Jenny pulled the door fully open, as her eyes adjusted to the bright light, her jaw dropped in disbelief. She was not expecting to see something like this in a house this old, she knew her grandmother was a smart lady, but she certainly wasn’t expecting what was now in front of her.
Jenny marvelled at the contents of the room, it looked like something out of a Sci-Fi movie. There was a large computer desk, a couple of huge glass tubes, capable of holding something as big as a human, and two metal chair like devices. There were neatly organised cables that seemed to connect everything together. Jenny wondered, what on earth this room was used for? She looked over the computer desk to see if she could find some kind of clue, as to how this all worked? Looking over the buttons, she noticed a clearly labelled button, with on/off on it. Jenny’s curiosity got the better of her and she decided to press it.
With a slight hovering of her finger, she closed her eyes as she pressed the button. Jenny slowly opened her eyes, thinking the worse, but nothing bad happened, just the computer started to turn on and load up. Jenny gave it a minute to load up and then looked at the screen, with her eyes widening in pure shock and disbelief.
As the loading screen flickered through its start up, she noticed a few words pop up and then disappear as another part of the program loaded. Giving her a small snippet of vague information...
Once the computer had finally loaded, Jenny decided to see if there was any information on the computer left from her grandmother, that might explain exactly what this room was and what the devices in the room were all about.
After about 5 minutes of searching on the computer, Jenny found a folder named ‘For Jenny’ which she opened immediately. In the folder there were a bunch of video files, Jenny clicked the first video, all of a sudden a younger version of Jenny’s grandmother popped up on the screen and started talking. “HI Jenny, if you watching this... Well I guess I’m not around anymore... And congratulations on finding my secret room. I’m sure you have a whole host of questions, which hopefully they will all be answered in due time. But first, you have to promise me that you won’t tell anyone about this room, the technology inside these four walls is somewhat controversial and ground breaking. And for god’s sake! Keep the key to the room well hidden!... Anyway, now that's out of the way, if you liked to click on the next video, we can begin you orientation of how this room works and all of it’s capabilities underway”.
Jenny looked at the other video files in the folder on the screen, there were quite a few, she would certainly need a good bit of time, to go through them, and Lex was due back home any time. So Jenny turned off the machine and made her way out of the room, making sure to lock the door behind her. Jenny’s mind was all over the place, with what she had found today, as she walked up the stairs back to the main part of the house, putting the key in her pocket. She wondered if she should tell Lex about the secret basement room, but decided it would be better to wait until she had watched all of the videos from her grand mother first. Then she would be able to tell Lex exactly what the room was all about and what it could do.
With that she grab a bottle of wine and a glass, she certainly needed something a bit stronger to drink after everything.
