“So here it is…” Crystal flitted from branch to branch, the diminutive fairy looking out across the forest clearing. Most people would have just seen a quaint building of stone and timber, overgrown with ivy, the warm light from inside suggesting a cosy interior. Fortunately for Crystal, she could see past the warding spells made to hide the magic shop from anyone trekking through the woods. She’d heard the stories for a while: the Rosewood Emporium, appearing to those who needed it in the strangest of places, its true location hidden in some dense forest. Curiosity had brought her here to see what sorts of witches and wonders laid within.

Leaping off the branch, Crystal flew across the clearing, landing silently on the roof before scrambling up to a half-open window. Peering through, she could see the show below, lit by dozens of lamps hanging from thick rafters. Slipping inside, she looked with amazement at the shelves below: some stacked high with books, others bent under the weight of strange gleaming artefacts, others lined with potion bottles of every size and colour.

Dancing from beam to beam, she ventured further into the store, weaving past the occasional potion bottle or scrap of parchment left abandoned on the rafters. Towards the back of the store, she could make out two witches talking, only their pointed hats visible from her high angle. She started creeping closer, trying to make out what they were saying until a wall of glass slammed down around her.

“Hello, little one…” a voice purred, echoing through the glass bottle Crystal had been trapped in.

Crystal slowly turning around, looking at the walls of the bottle she was caught in. She followed the sight of a furred paw, clamped firmly on top of the bottle, to a feline face staring down at her. It was warped slightly from the shape of the glass, but there was no mistaking the mischievous smile of the sphinx, or the sharp teeth behind it.

“Sorry, I was just having a look around,” Crystal replied, voice echoing around her.

“Normally, I’m the one sneaking around on the rafters,” Phoibe purred, peering down at the fairy. She seemed to be as furry and feline as the sphinx was, though definitely a lot pinker. “It’s my job to keep a lookout for… interlopers.”

“I’ve heard so many stories of this place, I was dying to see it inside, maybe meet the witches,” Crystal pleaded, pressing her hands against the glass, still slick with what remained of a potion, “I don’t mean any harm…”

“Hmm….” Phoibe feigned thinking it over, a mischievous grin spreading across her face, “if you promise not to fly away.”

       “I promise!” Crystal replied, instantly.

“I only say that,” the sphinx slowly raised the bottle, peering inside, “as I’ve no idea what this potion was. Not a lot left, but then again, you are very small.”

Crystal’s eyes grew wide, looking down at her hands, the clear potion matting her fur, slowly trickling down her arms. She could feel it seeping into her, her skin starting to tingle beneath it, an odd tugging or stretching feeling running through her fingers.

“What… what’s it doing to me?” Crystal tried desperately to shake it off her hands, only succeeding in spreading it further up her arms, her skin making a strange squeaking sound as her fingers rubbed together.

“I’m not really sure,” the sphinx purred, rolling over on the wide rafter, keeping a close eye on the transforming fairy, “I like to remove the labels, makes it more fun when I drop them on people.”

“You did this to me on purpose!?” Crystal cried, almost leaping up in indignation.

“Maybe,” the sphinx purred again, clearly delighting in teasing Crystal.

Crystal stared back down at her hands, too curious about what was happening to her body to stay angry at the sphinx. She watched as the potion continued to spread up her arms; that tugging, tightening feeling following along after. Her hands started to shine, the perfectly smooth skin reflecting the lamp-light around her. Bit by bit, she could see her fingers swelling, pressing into each other, seams and creases tracing their way over her hands. All the while, the sensation of pressure inside them grew. Tentatively, she pressed her hands together, feeling her skin stretching and deforming, the hollow sensation of air inside her pressing back.

“I’m inflating?!” Crystal yelped, feeling her voice carrying through her body, the vibrations in her stretched skin.

“Looks like it,” Phoibe shifted, leaning closer, staring at the seams slowly spreading up Crystal’s transforming arms, “I’d guess… a pool toy?”

“A pool toy?!” Crystal yelped again, staring at the gleaming plastic skin that was creeping up her arms, feeling it spreading over her shoulders. Her voice caught in her throat, pressure building in her torso as the change intensified. Her clothes grew tight against her changing torso, her chest rising up like beachballs spilling over the top of her dress. “I can’t be a pool toy!”

       “Maybe it’s a small pool?”

Crystal shivered, the feelings inside her intensifying. Each small movement she made sent pleasurable vibrations through her body, her thighs squeaking together as she stepped back. She could feel the air within, pressing out against her skin as it turned to plastic, pressing her insides into nothing. Relieved she could at least still move, she ran her fingers across the seams running down over her chest, tracing a line to her nipples. She could feel them growing hard and solid under her dress, pushing out against her dress, the unmistakable shape of a pool toy’s nozzles.

“I wouldn’t play with those if I were you, not if you don’t want to deflate.”

“Deflate?” Crystal’s voice grew higher and faint. She let go quickly, her increasingly light body bobbing about slightly, feeling the changes progress down her torso as another nozzle pushed its way out of her belly, hips pressing wide against the fabric of her dress. Her thighs swelled into each other, her plastic skin crumpling between them, the squeaking sound growing louder.

Looking down, Crystal watched as the seams spread in neat rows down either side of her legs, her feet rapidly expanding into wide paws. She could feel the undersides growing thick and stiff, keeping them firm and flat, helping keep her otherwise lightweight body stable on the wooden beam. Hearing a creak and grown behind her, Crystal reached back to her tail, feeling fur being replaced with smooth plastic, static arcing between the two. As the seams ran along its length, it stretched out behind her, the now-familiar sensation of something firm and hard pushing out of the end as another nozzle formed.

“Mmm, you’re coming along nicely. Even cuter than before,” Phoibe purred, clearly enjoying what she was seeing.

The wave of sensations started spreading upwards once more, creeping along her back, her shimmering wings gleaming as plastic raced across the surface. A moment later, and air started to push its way into them, the formerly flat wings ballooning out behind her, the sudden rush of air almost tipping her back.

“My wings,” Crystal tried to say, finding her lips sticking together, barely any sound escaping. Reaching up with rubbery hands, she rubbed them across her face, tugging at increasingly stretchy skin. She could feel what was left of her lips smoothing out across her face, air smoothing them out from behind. Glancing over at the glass bottle, she could see her face in the reflection, her mouth now just a printed design across her smooth face. The design spread upwards as more air filled her head, the scent of rubbery plastic growing stronger as her nose pressed flat against her skin as her muzzle pushed out. Her vision shifted as her eyes transformed, her view growing wider as the flattened out into cartoonish proportions. Finally, the gleaming plastic ran smoothly over her hair, drawing individual curls together into bold shapes, her ears standing proud between them.

“It’s… I’m… a pool toy…” Crystal spoke, feeling her whole body vibrating with the words. Still gazing at her reflection, she could see her printed mouth moving with the words, cartoon eyes shifting about as she took her new body in. She stepped closer, every movement sending squeaks and shivers through her body, the feeling strangely pleasurable despite her weird it all felt. Turning this way in that, she looked over her new body, every inch of her plastic and inflated. Her eyes traced the seams looping over her shoulders down to her wings, now sticking out proud from her back, the same seams running over the edge of them.

“Can I even fly?” Crystal wondered aloud, carefully testing her wings, moving them back and forth. Her whole body seemed to move with them, skin flexing and tensing, hearing faint squeaks from behind her.

“There’s one way to find out…” Phoibe replied, batting Crystal with a paw.

Crystal felt the impact through her whole body, shockwaves of pressure cascading back and forth inside her as she hurtled off the beam. The world spun around her, a dizzying sight of lights all around her as she tumbled through the air. Instinctively, she tried to catch herself, stop herself from spinning, the world slowly settling into place around her. Gasping in delight, she felt her whole body bobbing gently in the air, so light only a little bit of magic let her drift around, her wings shimmering behind her.

“Nice save, twinkle-toes,” Phoibe purred, stretching out as she lifted herself from the beam, oblivious to the shimmering potion bottle rising over her head, the cork slowly being removed, “nice to see you’ve still got a little fairy magic.”

“Thanks,” Crystal replied, smiling innocently, her eyes fixed on the potion bottle, “but that’s not the only magic I have…”
