General description

An artificial sub-species of mimics. They were originally created by modifying mimics with petrification magic. They turned into living stone and developed the power to petrify others.

Like with regular mimics they will go dormant as they wait for their pray to arrive. Once triggered they will suck up their victim into their mouth, swallowing them whole. Once inside the pocket dimension the stone mimic will turn all living matter into stone, leaving non-living matter like clothes and weapons alone. Depending on the mimic they may even force the victim into a pose as they are petrified.

Unlike regular mimics stone mimics do not digest their victim. Rather they will simply absorb the stamina and mana of their petrified form. Should the statues be restored to their former state they will often be completely exhausted. If they are close enough sleeping stone mimics can also gather mana from leylines.

Most stone mimics are breed to be traps. As such they will often hold the statues inside until their master comes to collect them. However some stone mimics will spit out the statues once they have been drained.
