The necromancer Juana Underwood has more or less finished her training. Now, she sets out to unite the region under her rule as queen. She begins her mission by claiming a castle for herself. However, this will not be simple, and much work must be done to make it suitable for her.

She is joined by her maid Ness, who serves her will to the letter.



I've been thinking about this story for a while now, but I've finally gotten around to writing it. It's in Trivium, but takes place roughly 30 years before the events of A Slave to the Omnisuit and many of my other stories. The setting is outside of Starcoast, and even the country that Starcoast is in.

Themes include slavery, conquest, and petrification.

Having more or less completed her apprenticeship, Juana set off to make a name for herself, leaving the ancient woods of her birth. She scavenged battlefields and built an army of skeletons to do her bidding.

When she was 18, she went out in the woods to collect wild herbs. It was there that she ran into the Necromancer Juana Underwood as she was savaging old battlefields. Partly to keep her quiet, Juana grabbed her, placing a magic collar around her neck which subjugated Ness to her will.
Ness was then forced to be Juana's maid, wearing an old uniform Juana had picked up somewhere. Unable to remove the collar or fight back, she lived with her in a cave where she was stockpiling bones and weapons. There, she was made to keep the cave relati
