Yep so the every other day thing didn't work out as well as planned. I totally forgot to post anything yesterday, but as compensation here's a doubly-long one. When I started this I planned on writing very short stories, less than 1000 words, but this one didn't work out that way. It ended up about 1700, but I doubt I'll hear anyone complaining. One of the things I think I actually could have done better is take the story a little slower. Some of the parts feel a little rushed, and could use more description. Unfortunately I doubt I would have finished it if I had done so.
I have toyed with the game show thing for a while, but it's so formulaic that I never got anything done. It has a similar problem to board game tfs, you can either make a good game that would actually be fun to play, or a good story that is interesting to read. I'm hoping that this strikes a balance between the two. Admittedly it's a little easier with game shows than card/board games. Most card/board game-tfs are just draw card/roll dice, thing on card/dice happens, and that's it. That's the game. I should probably save this rant for later, like when I post a story actually centered around a card game.
