Katia Vinogradov was born with an innate power, but it did not surface until she was five. Her dreams could manifest themselves, but only while she was asleep. It was a rare power, but untimely no one could figure out a use for it as she had no real control over it. Everything it created would vanish as soon as she awoke.

The Vinogradovs were farmers. Like with the rest of her siblings, she worked the fields from a young age. However, an accident caused her feet to be crushed under a wagon wheel. The injury was too severe for the local healer to fix and they were forced to amputate. She was then forced to spend the rest of her childhood in a chair or limping around on crutches. Sometimes, her older siblings would carry her on their backs.

Katia tried to make the best of her situation. She learned crafts that didn't require her to stand, such as sewing or playing the flute. Still, she missed the freedom of movement. She would often gaze up at the sky and watch the birds, envious of their gift of flight.

This affected her power. At night, she would float in the air. This would cause issue at times, as she would occasionally float away. When taking a nap outside her house, she could find herself in the field.

Katia spent her whole life in her hometown, never traveling as far back as she could remember, with the exception of however far her dreams took her. That was until Lilly's scouts found her. When her power was discovered, an invitation was sent to her, with the promise of new feet should she enter her service. While they didn't like to admit it, Katia knew she was a burden on her family. She accepted Lilly's collar and was taken to Topaz Tower.

There, Katia was given a pair of prosthetic feet. They worked much better then the peg legs she had to rely on before. They even moved by her will. She was then trained with the staff and spear while learning to master her new limbs.

It was there she met Kalena, a woman with powers remarkably similar to her own. Things had been different for her, being forced to travel rather than being trapped at home. She had come there to learn to control her powers, something she helped Katia learn as well.

In time, Katia learned the real reason she was invited to the Topaz Tower. The Kalena she knew was a manifestation herself, one of several brought to life by the real Kalena. This was something Katia found she was capable of as well. Once she got the hang of it, Lilly moved her to the next stage. She was placed inside of a crystal and put into a deep slumber. She no longer aged or required food, but she could still dream. Before long, she broke free of her mortal body, manifesting herself in much the same way Kalena could. However, things were different. She was told that Kalena was only missing some blemishes, but Katia was whole, more than whole. Her feet were back, now with toes, something she had almost forgotten about. Whats more, a pair of translucent wings protruded from her back. It was a dream come true, literally.

Katia mastered flight rather quickly. She had been flying for years in her sleep and because of how her powers worked, it wasn't very different. More Katias sprung to life from original and in time, her numbers rivaled that of Kalena. Also like Kalena, the personalities of most of the clones were dulled, although they couldn't help but smile while in flight. A few of the clones had more active wills and would act as the true Katia.

Kalena used a magic spear and Katia was given something similar. The idea was to give her more reach when attacking opponents from the air. It was also able to shoot lightning for a ranged attack. Like with Kalena, she could summon it at will.

She was grateful to Lilly for making her whole once again, never before realizing how much she was missing. To her, the wings had always been a missing part of her. She became her loyal solider, fighting battles in the skies. Still, she missed her family. Kalena wouldn't talk about hers but Katia loved her supportive family. She couldn't neglect her duty to her mistress but she soon found she didn't have to. After learning how to replace her uniform with casual clothes, she sent one of her dynamic clones back to her hometown. Needless to say, her family was quite shocked to see her back on her feet, not to mention the angel-like wings she now wore. They welcomed her back with open arms and part of her would always watch over them.

A sequel to The Eternal Dreamer picture I did in May. Before commissioning it, I got the idea to have multiple people with the same dream power, although rare, and Lilly would start to collect them. However, not all of them would work for her, as once someone does something successful, others would try and repeat. The thought crossed some other people to make an army of dream clones once they figured out what Lilly had done. I will be coming up with backstories for each of them and I have ideas for different clones with different weapons and roles, but I have yet to name the others.

I reused the uniform from Kalena, which was based on an outfit from DAZ so :iconcaptainharlock-42: could use them in the comic. Although, I have no idea if he has anything that could mimic the wings. Randomly I made her a redhead. Winged catgirls do exist in Trivium, so I wanted to make her a catgirl originally.
