Roxy finished putting on her Jane of the Jungle costume, giving herself the once over in the mirror with a grin.
"I'm sure to get lucky tonight."
She walked out her front door and headed down the street. She was attending a Halloween party tonight and she was sure to turn a few heads. It wasn't far, so she went on foot.
Most of the houses had their Halloween decorations out. Cutout ghosts, fake cobwebs, and of course, Jack-o'-lanterns.
Roxy noticed one house had a bowl of candy next to its lantern. Below it was a sign that read 'Take One.'
"Oh, how quaint." She giggled as she walked over. The bowl had plenty of candy left somehow. "Don't mind if I do." She reached in a grabbed a handful. She had quite the sweet tooth. "Too bad I left my bag at home." She tossed the pieces into the air. She thought to herself "I should be able to eat all of these by the time I get to the party."
But then, a strange feeling suddenly rippled through her body. She tried to move, but her feet seemed to be glued to the floor. She opened her mouth to scream, but no sound came out. Instead, a blue mist, or something like it, took its place.
Or rather, she felt herself leave her body somehow. Slowly she became stiff, her body turning to stone as she lost feeling in her legs.
She was drawn to the Jack-o'-lantern, sliding into its mouth, while her body became a bizarre decoration.
There she was, trapped inside the gourd, her body on display, until someone lets her out.
Looks like she won't be making that party after all.
A quick project I did on a whim. Somehow the idea popped into my head to have a Jack-o'-lantern trap a woman's soul. Part of this was to give Dvega more work this month.
