Though everyone around her could tell how much Lux had changed at a glance, only the mage herself knew the full extent of it. The woman’s usual attire was the most attention-grabbing one to anyone else, having changed with each element that she mastered. From the pure, white dress lined with gold trimmings to a sweltering outfit of orange and red that burned brighter than the light she wielded before, it seemed as though her attire changed just as the girl did.

But recently, she seemed to have settled on one in particular. Her purple hair was tied in a ponytail that hung off her right side, making room for the crown of midnight black crystals which seemed to entirely absorb any ray of light that came its way. The dress she wore seemed far more suggestive than any of the ones she’d worn before as well, cut an inch shorter at her thighs and chest from the already risque garment she’d had before. None dared to mention it to her face and were certain to not be caught looking at what it revealed. Even her heels were a core component in this game of inches she played with her outfit, taller than before to bolster the intimidation that her somber thematic emitted. The asymmetry of wearing only a single stocking, leaving her other thigh bare was the last of the significant features which made this new “version” of Lux so alluring to admire.

Much more had changed within the woman besides clothing, however. In younger days, it was rare to see the girl without a smile, but now one only seemed to grow upon her face when she was destroying whatever dared to stand in her way. Above all else, she emanated power, and she needed it. The change she’d undergone had not been random or sudden, it had been the result of a slow realization that crept in her head, something that she was forced to accept after she heard each report and story that seemed to spring up so often in her royal duties.

It did not make sense to the mage how a group of slavers could be so effective at their work, and yet so untouchable. There were countless anecdotes about them: citizens bitterly ranting to each other about how their friends and families disappeared overnight. A ransom note would appear at their doorstep a few days later, demanding a price that they could not afford even if they took out loans. Much of their resentment built up towards the nobility, who were sworn to protect them from people like this

Though they were not victimless either. Those families did not even receive ransoms, almost as though they were more interested in the people than the money that came with the work. A subtle suggestion that the possession of a person renowned across the city was worth more than gold. Or perhaps they were simply not interested in selling them back to their families. Even those who Lux thought would be more than capable of looking after themselves, like Fiora Laurent and the adept ranger Quinn were among the missing. No one had heard from them--or even about them, since. If something could be done about these people then it almost certainly would’ve been with the disappearances of those names. But every trail the royal guards and investigators followed went cold, further inspiring the sense of hopelessness that had begun to brew.

Though she used the element of dark, her motives were still just. Day after day of being entirely unable to do a thing while this crisis grew into a bigger issue had begun to weigh upon the mage. Both the king and her brother insisted--no, demanded that she stay within the safe confines of the castle until they handled it, not her. It irritated Lux to no end, to be forced to simply cower while those criminals had their run of the city, even the whole country! Demacia was a place of law and order, and though it did not mean much to Lux before, she understood the need for it perfectly now.

She was aware of the contradiction in her logic when she planned to defy a direct order from the king in the name of restoring order to the land. But she justified it as a necessity, a means to an end… something that she had to do. At the stroke of midnight on one particularly gloomy night, she peeked outside of her room, still fully dressed in her usual, purple attire. With her magic staff in hand, she began to create a barrier of pure darkness around her, enveloping her entirely in the shadows. It was a trick she'd learned as a result of mastering her new powers. The illusion merged perfectly with the dim halls of the castle, and she was able to avoid the gaze of patrolling guards entirely as she slipped past them towards the front exit.

Not even when she felt the brush of cool wind against her skin was she able to drop her shroud. She knew well that guards from atop the walls of the castle would be scouring the bridges from anyone approaching, and she had a feeling that they’d react just as aggressively if they saw some mysterious figure, too dark and hazy to make out, leaving the castle. Only when she was in the empty streets of the residential area could she release her spell.

Though she was not familiar with the streets of the regular folk, she had a feeling it wasn’t supposed to be this quiet. Not a person was within her sight as she stared down the other end of a long path, with only a few businesses daring to keep their doors unlocked. She could only hear a soft chatter as she snuck past a tavern, an eerie contrast compared to the rambunctious behavior she expected out of such a place.

The first-hand experience of a silent, scared Demacia only confirmed the necessity of Lux’s actions in her mind. She had to stop these fiends and help those who'd already been affected by them before the city could return to normalcy.

Of course, there were a few things Lux needed to do first before any of that could become a reality. And that's why Lux decided to catch the kidnappers in the act. She’d figure out exactly what to do from there: interfere, save the day… or perhaps follow them to their hide-out, and blow up the whole operation.

Which was exactly why she ran straight to the slums first. It was the least-guarded area even with the increase in patrols city-wide and thus had been the prime target for the slaver’s regular actions. Lux knew that her best chance of catching some of them red-handed was here.

She donned her shroud of darkness once more, not willing to take any risks with being spotted or worse: ambushed. The slight strain on her mana was worth it for the extra security, even if she’d much rather have that mana saved for a fight later should she get into one.

The invisible mage had lost track of time when she finally noticed something. An armored individual--recognizably a guard of the city--was laying limp against a wall in the corner of an alley. Though it was her first instinct to check the body and see if they were gravely injured, her eyes instead darted around the area, ears desperately searching for some sort of sound to give her any piece of information. She peered into every window that she could, pressing her ear up against the doors-

Sounds of a commotion entered Lux’s ear on the fifth door she checked. Something clattered against the floor, and she could hear a deep voice--maybe two, speaking. It was hard to tell if there was a muffled third or if that was just her imagination, but she stepped slightly to the side to check the window-

She almost jumped as a face stared straight back at her, eyes pierced straight through her own. Lux silently thanked her choice to cloak herself, before realizing that this man was just acting as a lookout. His gaze shifted between the two ends of the street, staring right through the mage’s invisible body to do so. They were obviously quite cautious in their work. Lux doubted they’d be so successful if they weren’t.

The sensation of being “watched” uneased Lux, so she stepped away from the window for a moment. She needed a chance to figure out what to do next as well. Though she’d clearly found a live kidnapping and wanted to help whoever was in distress… saving a single person wouldn’t help any of their past or future victims. Not without lengthy interrogation, something that she didn't exactly have time for tonight. Instead... they had to take her somewhere, right?

Lux stepped back a few inches, the clicking of her heels a reminder that she was only invisible, not inaudible, and she now stood as still as she could. The man had gotten up, inching closer towards the door as he gave the streets a couple last looks. The door squeaked open, and she watched as his head poked out, continuing his persistent watch. He pulled himself back in for only a moment, before multiple men burst out, two of which shared the burden of a large sack. They rushed forward, sprinting straight towards an alleyway with what was clearly their captive in tow. Lux pushed aside all of the doubtful emotions brewing inside her when faced with the decision she was now forced to make. She wasn’t oblivious enough to know what was in that sack, and even if she didn’t have an inkling of who it was, they had to be Demacian. Someone she was sworn to protect.

Stalking their every move was easier said than done, especially in heels. She’d been a bit preoccupied with other matters than her footwear for this mission, and it was just something that’d slipped her mind. Thankfully, the men didn’t travel nearly as fast while they were in the alleyways, but they took constant corners that forced Lux to maintain an almost dangerous distance to keep up with them. If they were listening for her footsteps, they may have finally noticed her, but thankfully their own heavy steps drowned her out in combination with their whispered chatter between each other.

They all soon came to the end of the maze-like alleys, peeking out once more before running towards another house. Lux kept up with them, wondering if they really were going to try and kidnap two people in one go-

The doorknob they twisted open was unlocked. For a moment, Lux wondered if someone would truly be so idiotic to leave their front door unsecured with all those rumors and incidents so publicly known. But the slavers didn’t seem concerned at all with who was inside. And it didn’t seem like there was anyone else here either… Was this their base of operations?

She watched from outside as they pulled the sack inside, the person struggling for whatever reason. She figured that they were likely knocked out. Lux considered her next move, tempted to sneak inside the house with her shroud of darkness still veiling her. But the clicking of her heels would surely alert them in some capacity, so once again, she simply stalked the outside of the house. The slavers finally shut the door behind them, certainly getting up to nothing good within the confines of the walls.

Lux waited… and waited… and for nearly fifteen minutes, nothing happened. No one else entered or exited the establishment, and movement within the house had come to a complete stop. The windows were blocked entirely, but she knew there should be some kind of sound within the house. Instead… nothing.

It took her a few minutes to decide to finally break down the door. She made sure no patrolling guards were on this street when she pointed her staff at the door, not wanting to be wrongfully accused… Well, she was breaking and entering, but they probably wouldn’t believe that she was doing it for a good reason. Lux let the mana swirl within the tip of her staff for a few seconds, building up in power until she released it, pointed, and focused at the left-most side of the door.

The door shot open, and Lux was already preparing another spell to fight whoever was inside. But no one was waiting at the front of the house, nor did she hear any sudden or instinctual movement reacting to her very audible entrance. She cautiously pushed the door aside as she entered, illusionary disguise flickering as she diverted her mana to more dangerous spells. It wasn’t needed though… as it really seemed there was no one in the house. Lux pushed the door behind her back closed within averting her eyes from what was in front of her, half-certain that someone would suddenly pop out of a corner or some other angle.

She began walking around the house, eyes staring through cobwebs and broken glass to find any sort of clue as to what was going on here. A few torches were still burnt, illuminating the place, but there was no sign that anyone would live here to be the one who lit them. It was only when she stumbled into a room, nestled away in the corner of the house did she find something:

A trapdoor, wide open and with a ladder leading directly down to the cellar. Almost hesitatingly, she stepped towards it, steadying her heels on the first rung of the rusty thing before carefully lowering herself down to the next. Her eyes constantly shifted over her shoulder, eyeing the bottom longingly until she could find solid footing on it. Barrels, bottles, and preserved goods of all kinds were scattered along the walls of this place-

But what caught Lux’s eye was the passageway. It was clearly dug out unprofessionally, and the casks that would normally cover it up were pushed away to allow for its use. She stepped towards it, only for her to be forced to rush a distance away.

She’d heard footsteps and voices. Quickly and quietly she diverted more mana to her shroud once more, enveloping herself in complete darkness just as the men entered the cellar from the hallway.

“Shame we’re stuck with these lowly peasants. Dirty and ugly, the lot of them!” A gruff voice spoke with disdain to his comrade.

“It’s less risky than those other jobs. Heard that Laurent bitch put up a hell of a fight when they grabbed her. Would rather take less money than the risk of losing a few fingers.” The other responded, walking back towards the ladder. Lux realized just how well she’d timed her entrance, but shook at the mention of Laurent. It was practically confirmed that they’d successfully kidnapped Fiora with her disappearance, but to hear it plainly stated as fact was… discomforting.

“Yeah, but not all of those royals are freakishly strong. If I got my hands on that Crownguard girl… gah, just thinking about her makes me wish I was put in the plans for her mission.”

Her mission?! Lux had to bring a gloved hand up to her mouth to hold in the sudden grunt of surprise that escaped her lips. T-They surely didn’t mean her… Luxanna Crownguard… but the mention of her surname was unmistakable.

The men continued with their casual chatter as Lux digested the situation. They had some plan for her, and she had no idea whether it was in the coming days or weeks or where it was supposed to happen. She wouldn’t be… they wouldn’t…

Her eyes turned back towards the hallway, left wide open. The men were probably going out to get another one. She should have enough time to safely sneak her way out of here and back to the castle… and then…

What would she do? She could reveal what she’d learned, but there would surely be questions as to how she came about this knowledge. That aside, the military would surely spend a few days preparing before even investigating this place themselves, and right now, Lux wasn’t confident that the slavers didn’t have a few… informants among the high-ranking officials. How else would they be able to execute a plan not just on Fiora, but eventually her? They’d surely retreat or move away the second they learned that the military was on their tails, and the slavers would still be at large with no progress made towards capturing them.

It was enough justification for Lux to begin walking down the hallway herself. Torches were sparsely placed along the walls, giving Lux a glimpse of the stone floor ahead of her. The ceiling was only a few feet above her head, and the wooden support beams were the only comfort that Lux had that the hallway wouldn’t come down collapsing on top of her.

It concerned Lux just how long these hallways were. And how they sprawled in every direction, hinting at just how thorough this whole operation was. It had to be massive… and that was all the more reason why she needed to deal with it now. She still had to walk a long distance along these barren pathways, but she noticed how the walls, floor, and ceiling were built out of much sturdier stone in this area. Fewer cracks… more maintained… that had to mean something. Only a short while further along this path and she finally came along something interesting.

A door. She brought her hand to the knob, and the simple test of turning it revealed it was locked. That wasn’t a big problem for the mage, though. She took a deep breath, preparing herself for a battle if there happened to be slavers behind it, before touching her staff to the door and releasing a burst of dark energy.

She’d prepared herself for slavers... not slaves! Lined across the walls, numerous bodies were bound and wiggling, chained by an iron collar and leash attached to embedded hooks. Not a single source of light was present in the room, blinding those who didn’t have anything covering their eyes. It was only through the stray rays of light that snuck in through the open door was Lux able to see the state of those who laid within. Over a dozen were kept in this single room, each in various states of bondage that Lux assumed was simply what they were captured in. Ropes messily covered some of the damsels, while an assortment of tape stuck to the limbs of others. Chains, leather, and other materials that Lux had never seen before served as restraints for the rest.

Some of the eyes cautiously turned towards the door that’d been busted open, which immediately became confusing when they saw not a man but… nothing. Lux’s shroud still covered her, even as her heels clicked against the stone floor in approach.

She wasted no time in trying to untie their restraints. Lux began with some of the ropes on one of the women, being the easiest binding for her to take care of without magic. Untying knots wasn’t a specialty of hers, but she worked the ropes as best as she could. Her efforts of course required both hands, however, so she dropped her dark staff to the ground before working on the ropes.

Her sudden appearance of course startled many within the room, including whoever she was untying, and they thankfully didn’t make too much noise due to their gags. Though it would be much easier to simply blast away these damn ropes instead of untying them, doing that for everyone in the room would be a drain of mana she didn’t want to undergo. She’d still need to use her magic against the iron collars, and rationing it made the most sense to Lux.

The cost of that decision, however, was time. And Lux had much less of that than she expected. Her hands immediately left the ropes of the lady, returning to her staff as she heard approaching footsteps accompanying their voices. She strengthened her shroud around her once more as they entered, carefully peering into the room for a moment before stepping in.

“That’s strange,” one of them began, waving a torch around the cell. “There’s no one else in here, but the door was wide open…”

The other one of the two men who entered pushed the torch close to each of the ladies' bound bodies, wriggling away from the heat of the flame that drew close. Lux silently stepped away, forced to move farther away from the door as the man neared the woman she had been attempting to free.

“And this one’s got loose bindings! What’s going on here?!” He exclaimed, inspecting the one Lux had just been trying to save. His eyes shot around the room once more, when he finally noticed something strange.

Lux’s cloak of darkness was a spell that simply allowed her to blend in with the surrounding area convincingly. The more light that surrounds the shroud, however, the more distorted the barrier becomes. With the torch that the man held being pushed closer and closer to the cornered mage, it only grew more twisted and warped. His eyes stared directly at the strange sight for a few moments-

Only for a burst of energy to explode from it, knocking him back. The shroud dissipated entirely, revealing the mage beneath it. Knowing that her cover was finally blown, she’d chosen to use the opportunity to get out a surprise attack. He stumbled down towards the ground, and Lux let out another controlled blast to knock him down limp against the ground for good.

This wasn’t good. Her eyes turned to the door, expecting to have to deal with the other slaver, but he’d already run and turned tail. It took Lux a moment to realize that definitely wasn’t good. She rushed out of the room, only to see the man stepping away as he talked feverishly into some kind of device.

“--intruder! In Hallway E1-N, right by the Holding Room. And it’s not just anyone--it’s the Crownguard bitch! Luxann-”

A blast of energy finally sent the man flying back, aimed specifically at the device he’d been speaking into to destroy it. But the message was already sent. She looked behind her, at a hallway that would be empty for only so long, and began to run. If she could cast her cloaking spell again immediately, she could, but it would take more than a few minutes until it was ready again, and she didn't want to let herself be cornered in the meantime.

Even if Lux didn’t know where she was going, it seemed like the better option. Each hall in this monotonous underground place looked the same, and with the anxiety-induced adrenaline now pumping through her, it became harder to remember just which turns and twists she took. Did she turn left here, or right? She was only pretty sure that she’d taken a left, which meant she had to turn right here if she wanted to exit the way she’d come, but--

A single glance down that hallway, and she decided to run left instead. The fact that two slavers were running down her would-be escape route straight towards her made it a much less appealing path. She heard them talking into their radios as she tried desperately to outpace them, surely notifying more of them that they were on the Elementalist's trail. But that wouldn’t even matter, with how close their footsteps were. These men were certainly trained physically for their job, and they didn't have to deal with a damn set of heels! Of course, they were faster… dammit! Building up a little bit of mana in her staff, she suddenly planted her feet down into the ground and turned to face them with her staff extended.

“Fade!” She cried out, as she sent a large beam of darkness straight into their faces. That’d be enough to blast them away, and for good, but she had to take a few breaths before starting to run again. It was clear that she wouldn’t be able to do that every time she saw them. And that became ever more concerning each time she stared down one of the hallways in this maze and saw another one or two men hunting her down. Lux knew she couldn’t keep running forever, she just had to find some sort of exit… o-or..!

She let out a scream as two men suddenly appeared before her, having almost run straight into them with a right turn. Lux immediately turned back the direction she’d came from, saved only by the fact that they were just as startled as she was-

N-No… the others had already caught up to her! She was trapped in this hallway, with men closing in on her from either side and rapidly at that. The mage maybe had five meters of distance between her and the men she’d just run into, with maybe a little over twice between herself and the flanking ones. Lux, of course, targeted the ones who were closest to her with her final spark of magic, sending forward a hastened laser of energy that flickered even as she shot it out. Her body leaned over, barely able to keep itself up from the exertion. She stumbled forward over the men she’d just taken out, desperately trying to push herself forward. A sudden tug on her staff almost pulled her frail form back entirely.

“A-Ah! L-Let go, you..!” One of the men had already closed the distance in the narrow passage and yanked at the mage’s staff. Lux turned back and put her other hand on it, desperately trying to wrestle it back, but the man was simply stronger. She had no choice but to let it go in that moment, too exhausted to cast a spell and left with no other options than that. Lux turned herself back forward, staggering herself forward--

Straight into the waiting arms of another man. There’d been more men just around the corner, who’d only had the pleasure of seeing the lady’s laser of energy instead of getting eradicated by it. Such a sight served as the perfect signal for the intruder’s whereabouts as they found the drained mage hobbling away from the others, perfectly distracted by the others approaching her.

The set of arms wrenched themselves around Lux’s waist, practically holding the woman in a tight hug with her own arms caught in the pin as well. She began to shake her body in resistance, feeling the grip tighten around her as her struggles were easily ignored by the man who was easily stronger in physicality. Her eyes shot up towards the taller slaver as she began to kick her heels into his shins, a desperate act when she could think of no other way to resist.

“I-I said let go, you--you fiend!” Lux spat out, despite the both of them knowing that her words had no chance of convincing him. Even if by some miraculous measure, such simple words convinced a single slaver to change his entire worldview, the rest of the men had already approached the damsel as well. She eyed the man who held her staff in his hands, waving it around like some kind of toy. The sight annoyed her, but she had bigger concerns.

The man holding her began to step forward with Lux still in his grip, the lady’s heels digging into the ground as if to try and slow it. Kicking his shins had been utterly ineffective, for some reason. Lux realized a moment later that with work like this… they were probably used to it. She was brought less than a foot away from the one who stole her wand, and she locked her gaze firmly with him.

“I-If you don’t give that back now and release me, th-then I can assure you that it won’t be just the entire military might of Demacia that strikes down on you, but my brother will personally take his sword and shove it-”

“Let me correct you on one little detail. A small flaw in your argument, if you don’t mind. They won’t.” He let those two words hang in the air for a moment, the mage’s mouth left agape as he stepped forward, grabbing the woman’s chin in his free hand and firmly lifting it up as he looked down upon her. “It’s funny… we had the most elaborate plan drawn up to snatch the Crownguard heiress out from right under the kingdom’s noses, in their own very castle! It would’ve been the perfect showing of just how useless they were… and then you went and walked straight into our base! Do they even know you came here?!”

He laughed, almost feverishly so at the sheer irony of the situation while Lux's eyes darted away. The amusement spread to the rest of the men surrounding them, a number that seemed to increase by the minute as another slaver who'd gotten the message tracked down their very important princess. “Don’t get me wrong, I’m not upset that a beauty such as yourself decided to throw yourself at us,” The fingers holding her chin up trailed all the way down to her chest, circling the top of her cleavage as Lux’s eyes followed them and widened. “But we already spent a fortune on bribing the right people and buying the proper equipment. You… you’ll need to make up for that.”

Perhaps the man could feel her rapid heartbeat just before he lifted his hand off her body. He smiled as he handed the staff off to one of the men behind him, remarking how it’d eventually catch a good price at the black market. But Lux could just tell, with the way their eyes all stared at her…

Her debts weren’t even close to being paid off.

“H-Heeeelp!” It was a useless call that would reach no one who'd care enough to respond, but it was instinctual enough to come out of Lux’s mouth in this situation anyways. The man who held her in his clutches pushed her against the nearby wall of the corridor, pressing her face and body against the stone roughly. She turned her head over her shoulder towards them, to see them well equipped to subdue her. Coils of rope and cloths were pulled from their belts, the target of which was obvious.

“Y-You--I’m warning you! M-My power, I-I can--gah!” She was shoved harder into the stone wall before she could finish her empty threat, and her eyes glared back at the one who held her. She tugged her arms over and over, continuously unable to move them even an inch apart from how they were pinned. Lux turned back towards the men who held restraints, now only inches away as a few of them gathered around. Her eyes widened as her impending fate finally sank in.

“D-Don-aamPHFF!” Her final plea was cut off by a thick wad of white cloth being shoved straight into her mouth, filling it up as the man’s fingers pushed it in. He grabbed the back of her head with his other hand, using the leverage to shove it in deep before his fingers finally left her mouth. But he extended his open hand to the rest of the men, and only a moment later another cloth was in his hands. She considered spitting this one out, but she noticed that the one that’d just been put in his hands was rolled up as well. If he was going to stuff her mouth further…

He pressed the second cloth in with her palm, getting about half of it into her mouth just like that. Then, once again, his fingers began pushing in the rest of it, and just as they were between her teeth--

“GAH!” The man let out, pulling his fingers out immediately before they could be hurt any further. He held them out in front of his eyes for a moment, looking at his reddened fingers which throbbed with pain. “T-That bitch bit me!” He gasped a few times as an angered murmur formed around the rest of the slavers. “D-Deal with her immediately! A-And I don’t care if she’s a Crownguard or not… treat her however you like.”

She’d already been struggling in the man’s grip after the one gagging her had finally pulled away, but they certainly became more desperate after his words. Even the cloths which she’d fought to prevent failed to escape her mouth fast enough, the mage struggling to push out more than a little bit of them with her tongue. Her efforts were interrupted when the man holding her suddenly began pulling down, pushing her face-first into the ground in a rough enough manner that indicated that they were done playing nice with her.

The one she’d bitten had already begun to walk away, probably to get some proper bandaging for the wound. But they’d been given all the more reason to make sure her gag was secure, and another one of them took over on that duty. He knelt down in front of her, pulling out a roll of black tape before bringing it directly to her mouth. The pungent scent of tape entered the lady’s nose as he ripped it free, beginning to wrap the strict adhesive around her entire head. He did a full loop… and then another… and another. Lux’s eyes shot up to meet him by the fifth.

“If you were more cooperative, then maybe we could be a little lenient. But royal vermin like you just don’t know when to give up, do they?”

“...fnch mnn…” Lux let out, muffled heavily by her overwhelming gag.

“What? I didn’t quite catch that.” The man taunted, and the mage easily took the bait.

“FNCH MNN!” She cried out, the intelligible words as loud as she possibly could make them. Lux began shaking her head back and forth as if to try and undo the tape which was already firmly plastered upon her lips, cheeks, and the back of her head. The only thing she succeeded at doing was hitting herself and the man who pinned her with her purple ponytail. While she was able to move her head around freely, that really was the only thing she could struggle with. Her torso would barely move an inch under the crushing grip which constrained it, and her kicks were still quite useless, especially now that he could easily use his own legs to hinder them while pressing her against the ground.

She couldn’t escape now, and her chances at that were about to get a whole lot worse.

The man pressing down on her finally loosened his grip, letting her arms finally break free from the numbing hug they’d been forced in. As they shot out into the air, however, they were immediately caught by his and the other men’s hands, wrestling them straight back into submission. Her gloved hands were pressed down until they rested firmly against her back, pressed up against one another with pressure applied specifically at her wrists to keep those as close together as possible. She felt the coil of rope brush up against her back as one of them unraveled it and leaned down, quickly tying it around the girl’s wrists as if there wasn’t a moment to spare

“Hmm! Mmph... gn... nmrmnnm!” The gagged lady pleaded, but her bindings did not slow in the slightest. Shaking her arms back and forth slowly became more futile, the distance between them growing closer and more forced by the second as the hand’s grip loosened but the rope’s bite stiffened. Lux felt it dig deep into her gloves and the skin beneath as he finally knotted off the restraint. “Phnn phnghph…” She mumbled into her gag, barely audible to even herself.

The girl who was once always so positive tried to find the brighter side. She tried to push away the clawing notion that her situation was hopeless, that her staff was far out of reach and she wouldn’t be able to wield it anyways with a restraint like this strictly applied to her. The magic inside her body was still there--the only advantage she had over the men who were physically stronger than her, but it was useless without her staff to wield it. Lux desperately looked for the light somewhere else… maybe she’d find an escape opportunity later, o-or eventually get rescued…

Whether it was because the light inside her faded a long time ago with her transformation, or just the reality of the situation finally setting in, she struggled to truly believe in either thought. The second strand of rope came upon her elbows, pressing those together as well, and she could begin to feel some of the other men’s hands running along her legs. They pushed her slender legs together as she tried to resist by pressing back, though exhaustion was making it clear that she couldn’t fight everything that was happening to her at once. In a situation like this, with her wand gone and hands restrained, even if it was just one of them, she’d probably be entirely helpless to resist now.

And at this moment, with at least half a dozen pairs of eyes focused firmly on her and their hands eagerly awaiting their turn? It was no wonder that she was unable to find the bright side. Her body still pulled and struggled however it could find the energy to, yet everything was finally sinking into the mage’s mind. She gasped for air, forced to take deep breaths through her nose as her weary struggles became simple squirms underneath their touch. In those few moments where she was forced to finally rest, Lux felt the hands stray away from her ankles, leaving only the secure embrace of rope behind.

With the Elementalist finally secure beyond a doubt, many of the men took to admiring their capture for a moment. For those who stood by her legs, it was easy to trace their eyes along her legs, past the asymmetrical stockings, and towards the silk, purple panties that lay beneath a skirt that was far too short from this angle. Even those who remained by her head could finally get a glimpse of her chest as the man pinning her down finally released his pressure entirely, pushing himself off of their captive and letting her arc her own body up in a struggle, giving them a glimpse at her immodest cleavage. It was all far too enticing--impossible for a group of slavers to simply ignore.

Their indulgence began when the most tempted of them all leaned down to her back and pulled the lady onto her side. His hands began creeping in almost immediately after, an action that did not go unnoticed by Lux as her eyes widened and her cheeks began to flare.

“HMM! Nnn'ph mnn nnrm!” She was gagged for this very reason though, and her pleas went entirely ignored as his hands began their assault. The man gave them a long feel at first, simply pushing his hands deep into them as they squished softly in response. Her dreading eyes met his lascivious ones, not daring to look back down at what she felt happening to her chest, enduring a harsh squeeze directly on both of her breasts, cushioned only by the half of her dress which covered them. Moaning and groaning into her gag, Lux kicked her legs back and forth while trying to somehow shuffle away from the man. She instinctively tried to use her own arms to stop the man’s, only to be reminded of the harsh ropes keeping them pinned behind her.

Seeing the first of themselves begin to torment the mage was enough to convince the rest of the men to take their own piece of their prize. The alluring curves around her bottom were a contested spot, with many hands immediately running along her thighs in particular. Through the design of her outfit, Lux was nice enough to give each of her captors their preference in indulging in either a covered or uncovered thigh. A couple of hands ran along the silky garment that covered her left, rubbing and squeezing it underneath the fabric and appreciating just how it accentuated her body. Others chose the exposed thigh, directly grabbing at its thickness and clearly enjoying it based on the lustful sounds which escaped their mouths in the process. A few even dared to venture upwards…

“NMM! FNCH MMPH!” Lux shook her bottom relentlessly as she felt the first hand brush against her ass, rubbing the curves covered only by her cotton bottoms tenderly. Such an instinctual reaction that caused her bottom to jiggle encouraged them further, squeezing and shaking it roughly while mocking her with laughter. He tugged a little at her panties, amused by how her body suddenly stopped when she felt the possibility of it slipping away as well. Another chuckle escaped his lips as he let it stay on. For now. There was still plenty more to enjoy about their captive’s body.

The humiliation and helplessness began to fester over Lux’s mind. How discouraging it was, to struggle with all of her might and have such efforts be entirely useless. If she got enough leverage to shake around even a little, their hands would just press down a harder and end up furthering just how much she was used. One of them had finally had enough of her flailing legs--the useless bound pair had barely been able to do anything but annoyingly discomfort whoever they bumped into, and even that act of resistance was too much for them. He forced her legs into submission easily with just a little firm pressure from his hands and kept that burden present as he began massaging her calves, seemingly taking pleasure even in that. He’d alternate between worshipping the purple pantyhose on her right and the black tight on her left, speaking to just how far they’d go to ensure that no hand on her body was left without entertainment.

She wanted to endure, but it was impossible to ignore them all. The ones most impossible to ignore happened to be those who paid attention to her head, running their hands against her hair and face. Lux let out a cry as one of them yanked at her ponytail, roughly forcing her head to the side to face one in particular. It repulsed her to be forced to watch him lead his face directly in her hair, enjoying either the scent or feel or some other perverted aspect of it. What truly disgusted her was when he began running his lips sloppily along her face, kissing and licking it as if it was hers entirely. Lux just wanted it all to end, shutting her eyes tightly and praying that something would make them stop..!

To her surprise, her pleas seemed to be answered. She felt the hands on her body begin to recede, pulling away entirely. The mage was finally given a chance to breathe, to recover, and regain some composure… but why? Lux slowly cracked her eyes open, noticing quickly that only one man was standing over her now. His hand, with bandaged up fingers, rested near her face. Th-this was the one she’d bitten in defiance. She realized that such an action happened to be the last time Lux felt any semblance of control over her own body.

And she was about to be punished dearly for it.

“MMHF!” The man’s hand flew through the air, striking her across the cheek as she let out a cry in response. Only the tape around her face served to cushion the impact at all.

“It still hurts, you know that?” Lux only blinked in response. The man scoffed. “Fine. You’re going to make me feel better, though. A lot better.”

He had quite a bit of anger which he needed to take out on something. Someone. He sat upon the stone ground, easily pulling the mage up onto his lap. She began to squirm uneasily, not entirely sure what to expect out of the-

SMACK!

His open palm came down quickly on her bottom, and the pain which followed from the spanking was more than enough for it to immediately sting, even with the buffer of her skirt and undergarments. Another spank came down only a moment later, far before the pain of the first could begin to dull. A smile grew on the man’s lips as he watched the lady’s struggles escalate, trying to roll herself off of the man’s lap. He pulled her back easily with her other arm and a warning.

SMACK!

“This is your punishment. If you try to avoid it, it’ll only get worse.”

An ensemble of cheers echoed throughout the hallway as he pulled up her skirt entirely, revealing the purple lace that was hidden beneath. Lux barely felt the garment move--

SMACK!

But she certainly felt that! It was a much harsher spank than the rest, and she writhed in response to it. Whatever was trying to escape out of her mouth in response to it all came out as nothing more than an incomprehensible mess. She tried throwing her bound arms--even her legs and head against her captor… but it was all just too weak. Too meaningless. The fact that he didn’t see it as a significant enough act of resistance to be worth punishing was humiliating in itself. Even if her already flaring ass appreciated avoiding such a penalty.

It seemed as though the man’s fury was beginning to subside, however. His stray hand drifted down to her chest, forcing its way onto it so that he could begin groping her curves in conjunction with each spank against her ass. He began to squeeze the lady’s bottom after each harsh smack, hardly a reprieve for the mage as her ass still stung with the residual pain regardless, and the rough treatment simply caused her sensitive ass to burn for a little longer.

The man’s eyes strayed from his captive for a moment, noticing how a stray strand of rope was littered along the ground. There was no reason to let such a perfectly good restraint go to waste, and the man knew exactly where he wanted to put it, and the fact that Lux’s skirt was already pulled up made it all the more convenient. He leaned over to pick up the rope and snuck his hands underneath the mage’s dress once more when he had a hold of it. The rope was wrapped around the upper line of Lux’s panties twice, before being knotted off in the front. He took the hanging slack that remained and…

“MMPHF!” Gave it a nice tug along her crotch. The rope dug in harshly, eliciting such a loud cry out from the mage as it dug into a particularly sensitive region of her bottom. He made sure to leave no slack in the rope from that position, making sure that it’d rest firmly along her body and act as a suitable distraction for the mage. The look in Lux’s eyes made her discomfort and annoyance quite clear as she began struggling once more, this time trying to ignore how the crotch rope pressed against her teasingly every time she shifted around. It was finished off with a strict knot around her backside, and the man began to squeeze and grope her ass once more, now that it had been properly accentuated with a little extra rope.

“...mhf…” The sound was nothing more than a weak whimper, and it was all that Lux could manage at that point. Her body was tired and sore--not just from the spankings and other distractions, but the effects of the harsh bindings were already beginning to set in on her. The futile shakes and stirs of her arms and legs were all she could muster up consistently at this point. Whether exhaustion had begun to set in on the man as well, or if it was simply just boredom after finally being appeased, he let the woman roll down onto the stone ground, allowed to weakly struggle to all her heart’s content.

Of course, they would not be particularly good slavers if they let their captives do that all day. Lux heard a few of them begin to speak into whatever devices they had that allowed for long-distance communications. A few moments later, two of them circled around her. She’d already prepared herself for their hands to fall upon her body, and though they did, the fact that they did not immediately seek out her curves surprised her. They pulled her up, planting her on her own two legs before one of them quickly hoisted her off of the ground and brought the helpless mage over his shoulder.

Even if she still wanted to struggle around in defiance, out of the little willpower that still remained in her body, the direct sight of the ground beneath her made that an unappealing choice. “Succeeding” by dislodging herself from the slaver’s shoulder and falling head-first into the ground was not exactly an option that Lux was willing to consider right now. She opted to weakly kick the man carrying her as they began to move, a small show of disobedience that Lux was willing to manage. There was little else she could do, anyways. Staring at the ground was preferable to tilting her head up and looking at the men who silently followed, still intently staring at her.

Their trek through this maze of an underground lair was more successful than Lux’s solo attempts through it. The room they had in mind was rarely used, given that Demacia did not have many people of Lux’s type. But they’d always planned to snatch up a few, and a place like this ensured that someone like her would have no chance of escaping…

When they finally arrived at the cell, it took Lux a moment to realize what it was. There was absolutely no lighting on the inside, and it was small--only good for holding a captive or two. The walls, floor, even the ceiling were all made out of the same substance that Lux vaguely recognized the look of. A-And she couldn’t quite put her finger on it, but the second she was brought into this area, she began to feel a little… drained.

Petricite. It was the substance that Demacia used to absorb all of an evil magic user’s mana. And these slavers had enough of it refined into stone to make a small chamber out of it. If her odds of escaping on her own were low before, then being kept in a place like this brought them to as close to zero as possible.

No wonder one of the men found it amusing to bring her staff all the way along. He dropped the item in the middle of the room, its very presence taunting the mage as they began to set her down against one of the walls. Even if she got her hands on it now, here it'd be nothing more than a fancy stick. Lux turned her head over her shoulder, seeing what the man was fiddling with behind her. She felt one of them begin to loosen her neck-dress, tossing the large garment to a corner of the cell just as a clattering entered her ears-

Click! She heard the lock clang shut just as she felt the cool metal tighten around her neck. If she felt drained of mana before, then the application of this collar--certainly made of petricite as well--was enough to dry her up completely. She pulled her head and body forward, not able to move more than a few inches before the chain leash connected to the wall tightened and kept her from squirming around any further.

All that was left were a few finishing touches. Even if it was already nigh-inescapable, well… it wasn’t like they had anyone else to use these petricite chains on right now. Lux felt the cool metal dig into her chest as they wrapped the first of the chains just above her breasts, encircling the woman’s body and pinning her arms to her back. The same binding was repeated below her bust as well, this one more effective in ensuring that her arms could wiggle around no further. The two chains combined served to push out her bosom a little more, and with his hands finally empty, the man binding her copped a few more feels for himself.

She could hardly even move around at this point. Kicking him with her pointing heels was about the only defense she had left, and exercising that little freedom she had only served as a reminder that it deserved to be taken away. The men began wrestling with her legs, pushing them back towards the lady’s body. At this point, it was no surprise to either of them that her physical efforts to fend them off were entirely hopeless. They dragged her body into a kneeling position, forcing her heeled feet underneath her bottom before pulling out one final set of the draining chains. There was no particular grace to the way they wrapped them around both of her legs, pinning them together along with also forcing each thigh and calf tightly together as they pulled the chains under her legs before locking them shut. Two sets were used for her legs as well: one just above her knees and one that made her thighs squish from all angles as the fetters were tightened.

The men simply stood around her for a minute, expecting her struggles to start up again. And as they did, they watched her face intently to see how it drained of color as her efforts failed. The seed of thought that she was already screwed had been planted quite a while ago, but now that she was truly left to her own devices--to struggle and pull to her heart’s content as she realized that nothing would loosen..!

“PMMNPHM! Nnphph mmph mm gn!” The chains clattered against one another as she thrashed while begging, desperate eyes stared up at the ones who held her fate in their hands. When they only laughed, her gaze shifted to the staff only a few feet away from her, and she pulled her body with all her might to try and inch herself closer to it, even though she knew that it would be worthless with these petricite chains wrapped along her body.

She couldn’t pull herself more than a quarter of a foot before the tightening of the collar around the front of her neck forced her to rest. Even though she knew it'd stop her, she had to try anyway. She had to try something. It-It didn’t matter that she couldn’t move her arms at all, grab her staff, kick her feet or even speak! Something h-had to give. It… it had to… right?

“As entertaining as all this is, there is a bit of business we need to take care of.” One of the men began to speak as he knelt down in front of the mage. “Lots of paperwork in the slavery business, especially when we need to get an auction up and running. Hmm… who knows whose hands you’ll end up in?”

Almost as a parting gift for himself, his hand dug into Lux’s chest one final time. “Plenty of rich Noxians would, I’m sure. What would they do to a Demacian princess like you…”

He knew just how much that would rile up Lux as he finally turned to leave. Without a word more, he pulled the heavy door shut behind him and the rest of the slavers. It clicked a few times as he locked it securely, letting not a speck of light into the secure cell.

And Lux was left to herself in the darkness. To dwell on the foolish nature of her efforts, how she’d become the very thing she was trying to prevent in Demacia. A helpless, enslaved damsel, who had a very high likelihood of never being seen by her friends or family again.

The clanging of chains as she disheartenedly shook her body against itself was her only company as she dwelled on such thoughts, bound and trapped in a darkness not unsimilar to the one she’d clad herself in.
