The air in the lab was charged with energy as Chaya jumped from project to project. She stopped in front of a robotic copy of her upper half, detached from a lower body and headless. She twisted the metal base it was attached to and made the chest face her.
"That's incredibly realistic." Chaya said with a gleaming smile. The excitement was palpable, and the technician grinned back.
"It's only the best of the best. All for you honey."
The two kissed, then locked each other in a tight, affectionate embrace.
"I've actually got something else for you." Vincent opened a metal cabinet that was attached to the metal table the robotic torso stood on top of. Reaching in, he wrapped his hands around the ankle of a dark-skinned detached foot that matched Chaya perfectly.
She gasped. It was slightly surreal to see the artificial representation of herself in scattered pieces, but the attitude towards them hid any trace of discomfort. As she took the disembodied limb from her boyfriend, she took mental note of the virtually identical skin texture and tiny imperfections. Not even the head, or second torso on their respective stands around the lab came close to such an artistic caliber. "Thank you. I can't wait to put together our new toy!"
