Description:       Kanakpriya, or Kana as she goes by, was born in in a small mud farming village. There, her parents worked as tailors. It was a humble life, but it was theirs.

Kana would explore the woods not far from the village. One day, she found a golden chalice covered in moss. She didn't know where it came from, but she thought she could sell it. So she took it home to clean and polish it. While doing so, she became fascinated by how it reflected light. She told herself she would just keep it to herself while looking for a buyer, but she ended up hiding it away, staring endlessly at it whenever she had time to herself.

In time, she expanded her collection. It mostly consisted of jewelry, as her options were limited in her hometown, but there were a few larger pieces among them. Still, her collection was quite small, and in time she coveted more. Given the size of her purse she often had to get creative with how she acquired them.

She saved up her money, including gold coins, and when it was time to leave, she pawned off everything of value from her family that wasn't too heavy to move. This included tricking her little sister into accompanying her to a nearby fishing town and selling her to a slave merchant. She then took her stash and fled before anyone knew what happened.

While she worked as an adventurer from time to time, she wasn't up for risking her life for little reward. Instead, she honed her skills as a thief, picking pockets and breaking in under the cover of night. In both cases, she would sometimes pair up with a partner or two. However, she would more often than not double-cross them, taking all the reward for herself, unless it was too risky to do so. Often, those she's worked with or offered to help end up as statues in someone's collection.

This was also how she acquired a hideout. She had charmed a young mage into helping her dig out part of a cave and hiding the entrance behind a magic door, only to turn her to gold once the job was done. She couldn't risk selling her, should her location come out, and more to the point, she couldn't bring herself to sell such a lovely golden figure. Instead, she left her to watch over her growing stash of gold.

Kana hates parting with money when she doesn't have to, particularly gold. Over time, she had to learn when it was better simply to pay her dues. Her love of gold has gotten herself into trouble on more than one occasion. Cursed treasures and binding bracelets have been the bane of her existence. She has ended up in some tight spots and had even spent some time in jail. Still, she always manages to escape sooner or later.
