I though I would do a bit of an infodump on my fantasy world of Trivium. I have made certain rules and background for it. However, they are incomplete and I will likely add to or modify them in the future. I may also make additional posts and dive deeper into certain aspects of the world, such as the types of magic users or the wellsprings.

This started out as a roleplay on another site between me and another user. I wanted to try playing as a female character for once. Back then, it was just a sorceress in her tower and the succubus she summoned to play with.

Over time, that shifted as my partner changed and they started bringing in their own established characters. I started making more characters to fill the roles as the setting grew. I originally wanted a medieval sword and sorcery setting, but didn't make that clear, and a more modern setting was introduced while visiting some of her characters' hometown. I used the Xanth novels as inspiration to explain the different time periods. At least, what I remember from Centaur Aisle.

The world itself grew as well, expanding beyond the tower and the local village. I got the idea to write stories here on Deviant Art and invented Starcoast City as a setting for some of them and as a place to visit in the role play. I named the world Trivium after the Latin word for crossroads, referring to it's connection to the other worlds.

Overall, the world was inspired by a mix of the Xanth novels, Gate: Thus the Japanese Self-Defense Force Fought There!, and even from the web comic Collar6, as well as a few other smaller things. I took Gate's logic of why there are so many sentient races in the world, migrating from a host of other worlds, but also took Xanth's power to be everywhere across time and space and to a lesser extent, cross breeding between the races to make new ones. It got a bit kinky in there with natural love potions.

Trivium is also a mix of my different interests, which I have a number of. I'm big into bondage and kinky slavery. I enjoy latex to a lesser extent, but it's also a big part of my roleplay partner's fetish. Petrification is more of a recent thing, but reading stories about it here on DeviantArt is part of why I got back into writing. I am also into mixing magic and technology. I'm a big fan of robots, so you can expect to see them sooner or later, although they might just be called golems in this world.
