Maplevale Mansion is Lilly's home away from home. While she enjoys the privacy of her forest home of Topaz Tower, she found she needs to maintain relationships with various people and groups in order to feed her expensive hobbies. To that end, she had to spend a good deal of time at the closest coastal port city of Starcoast. It was easier to maintain a residence there than stay at an inn for several days at a time, given she wished to establish herself as a Mistress and run a few businesses, entrusting the day to day business to a handful of her slaves. They all live at Maplevale Mansion.
While the city is relatively safe, with the city's own standing army to protect it, Lilly felt her second home needed its own protection. It had its fare share of valuables and is technically a consulate. Besides, she loves to invent.
The latex guard are a highly skilled group of martial artists. They wear enchanted catsuits made from Havas latex that enhance their strength and agility. They wear damocles raiments in the form of jackets to take blows for them. However, they will take damage in their place and holes will open up after a while. Their masks not only protect them from gases but also provide them with tactical information.
Their standard weapons are a set of enchanted tonfas, enchanted by the wellspring of transformation. They will unravel themselves into ribbon to either bind a target or take on the form of another weapon, such as a staff, bokken, or whip. They normally carry four, with the second pair acting as back up after binding a target.
Hidden in the mansion is a support well, which supplies the guards with mana remotely to maintain the enchantments on their uniforms, as well as repair the damocles raiments. However, it is only able to do so while they are in and around the grounds, getting weaker as they move farther away. As such, the guards normally only protect the consulate grounds, which is under Lilly's dominion anyway.
