced with gleaming spots of light.

“Woah, this is weird…” Sara spoke, without breath, her gooey skin rippling slightly with the words, “how am I still talking?” Trying to get a better look at her changed mouth, she leant deeper into the cauldron, a tightness growing across her torso as her body started to stretch out.

“Careful, I think you’re going to,” Evie was too late to stop Sara from tipping forward, her arms and chest falling after her face, waist stretching out before her legs were pulled up after her, tumbling into the cauldron, “-slip.”

For a moment, Sara was weightless, her fluid body rippling with the air rushing past her. Her face crashed into the cauldron, splashing into the potion, mixing with it as her face flowed up around the inside of the cauldron. Her arms and chest impacted together, flattening and mixing together, soon joined by her legs flowing into her. Her clothes scattered amongst her, tumbling around inside her body. A fraction of a second later and her face was pulled back into the rest of her. For a moment the force of the impact propelled her face up into the air, giving her a distorted vision of the room around her - and Evie’s shocked face - before it crashed back again.

The sensations stunned Sara, the rush of alien feelings, her body churning with the impact, slowly settling against the still-warm metal of the cauldron, ripples and shockwaves crashing back and forth through her body.

“Are you okay?” Evie’s voice seemed faint and distant to Sara, the witch’s face distorted by ripples as Sara tried to pull herself back together, acting on some strange instinct.

“I think so…” the cauldron bubbled back, the vague form of her face slowly forming on the surface, “that was… wild”. A few churns more, and the slimy form of Sara rose up in the rough shape of a torso, gelatinous breasts framed by what had once been her t-shirt.

Evie huffed, rolling her eyes, relieved at least that Sara was fine, “I’m glad you like it because you might as well get comfortable…”

“What? Aren’t you going to change me back?” Sara protested, bubbles forming in her body in an echo of her emotions.

“You should have thought of that before you stuck your hand into a viscous material,” Evie huffed again, staring back into the slimy form of Sara, who had begun to pull herself out of the potion, crude arms forming.

“Don’t worry, we can change you back, but it’s going to take a little while before this much magic wears off, and I can’t have you infecting anyone else… Hey, Sophia?” Evie turned to the door, calling out to her fellow witch, “can you give me a hand with the cauldron’s lid?”

“Wait… lid?” Sara called out, “what do you mean, ‘lid’?!”
